   Fancy vibe and quick service. We sat at the counter and the food came in two minutes. Service was excellent. All of our needs were attended to.

   Yes, it's a little pricey. But the food was incredible, the ambiance was stunning, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was quite comfortable, even as busy as it was, so it was more than worth it...

   It’s a restaurant that’s quite popular with tourists, and the staff act accordingly—from a host whose eyes are so singularly focused on the reservations screen that he doesn’t look up even once while checking you in to servers who have perfected the art of not making eye contact with customers once they’ve served your meal lest you might want a refill on your coffee or some more cocktail sauce. But if you’re either assertive enough to get your waiter’s attention or resigned to the fact that this is what represents restaurant service in New York, you’ll be rewarded with an outstanding meal. Highlights are the raw oysters, with somewhere between 20 and 30 choices that change daily, to a selection of stews, and a list of fish and seafood entrees that seems to never end.

   The food arrived very quickly and was very good. However, the service from receiving food to waiting for dishes to be cleared for the next order was slow, as was the service to reorder another dish. It was very noisy, and we were unable to have a decent conversation without yelling. We will, however, look at the website to find out the hours it isn't too crowded because the food was good enough for a return trip.

   Crab cakes should be better. Tired recipe. Not super authentic to Maryland/Chesapeake tradition. Needs work.

   We were looking forward to our first visit to the Oyster Bar. It will be the last. Service was extremely slow, even though the it did not appear very busy. At least half of our orders came out incorrect or not at all. Chose a Caymus Cabernet from wine list, but that not what we received. We left very disappointed.
