Grandview Tavern Ratings and Reviews
We were not greeted for 5 minutes upon arriving and had to wait another 5 minutes on top of that before we were seated, despite arriving 3 minutes before the time of our reservation.
The service was slow and our appetizer arrived late and cold ( calamari-not good).
We recently moved to the area but have already scratched this place from our list.
This location has a great atmosphere both inside and when the patio is open. It is pretty pricey for what you get and they have also reduced their menu. They used to have very delicious pizza options, but they were removed from the menu. Bad move in my opinion...
I think this is my new go to bar. Well, I call it a bar but I really think it is a decent restaurant that happens to be 50% bar. I have been here twice so far, food has been excellent both times. First time was run-of-the-mill let’s see what looks good on the menu, second time I had the most expensive thing which was center cut fillet mignon. Impressed both times, and I have eaten at the cities finish dining. From Boca to Nicola’s, and many in between, this place can stand on it’s own 2 feet amongst them. I recommend you give it a try!
As soon as we arrived the hostess said we had to leave by 9:00. It was 6:15!
I also reserved a standard table and the hostess tried to seat us in the bar after I specifically reserved a table in the dining room.
Also, steak was average.
Not a good experience.
The new menu doesn’t add any value. It is more compact, still top heavy in bar food, lacks creative entrees (glad to bring back the sea bass, and add a new Cajun pasta-with Italian sausage?), and sadly the prices went UP! Take the added sea bass. I can go around the corner to Bonefish and get the same 6oz sea bass for $10+ cheaper! Why is Grandvuew’s version so much more expensive? I make these comments with all due respect. The new menu is disappointing. We will continue to selectively patronize Grandview but with a better menu we would dine there even more often than we do.
The service, the food, the atmosphere were perfect until the ill-mannered dog was allowed into the outside eating area. It kept trying to lunge at people as they passed; not to attack but to beg for attention. Then they showed up without any accommodations for the dog so they were given a drinking glass of water which they, in turn were allowing the dog to attempt to lap water out of. When that didn't work, they were given a salad bowl. And I know all dishes are washed and sanitized. I also know, that on occasion I have received a dirty utensil at an occasional restaurant. Not everyone is a dog lover and this was CLEARLY not a "service animal". The evening was suddenly less than perfect.
Always love going here but our waitress this evening was terrible! She acted so bothered to be taking out order, at one point rolled her eyes when I asked if I had ordered the correct thing. We were there for my birthday but went else for dessert because she was so awful. Here's your tip- a smile goes along way!
Went for a Sunday Brunch for Father's Day. Waited over an hour for our food and waitress never came at any point to ask if anyone wanted a refill of their drinks. Food was decent once it arrived, but I think everyone was starving at that point to really enjoy themselves. Restaurant was also miserably COLD!! Restaurant did not seem prepared for a Fathers Day crowd. This restaurant continues to seem hit or miss when we eat there, such a shame for a place that has so much potential.
Newly open for brunch, I thought we would give Grandview a try. We waited almost 40 minutes for our cold food (congealed gravy, luck warm heat and serve biscuits from the local food distributor, and cold eggs Benedict). Literally the only time I have even wanted to get up and walk out. Awful..... Don't wast your time or money.
