Grand Cafe @ Omni Los Angeles Ratings and Reviews
I reserved the back area for my daughter's brunch. It was a very special occasion.. She passed the bar the first time and was sworn in the night before.
The staff was amazing. They were very friendly and even helped me organize the decorations I brought with me. The food was absolutely delish. The atmosphere was very nice. I have not one complaint and I highly recommend this establishment. I will visit again and again.
My son and I have enjoyed the Grand Café Thanksgiving Buffet for several years. This past Thursday, it was as wonderful as ever. The food is varied and delicious, the desserts are out of this world, the service is perfect (with perfectly made cocktails from the full bar). I've always looked to see if something might be better, and it is a great value for such a good Thanksgiving buffet meal.
I attended the Thanksgiving Brunch. The food was very good with a variety of choices. We were there upon their opening so it was not crowded which made a very comfortable environment for my large party of seven. Our waitress was very attentive. We did not have to make any requests for refills or taking finished plates. Management was very helpful and timely in resolving a minor reservation misunderstanding. Overall, my experience with Grand Cafe enjoyable for me and my family.
Everything was great. The place is beautiful, but a bit hard to find with the one way streets and construction. Both options to sit inside or outside, the view/environment/ambiance is beautiful. Service was very attentive and fantastic. The staff was not at all stuck up or rude. Everyone was friendly. Our waiter, Reynaldo was excellent. He was funny and very good about refilling our bottomless Mimosas before the glass was ever empty. I was surprised at how much selection the buffet brunch actually offered. The only reason I gave one star short of a 5 star review is that some of the items were not as hot due to it being left out. Other than that with the 2 hour limit they set for their buffet, never once did the staff rush my group of 13. I would definitely come back with larger and smaller groups.
Even though there was a 700 person convention , the service was Perfect! My friend and I had never been there when it was this crowded but was so happy that they handled everything so well. The food was very tasty and they checked on us often. Very excellent....
Went there for Sunday Brunch, per reservation asked for a table off to the side (lone diner and didn't want to be in the hub of it all) but was seated right in the middle of everything, being in the restaurant industry I shrugged it off until I noticed diners being sat at tables much better suited for myself. Picture me a single diner being sat at a 4-top table right next to buffet while couples were being sat at tiny 2-top tables off to the side. This seems ridicules, especially when considering at the restaurant I work out every server is given an opentable chit detailing preferences and past experiences, obviously this place just doesn't care. During my experience sat across from a single diner twice both brought up complaints about there breakfast preparation (they weren't doing the buffet but ordering off menu). Servers were sweet enough and from what I saw dealt with the complaints of other diners very well, yet this left me on the sideburner. I was well into half an hour from sitting down and getting my first round of bottomless mimosa let alone an ice water. And once I got it was hard to get refills, sorry but coming from MA where bottomless brunches aren't a thing I was expecting to knock back quite a few and celebrate. The food was good though, I suggest filling up on the shrimp and crab claws before entering carb territory. Service was just ok....However....this is for east coast folks....service in LA will only ever just be ok and never exceptional. In conclusion: want endless crab? come here, want a good scene? go somewhere else, want good service? don't visit LA.
Plenty of food especially shellfish, e.g. Shrimp, crab claw, king crab claw which was the focus of a lot of guests. Waffle cooked to order was excellent as was the omelet. Fried chicken was dry, biscuits were not flaky. Biscuit gravy was good. Breakfast meats were excellent especially the blue berry sausage. Did not try the dessert and had fruit only.
Server poured the mimosa and brought us the bill and never saw her in between. Busboys were attentive but left used cutlery on the table .
They were busy.
Extremely disappointing. Service was sub-par - and that's being kind. The "chef" - and that's a stretch - at the omelette station was rude, unfriendly and pretty bad at making omelettes. I think its all you can drink mimosas - but we were never asked if we wanted a re-fill. Awful experience. Will not return. Will not recommend. In fact, I will go out of my way NOT to recommend.
Amazing service! A group of 11, we were in and out for lunch at noon in less than an hour, and that included beverages, appetizers, and meals! Fabulous food: delicious, fresh and healthy, and artistic presentation. Perfect for business meetings: well-lit, quite, lovely decor. The only down side was having to sign a form with credit card info to make a reservation; it couldn't be done online so had to be printed, filled out, scanned and emailed back. But, given how good the overall experience was, I'd probably do it again!
This is my favorite place to have lunch Downtown during the work week for any occasion: business lunch, birthday/retirement lunch, casual co-worker get together. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. You have an option to dine outdoors on their patio, which overlooks the MOCA courtyard. They have a simple lunch menu that does include vegetarian options. On this day I had the salmon entree that came with couscous and grape tomatoes. It was a perfect summer lunch: flavorful, fresh and light. They also serve a fresh-baked bread basket for each table that's a great starter. Service was very good as usual; my ice tea glass always being refilled without asking. If you're looking for a quick lunch (under an hour) this might not be the place to go. But if you can enjoy a leisurely lunch it's definitely worth going to. Prices are reasonable considering the restaurant is in a Downtown hotel. All in all - a really good experience.
I love the Grand Cafe!! I'm from San Diego and every time I'm in LA I make sure to go! This trip we were celebrating my friend's birthday and having a girls day out! The staff was accomidating, they sang her happy birthday. Our server Rddie kept the mimosas flowing!! I think that this brunch is definitely worth the $$. The food is amazing, there is a good variety, and the mimosas are just the right strength, not watered down like most places!! I love it!!
When you finally find it, which isn't easy, it's a very nice spot. Nice setup for Sunday brunch. I don't fancy the idea of mimosas being mixed prior to pouring but hey, it's bottomless. Who cares. If you opt for no oj, just tell the server. LOVE THE HOT SEAFOOD POT full of goodies. If you don't eat red meat, though, you're out of luck because the tasty andouille sausage is already mixed in with crab legs, shrimp and crab claws that have already been cracked for you. Now that I know how to get to it, without the help of the receptionist because she didn't know either, I will definitely be back
My family came here for the Sunday brunch buffet and were very impressed. There were four of us and my 3 year old son and there was wonderful food for everyone. The service was excellent and the food options and quality were incredible especially for the price.
