Our group only gets together every two months, so when we gather there is always a lot of conversation. The waitress was very attentive, but she never rushed us. We spent almost two and a half hours at your place and we never were made to feel guilty for spending that much time there. We all had the brunch and it lived up to its reputation - delicious!
Always a great meal!
One of our favorite restaurants.
As usual, a wonderful dinner. The two for $44 is a great value.
Excellent food. This is my favorite restaurant to go to when we are in Cincinnati.
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at the "The Grand Finale"! The food is excellent, and the service is impeccable! I can't say enough about this restaurant! I just love this place!!!
The parking lot was closed due to resurfacing so parking was a challenge. Once we got to the restaurant the hostess went out of her way to accommodate us. The food choices were excellent and our waitress was one of the best we ave ever had. Special food with beautiful presentation. All in all a special night.
Always good! Consistent food and service!! Been going there for over 30 years!!
We had a fantastic experience at the Grand Finale. We were seated immediately. The tempo of the service was excellent. We did not feel rushed. The fried artichoke appetizers were excellent as an appetizer. We both had filet & crepes, and all were prepared to perfection. Highly recommend this local gem of a restaurant.
I would not recommend this older restaurant. The carpet is old and smells musty in front dining area. The enclosed patio is nice but tables very small. I do like the authentic decor
Overall, we probably will not go back
The Grand Finale always lives up to its name! We’ve been eating here for over 40 years and the quality is always the best.
Grand Finale has a very comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The food is delicious, especially the crepes. Our favorite time to visit is lunchtime, where the menu is offered later than most restaurants for lunch. Checkout times on their website for accurate info. You must save room the the most delicious desserts offered at reasonable prices, which are very high quality with high quality ingredients and huge portions. You MUST take family or friends there to celebrate their birthday, they won't forget it.
I hadn't been to Grand Finale in several years. It was just as good. Going to Sunday brunch real soon.
Wonderful value & extraordinary service & food.
We have gone to The Grand Finale for years, especially for special occasions. This is the only time our dinner was less than stellar. Although the back room only had one other table occupied, we were seated right next to it. The occupants were loud (on cell phones) to the point we had trouble communicating.
I got the mushroom crepes as usual. I told my husband, after the first bite, that something was off. They didn’t taste right. I decided it must be me, so I continued to eat. Later, after we got home, I became ill and realized I should have said something. My husband’s meal was fine.
Although not the best experience, we will give The Grand Finale another chance. I’m hoping our evening was a fluke and not the new norm.
Thad a wonderful dinner seated in the outdoor patio..
We had Sundau Dinner to celebrate both of my Husbands and my birthdays. We are two days apart. We had 7 in our party. Everything was fantastic. My brorher in law who is from out of town declared that we should do this every year at the Grand Finale.
Not great gluten free options, but a good brunch buffet for a group.
I was disappointed. for years, I have said Grand finale's quality never faltered. the spaghetti toss was not what I remembered And the House salad used to be a loveley presentation of butter lettuce, etc. quite different.
We always have a great meal when we come here. The entrées are unique and delicious. Love the crepes. The deserts are excellent! We have never had a bad meal. The setting is an old Victorian house with rooms offering small tables for a more private dining experience.
Nice quiet calm atmosphere for conversations with very tasty food. Gem of the neighborhood.
Great experience. Currently have a 2 for $44 dinner deal which includes a bottle of wine or dessert. Didn’t know about this dinner special until we were there. Made a great dinner even better!
Our food was delicious but my wife felt we were definitely a "second" in the waitress' mind, as in it took two trips past our table to get water when she initiated the offer, to take our order felt like we had to rush because she had other things to do and in helping us determine which bottle of wine we would prefer.. and the restaurant wasn't too crowded at the time of our reservation..Food and wine were delicious, but can only rate good overall since our waitress wasn't that into serving that evening.
