Grandview Tavern Ratings and Reviews
The service, the food, the atmosphere were perfect until the ill-mannered dog was allowed into the outside eating area. It kept trying to lunge at people as they passed; not to attack but to beg for attention. Then they showed up without any accommodations for the dog so they were given a drinking glass of water which they, in turn were allowing the dog to attempt to lap water out of. When that didn't work, they were given a salad bowl. And I know all dishes are washed and sanitized. I also know, that on occasion I have received a dirty utensil at an occasional restaurant. Not everyone is a dog lover and this was CLEARLY not a "service animal". The evening was suddenly less than perfect.
Always love going here but our waitress this evening was terrible! She acted so bothered to be taking out order, at one point rolled her eyes when I asked if I had ordered the correct thing. We were there for my birthday but went else for dessert because she was so awful. Here's your tip- a smile goes along way!
Went for a Sunday Brunch for Father's Day. Waited over an hour for our food and waitress never came at any point to ask if anyone wanted a refill of their drinks. Food was decent once it arrived, but I think everyone was starving at that point to really enjoy themselves. Restaurant was also miserably COLD!! Restaurant did not seem prepared for a Fathers Day crowd. This restaurant continues to seem hit or miss when we eat there, such a shame for a place that has so much potential.
Newly open for brunch, I thought we would give Grandview a try. We waited almost 40 minutes for our cold food (congealed gravy, luck warm heat and serve biscuits from the local food distributor, and cold eggs Benedict). Literally the only time I have even wanted to get up and walk out. Awful..... Don't wast your time or money.
It was a Mothers Day buffet. The manner in which the buffet was set up was horrible. Poor flow and it created unnecessary long wait times. The food was average. Nothing stood out at all. For 3 of us with a cocktail we spend over 120$. I really like grandview however I will not be attending another buffet.
HORRIBLE - WE NEVER GOT OUR DINNER. The Open Table reservation worked perfectly. The restaurant was inviting and it was packed. The drinks were fine. But, that is where it stopped. It took over 30 minutes to receive our 2 appetizers which were ordered immediately. We all ordered little pizzas and patiently waited for them. After another 40 minutes, we finally asked about our dinner. Finally, after 10 more minutes of waiting, the manager came out and told us there were out of pizza sauce. Rather than waiting even longer for something we didn't want, we paid our check and left. Ended up eating Pizza Hut at 9:30pm and not very happy. Why did it take them that long to tell us they were running low or out of pizza sauce. Why didn't they offer to cover our appetizers or a future meal? We got nothing. Our Navy son and his wife were in town for the weekend and this is how we spent the evening. Ugh.
My 1st time dining here. Came highly recommended.
1 hour wait for dinner even with reservations.
Salmon serving was very small.
Overall disappointing considering cost of meal.
Our server Reed did the best he could considering the wait. He checked on us frequently. Filled drinks quickly. Apologized for delay.
Food was good, server was nice but they were literally hours behind on cooking their food. It took an hour for appetizers to arrive and another 50 minutes for kids meals to arrive. The food was good but I would not recommend this place for anyone who does not have 3-4 hours for dinner. The server said that all the tables were sat at once and the kitchen got behind. However, as someone who worked in restaurants for years' this is not unique to Grandview. This is standard for any restaurant. It seems they just are not prepared for it. I've never experienced an hour for fried green tomatoes and French fries... seems like a nice place for drinks though if you want to just hang out over drinks and you have no where to be...
Grandview Tavern is tasty and dependable. The bar room can be quite noisy when they have live music but the dining room is far enough away that it doesn't impact a conversation. It's a place grown ups go to hang out and have a drink. The outdoor patio is fantastic in good weather.
I love the Grandview! I've been there numerous times and never been disappointed. The service is always good, the food is outstanding. I always choose the dining room, because it's quiet there, as opposed to the bar area, which is noisy, with TV's and a live band.
Found this restaurant thru OpenTable. Wanted a place near the CVG airport to meet my brother for dinner. The service was GREAT! We both had prime rib. Prepared perfectly. We were not rushed which was greatly appreciated. I definitely recommend this restaurant!!
We had a reservation. Showed up early to get an outside table and our table was given away to another party after it sat empty for 20 minutes. We were told we were next. They tried to seat us at a 4 top with six adults. We waited an hour for apps with a half full dining room. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
We were seated at the first booth by the door and hostess stand. We had people waiting to be seated for dinner standing right next to our table the entire time we were there. It was also cold sitting there as the door was being opened continually. We sat for 15 minutes before our waiter came to the table.
Pleasant surprise for a Sunday Brunch. Good selection of eggs to order,
with usual sides and carving ham. Hot selection fish, chicken, vegs plus...
Cold shrimp, smoked salmon, salids were properly served and fresh and
delicious. Good service. Plan to return. V.S,
Grandview is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant. It has a vibrant ambiance with TVs in the bar for sports watching. Several nights have entertainment. They have really good salads of all sorts and they have some of the best loaded fries I've ever had! I was going to be a good girl and get their Caesar Salad with salmon (which I've had several times and know their Caesar is one of the best out there) but succumbed to an order of loaded fries, Mexican style. Oh my goodness, they were better than they should be! So much for the diet. They also have great pizzas, a really nice Charcuterie and yummy sandwiches. and if you're feeling more serious about dinner they offer a great prime rib as a special (yes, I've had it and it is really good) along with several other very nice entrees. A restaurant for everyone! Try it, you'll like it!
The food was very good. I don't know if they were short of staff but it took a while to even put in a drink order. They were by no means full but relatively busy. I had to flag down waiters twice to order and get another drink. I asked for a table by a TV and got one. We were happy with that due to the NCAA tournament.
