What a nightmare of an experience. I was under the impression that this would be a great place for brunch due to the reviews I read... was I wrong. As soon as we walk in we noticed how loud and it was only getting louder. It was so loud the waiter asked us if we wanted to be moved to a different table. We said no because we were trying to get out of there as fast as we can. The food was dry and far below mediocre. The menu and pictures they have online is not the same to the food they actually have. There were children running around and licking the glass windows. Also, parents were yelling through the glass windows as their kids were playing outside. Homeless people walking around thinking the yelling parents were trying to talk to them. The only thing that this place will get credit for is that we had a good server.
Because the restaurant is located in the Omni hotel you would think you'd be getting a over the top brunch experience. But, at the price you pay for this brunch there should be way more options... I've paid less & have had plentiful food options. I wanted this to be my go to brunch spot. But, I can't say I'd return.
Our server Augustus was the best, very attentive and friendly. But the selection of food is not comparable to the other Sunday Brunch in other hotels. There is less selection here and taste is less too.
I had Saturday brunch and was underwhelmed with several of the selections. The chicken sausage was dry and tasted bad. The carnitas Benedict was overcooked and near inedible. The “carving station” (a staple of any good buffet) was just a few slices of overcooked roast beef. There were a few good items (the fried chicken wasn’t bad and I liked the dessert), but I wouldn’t come back here again and I wouldn’t pay $55 dollars for this meal.
The food was good, but it was so noisy. You could barely hear what your friends at your table were saying. People yelling and laughing like they were at their house. So ghetto!!!! I would probably go back but the noise was a turn off.
Amazing....a must do...loved it all and great quality food
Excellent service! The ambiance is perfect. More options on drinks and food. Will definitely come back!
The food was good, I enjoyed it all but I was really impress with the level of service. The staff was on it. If my glass was empty it wasn't for long, she was there to fill it up. I didn't have to wait for my food (omelet, waffles) it was brought to my table. I really appreciated the work of the staff and they were all friendly. I will definitely be back.
Great! The variety was awesome and the food was well seasoned and delicious. Only complaint would be some of the food was left out for awhile and became stale. Highly recommend the desserts!
It was phenomenal and after being shown what brunch looks like I am excited to go for that.
The restaurant was very full for brunch, so service was a bit slow. The food was tasty but could have been warmer. We will return for another meal to compare with this one.
Grand cafe was grand, indeed! The food selection was fresh, hot, and delicious. So many different choices to pick from, and not one complaint over anything served. Service was outstanding, the staff were friendly and very attentive. Endless mimosas remained full the whole meal. Ambiance was great as they sat us by the windows for the view. Would definitely recommend and go back when I’m in town.
Delicious salmon and reasonably priced .
Such an amazing Brunch!
They are very nice and polite. They provide very good service and make feel comfortable.
I like the Grand Cafe overall for the price, i wish they had more options wit food choice...i do like the bottomless mimosas the waiter made sure to keep our glasses full
I came here for a birthday brunch and overall had a great experience. The food was mostly delicious except for the Asian station. The kimchi fried rice was very bland and the dumplings were bland, as well. The servers were attentive except for when I asked for coffee three times. We were a group of 7 and I wish I would’ve known about the $88 surcharge on our bill. All in all, we had an excellent time.
Food was cold. Service was good.
Excellent service; mediocre food.
Excellent service. Our waiter was very helpful. He anticipated our every need. Nice selection of food at brunch. Very relaxed atmosphere.
Food is good
Food was great and the service was excellent. Will be going back.
One of the Best brunches in LA.
Great mixture of East/West and fantastic service. Food is very, very good for the price. A lot of great, diverse options and the classics are prepared very well.
Quiet, friendly and a very pretty, relaxed atmosphere while not being too casual, either.
I recommend to anyone visiting LA or locas looking for a really nice weekend experience with friends and family.
I went there for their brunch option using the travel zoo deal. Space I thought the food was OK they did offer a lot of variety including omelette station seafood dumplings and desserts however I was not blown away as it typically cost $55 per person for breakfast. I expected a little bit more for that type of price because everything there was pre-cooked in large portions so the taste was not very exquisite I did not find any spectacular value besides the crab legs which were fantastic. The prime rib was definitely over cooked it was closer to well done and prime rib is best when it is medium rare. The dumplings that were offered were the best mediocre these are very similar to the ones you find the frozen food section. There are a couple soup and Asian items such as Congee but they were lacking at best. The deal was good but I wouldn’t come back again !
Brunch was sensational, everything you might want to eat! Great seafood, egg dishes, carving station, omelettes, pastry, you name it, and included in the price, Mimosas, all you can drink, also coffee, etc.
Overall it was an okay experience. Food was over cooked, bland and dry. Service was decent however I’m pretty sure they watered down the mimosas after our first hour. I don’t think I will be returning.
We like to have Christmas brunch with my in laws. Last year we went to the Queen Mary and it was very festive. The food was good for being a brunch. My husband wanted to try something new at around the same price. We went to the Omni Hotel based on positive reviews. The brunch is probably fine if the normal price is around $35.00 but not at our payment of $65.00. The offering area was small and not attractive compared considering the price point. There weren't really festive decorations so the ambience was so so. The prime rib was tough but the turkey was good. The desserts tasted stale and nothing special for Christmas - except oatmeal and chocolate chip cookies with colored sugar for decoration. The salad bar was uninspiring. With a surcharge of 10-15 for Christmas this was at most a fifty dollar brunch but not 65.00. I felt like I was in a Holiday Inn. I wasn't going to post a negative review because the staff was friendly and it wasn't their fault that the brunch was Bah humbug but I reached out to the hotel to let them know. Our bill was 500.00 for six people and when no one really really liked their food, I thought they should know. I got a boilerplate response. A savvy customer service person would have said, 'can we get you a cocktail or something next time?' Next year we will head back to the Queen Mary or to the Biltmore which is where I originally wanted to go but my husband balked as it was $75.00 but I am sure it was worth it.
Food selection was poor and not veried enough. Not too many vegetarian options. Servers and staff were all good and attentive.
Great food and wonderful service.
We enjoyed our Christmas Brunch! I was able to keep adding people even through Christmas eve. The staff is very attentive. It was just EXTREMELY WINDY! I would've like to know we were going to be seated on the patio so that we could dress appropriately. After while we became very uncomfortable and would not seat us in a large table inside, even though we saw them accommodate another group. Our servers were top notch and moved the warmers closer to us, but that didn't stop the wind. It was just a poor taste in our mouth for the managers/hostess or whomever is in charge of seating. We all enjoyed it outside of the wind, so next year we will just request to be seated inside. Oh also they apparently gice discounts for Senior Citizens, which my mom is, but we had already paid our bill.
My boyfriend and I come for the Christmas brunch every year and love it! Always good food and excellent service but so perfect for the holidays!!
I went with favorite friends for Holiday Brunch. It was wonderful.
Convenient downtown lunch or brunch option. Great buffet selection, too.
Servers were courteous. Food was delicious. Love it! Love it!
Return visit, food not as good as previous visits. Selection limited and filling of empty platters was slow. Service with Bruce was excellent.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE!
ANYTIME I WANT BRUNCH I COME HERE. THE BEST BRUNCH
Our group have been to this venue on several occasions, whether its our annual New Years Day Event or a Farewell Luncheon and it is an absolute fantastic place to go and eat!. The serving staff was so nice and accommodating and we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience as we always do! The food spread is just fantastic and met everyones dietary needs. Keep up the good work!