Restaurant is very chic and historic, service was great, food was good. Ordered steak med well and was served raw. Worth going back, but will request steak well done next time.
Very good as expected. that's why they have been in business so long.
A favorite of ours. There's no place like it in Cincinnati. One of a kind. A true treasure.
I have eaten here for a long time but not that often. I had a couple of crapes and normally they are piping hot and great. This time they were warm and average. The others in my party seemed to like their food, but were not raving. With so many choices of restaurants they will need to be better. I had an vent in Wyoming and it was a good location to be nearby.
We have been patronizing The Grand Finale since shortly after they opened. We had never had a bad meal until today. We hope it is not an indication of a decline. It has been our "go to" place for special occasions.
Great Sunday brunch spot! Especially enjoyed the cheesy grits, the quiches and the fried chicken livers. Service was also attentive without being intrusive. We’ll definitely be back!
Grand Finale has always been a favorite since I was a little girl. I have always loved the French style cuisine and lately they've even been "updating" the menu. The desserts are still the absolute best in town - the plain cheesecake is unsurpassed (just don't think it will be NY style - it's french cheesecake!)
The specials are usually a good bet and always try a crepe! Now they have a special deal M-F (it says M-R on the sign, but the menu says M-F) for 2 meals and bottle of wine from a pre-fix menu for $44. That's a steal for gourmet! Also you can sub the wine for a dessert (most of them are large enough to share if you aren't me, haha)
Our go to. Get the crepes champagne and cheesecake
We have been coming here for decades - Mothers Day, New Years Eve, Anniversaries....hadn't been in a couple years for no reason in particular. My wife suggester we go for an early Saturday afternoon dinner. OMGosh! One forgets just how good this place is: food, service, ambiance, menu choices, desserts...everything you can ask for in a restaurant. No wonder they have survived so long in a tough business. Steaks, lobster, desserts...all are amazing. It will NOT be two years before we will be back....again and agin.
Even though I relayed in advance that we would have a seeing eye guide dog with us, the hostess seemed unprepared with her decision of where to seat us. We were ultimately seated at a very small table with the dog squeezed against the patio window. My friend needed to slide her seat away from the space normally setup for her place setting. It was as if my special notes to the restaurant were not read in advance of our arrival.
The snapper special was outstanding. We always try to dine here when we are in the Cincinnati area!
After being away for twenty years, we returned to Cincinnati and found the Grand Finale to be as enjoyable as during our first visit there more than forty years ago.
Forgot to serve the salad but gave us dessert so all is forgiven.
Grand Finale is a Victorian storybook atmosphere, with top notch service, delicious food, fresh flowers on the tables, known for their delicious crepes, quiches, great lunches, great dinners, and fabulous desserts. If you don't have time for a full meal, you must stop in for coffee and one of the divine desserts that will knock your socks off. I recommend the chicken walnut or citrus scallop meal with a dessert. Yes...
If you don’t mind having sea scallops cut in half - appearing to be bigger and more, than you will really enjoy this place. I would rather eat whole sea scallops and pay more than to think I’m getting something that I’m not.
The food is always good but I was disappointed with the service I feel that they act very snobbish at times and rude
Excellent as ever. My only complaint is that the hostess was obviously ill with a hacking cough and should not have been on duty or in the building at all. That was just weird. Here are your germ covered menus, enjoy!
Been going to the Grand Finale for 40 years and it is truly one of Cincinnati's best. I don't live in Cincinnati any more, so I try to get there when I do go back. Unfortunately, it is an extremely old building that is probably a maintenance nightmare for the owners. Last Sunday the dining room was much too hot. For some strange reason the tables were literally crammed together on the north end of the dining room and that made an uncomfortable situation worse. If I had had the opportunity, I think I would have left and rescheduled for anther time or date. Another downside is the furniture which seems to be as old as the building. The upside, excellent food. Never had a bad meal there. Will definitely go back next time I'm in Cincinnati.
