This is a place not to go if you want a nice place to chat and have a nice brunch. It is very very loud and staff does not control the disturbance from other guest. I was here on a date and the table from across the room was 4 guys and they were yelling at everyone walking by “who’s house “ as they yelled at everyone as well as each table. This became very annoying g and uncomfortable. To pay so much money to have that type of treatment wow! The staff and managers said it did nothing.
I also made a reservation and when I arrived to check in another guest walked up to ask for a table. He told the lady that he did not have a reservation.
Next think I know he was taken and put at a very nice 4 top table near a window and very quiet.
My three guest and myself were taken to the far back next to 2 very large larger loud parties where we could not even have a conversation or hear each other.
I then told the manager that we needed to move it was too loud. Then I asked. Why were we not offered the table at the window that you had given to the guy with no reservation. We were first and reservation. He said he didn’t know and I could wait for something to come available to move. 35/40 mins later we were able to move. But at that point it didn’t matter.
$240 later and it was horrible , loud, horrible service and for what ?
Great, my mother is 92 years young and this is her favorite place for brunch.
The service was outstanding as usual. I go there often with friends and it is always amazing.
This is my favorite brunch location!! Whenever I'm in Los Angeles I make sure to come her prior to leaving
The managers were great for accommodating us into a larger table. The female host was not as helpful.
I had a Wonder time, with friends and family at the Omni Hotel.
All their staff were professional and respectful
Top notch dishes, beautiful spread and friendly staff. Everything was delicious!
Loved the mimosa included with buffet but wish they offered other drink options as well. There was a lot of food variety, but many of the items were so-so. Meat on roast beef was pretty dry, but the eggs and cooked salmon were delicious.
Great service and food made for an enjoyable experience.
Food was yummy and the wait staff were so friendly and accommodating.
The food was ok and the server were nice, but the service is known for being slow.
Excellent, superb, consistent! The best hidden brunch secret of LA. A winner every time, HANDS DOWN!
Went there for my birthday today had a fantastic time with the family. Great sea food and mimosas
Good staff. Slow on the mimosa refills but they were nice. Food was great.
The first time my husband and I went the mimosas were flowing! I mean our glasses never went half empty before the waiter filled them back up! The service was awesome and the food was amazing! Our 2nd visit back to LA and we made sure to come back to The Grand Brunch! Everything was amazing but we had to ask for a refill at least two times from our waitress. We enjoyed despite and will be back when we visit LA again.
First off when I️ went to restaurant I️ don’t see why you need a reservation because most of the restaurant was open and tables free . Second the servers tend to rush you , they don’t even ask if your first time of recommend anything. Third the food was so BLAN and TASTELESS..... I️ thought it was my plate but no it was my friends was well like we both were so disappointed didn’t even finish the plate what waste of money .... fourth to get check we had to wait and wait and try to flag a server for check which it should never be that hard especially for empty restaurant! Never again coming back I️ wish we just went to ihop we would of got more for our money and better tasting food I’m so disappointed I️ have been to some better 5 start places and 1 start places than this place
It's not that I would NOT recommend this restaurant, and we had quite a nice brunch, but I would not rush back there. Food was fair to good. Noise level was way too high for my liking. The thing I liked least about it was the atmosphere. Our table for 2 was in the middle of the room with virtually no outside view at all. It was a bit like being in a banquet room. Did not encourge you to want to stay and chill for a couple of hours, rather to eat and go. The price was okay, but i have had better weekend brunches with far more atmosphere both through Travelzoo and going direct
The food was absolutely delicious. We arrived around 11 am on a Saturday for brunch so the restaurant was slightly empty. We started off at the carving station. The Mac and cheese, roasted veggies, and mashed potatoes were seasoned well. My friend enjoyed the prime rib. I tried the seafood paella and the shrimp was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The French toast was perfectly cooked and the chicken sausage had a unique taste in a good way. The only downfall was the miso soup. It was a tad bit salty. The waitstaff ensured that our mimosas and coffee were topped off. Will definitely be returning.
I come here often for brunch! One of the BEST brunches in Los Angeles hands down! Can’t wait to go back!
Aside from the delicious food choices and bottomless mimosas, the best part of the brunch is the outstanding service by the servers. All are friendly, courteous, personable, attentive and always make us feel very welcomed.
Although the service is impeccable, the quality of food is really lagging behind...
We had a great Christmas Day Brunch! We will be back.
Great food and service Christmas brunch was fabulous.
The food and service was excellent! I will definitely be returning.
Sal, our waiter was outstanding, it was a party of 24!
Service wasn’t good. The food was okay but I don’t think the price matched the service and options of food. Our waiter wasn’t attentive. Some of the food was good and some was blah. Probably wouldn’t return
The food is great. However, if you don't want premixed mimosas I suggest you go somewhere else.
The restaurant and service was great, the food was good but for the price u really need to have more variety such as pastas and some mexican food for those that dont care alot about seafood, also the dessert display was alot lacking overall my group had a good time
Thanksgiving buffet. Overpriced. Much of the food was flavorless. At this price, I was expecting a much, much better meal. Turkey had no flavor, stuffing was mushy and had the consistency of mashed potatoes (minus any flavor). Paella consisted of overcooked shrimp (and crab legs) sprinkled with paprika or some flavorless spice-this is seriously not paella. Nothing impressive about meal.
With the exception of the Host, my overall experience was excellent. The Host who greeted my family and myself was very rude, short, and unaccommodating. Three of our seven party members arrived at our reservation time of 12:30 but the remaining 4 were not arriving until 1:00. I asked if that would a problem. He responded by saying that we needed at least half of the party here to be seated and if my remaining party did not arrive by 1:00, he will cancel our reservation. He did not offer an alternative solution and just ended our conversation. I walked away to avoid an escalation because I felt he was very rude as if it was personal to him.
But a few minutes later, my daughter express her displeasure to the Host of his attitude towards me. The Host apologized but with the caveat of an excuse. So, the apology was not sincere. The Manager happened to over hear my daughter's displeasure and he offered to have us seated immediately while we waited for our remaining party of who did arrive at 1:00.
Fortunately, everything else regarding our experience was excellent. I am a frequent customer of the Grand Cafe. I am there for many occasions such as birthdays, holidays, and last year my wife and I stayed at the hotel for an staycation during the Thanksgiving week of which we ate at the Grand Cafe every day. At each visit, the waiters/waitresses were wonderful, attentive, and food was very good.
Considering that the Host is the first person we deal with when we arrive, it is important that conversation is pleasant and accommodating. That unpleasant exchange was the dominating memory of our experience.
Fruit was superb, as were the salmon and crab legs. The bacon was fantastic as well.
The halibut cakes had become desiccated under heat lamps. Their sauce had become so dry that it was crunchy. The taste was good, though.
The stuffing had become almost like pudding, but the flavor was good.
