Excellent friendly & professional service by everyone we came into contact with. The food was delicious from the oysters & starter to the main course to the bread and finally the desert/coffee. The table was more than adequate. We left fully satisfied with our experience.

A tried and true NYC classic. Food and ambience are always dependable. This visit, we found the service lacking. It began with little warmth from the maitre’d at the outset. And the most surprising failure was when our appetizers and entrees arrived together. Then there were long lapses as we waited to be noticed - to be asked our drink orders, for our dishes to be cleared, for dessert and coffee to be offered, and to receive our bill.

Oysters and chowder were good. When mains came a couple were very cold. We asked staff to refire them. It was like they had finished way early and sat while the other main was being made, making the octopus cold and hard. No a huge deal if they would make it proper. After waiting again a server brought the same dishes back out to us. They didn’t remake the dishes they just put them under a heat lamp for a while. We turned it away and asked for our check. I think the quality of the pursuers are still very good but the rest has gone downhill. We usually come for lunch every time we visit NY, but this was likely out last time. Our waiter was very pleasant but admitted he can’t control the kitchen.

Recommend the stew and calamari! The shrimp linguine is good if you’re planning to share a big plate of pasta.
