We are a completely in-house production, starting with fresh, basic ingrediants in order to create homemade bread to desert.
Over 80% of our products come from Italy one time a week such as, olive oil, flour, truffles, specialty cheeses, bufala mozzarella for the Neopolotan-style pizza, ice cream and etc.
Food and service both amazing. Felt like we were in a hole in the wall restaurant off one of the side streets in Rome. Food was outstanding! Will definitely go back.
The people make this place, helpful, pleasant and fun!
Loved everything about this authentic Italian experience.
The restaurant is very cute and cozy for a romantic date night, but the food was disappointingly mediocre. The bottle of wine we got was too expensive for the quality ($45). The homemade pastas were very tasty but the seafood in it was not great quality. Overall I would give 3.5 stars.
Went on a busy Valentine’s Day night. Tables were very beautiful with red roses. Server was clearly rushing us to order and trying to flip tables as fast as possible which was very annoying. He was quite rude. Bread was plain and bland. Caesar’s salad was flavorless. Pasta dishes were okay but expensive for what they were. Overall a disappointment for a place I was excited to explore.
Absolutely fantastic dining experience in every way. It really feels like you walked into a restaurant in Italy, and the food perfectly reflects that ambiance.
The food, service and wine are exemplary . Love to be there whenever I can afford to !
Gran Gusto is a very comfortable place to join friends for dinner. Food and service are great!
Excellent as always. Some of the best Italian food in the Boston area at this hidden gem.
I need gluten free food, and was very happy with my choice of risotto. Server was very comfortable and knowledgeable about my request.
On a Sunday evening, it was busy!! But quiet and great for conversation...
I am looking forward to returning soon!
I would not recommend this restaurant nor will I ever go back. They basically ignored us- didn’t tell us the specials, didn’t get us water and were rude.
Menu was well varied, yet concise. The service was attentive without hovering. it had been a few years since our last visit but we all enjoyed it immensely. We will be sure to return!
Just amazing!!! The pizza is by far the best in the Boston area!
Great food always! And gluten free pasta!
Very pleased by the food quality, price, value and wine list! Would definitely return to this neighborhood gem.
Food was great and reasonably priced for the area. Service was prompt and friendly. Not too crowded on a Sunday night. Highly recommend!
I have been to Gran Gusto dozens of times with young and old diners in my party. The food is delicious and the staff is warm and welcoming. I highly recommend Grand Gusto!
Solid Italian food at reasonable prices. Neighborhood gem
We ordered two vegetarian pizzas. The crust was very well cooked, the toppings were also nice.
We also really enjoyed the Tiramisu that we ordered. The coffee was average.
We'll definitely be back. Everything was delicious, and service was friendly and professional. Great casual dining choice.
The best authentic Italian food around
Very good Italian restaurant. Nice range of dishes. Good wine selection. Great to have in the neighborhood.
The staff was reasonably attentive; bar tender was not present so mixed drinks were not an option.
Main pasta course was superb however the appetizer calamari grilled was ordered but we got fried which was a wee bit over fried so kind of chewy.
Dessert was a chocolate cake with ice cream which was good
Service was terrible. Rude attitude and inattentive. Food was delicious however.
Discovered Gran Gusto a few months ago and it has become our favorite place to go for a great dinner out or to celebrate an event. The food is, ambiance and wait staff make for a very enjoyable outing.
We were a party of 5 and all of us agreed that the food was delicious- the pasta was made to perfection and the steak was very tasty.
The cocktails were also very good.
Service by waiter and wait staff was truly outstanding. The food was creative and delicious. Great wine selection.
Service and food were excellent
Great, classic Italian food in a traditionally styled restaurant.
This spot was highly recommended by Boston mag, Eater and open table. We drove 25 mins to dine here for lunch from Boston... big disappointment! No atmosphere, Poor service, and just bad food. Pasta fair, pizza less then fair and cold, Cesar salad fair. Do yourself a favor pass on this restaurant... you can definitely find somewhere better.
Excellent food and wine! Great service! This was my fourth time to the place and planning to go again!
Reliably delicious food. I highly recommend the funghi pizza and the ravioli with strozzapreti.
This a truly authenticate Italian Restaurant. There was something for every member of my wife's Birthday party. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the portions are on the moderate size, but every bite is great.
If you get there early order their Dirty Vodka Martini made with organic vodka, scrumptious.
Finally there's a real Italian restaurant. I paid less for an incomparable experience.
Fantastic surprise!!! A little off the beaten path, tucked away and well worth side stepping to it! When we could not get a table in some of the more notorious places on Hanover and other Italian titans in the well known North End district, I started looking outward a bit looking for some legit Italian food before our B's game at the TD. So glad we found this place! All pasta made in house, Quiet "but not dead" feeling at all- (its important to note we were seated a little on the early side @ 5:00PM out of concern for being out on time to make the game). It steadily filled in about 15 minutes after we were seated. Good energy by the staff, we were passionately walked through the specials that night and timing of appetizer, drinks and main course was uncanny and exceptional. We were checked on a couple times without being intruded upon. The people here, in our experience, strike an excellent balance of service while not stepping in with your mouth full. Once again, timing was one of their specialties in our experience that night. About the food...???? I caught myself ohhing and "ummm"-ing after most every bite and then needed to be more aware of my surroundings in the cozy dining atmosphere. My wife ordered the ravioli and I ordered the Paccheri (large tube macaroni with a short rib ragu) Both were truly outstanding! They pride themselves on procuring quality ingredients from Italy weekly and they know how to prepare them! this restaurant for us, is worth going back to as a first pick- not just when you did not book a table 6 weeks in advance on Hanover street. Those places are great too...and everybody knows it-so it can be tough to get in those places without super advance planning and reserving. Do yourself a favor and venture over a few blocks to check this "hidden treasure" on Sherman Street in Cambridge. We sure will again only this time we'll plan this place as a first pick instead of resorting to it when other great places were booked out for weeks ahead.
This is our second time to Gran Gusto. The food was excellent and the service was very warm and friendly.
Night out with friends
We were pretty much ignored after we sat down and water was poured. Had to flag waiter (who is also the owner) down to place drink order. Also had to ask for bread. Some of us ordered the special, which was simply ok. The ricotta pie for dessert was the highlight of our evening. Bottom line - what could have been a memorable evening was just an ok night out given lack of hospitality.
Best Pasta Bolognese I've ever had! I would highly recommend Gran Gusto and will absolutely be returning.
The pasta was horrible. I have lived in italy for 11 years and this was not good pasta. I am used to al dente this me pasta was heavy sort of dense . I was very disappointed
