I love everything about gran gusto! My only suggestion is the bread they serve at the table could be better. In a previous posting I suggested that they should forgo the bread and make focaccia in their pizza oven. I know because I’ve had their pizzas and they are fantastic!
I’ve been there several times and the food and service are outstanding! This is the best Italian food I’ve ever had.
Tasty as ever! We’re happy to show our family our favorite neighborhood haunt!
We didn't like the food and e tipped our waiter 10% of the whole check. However, when we left the restaurant he followed us to the car and told us only 10 percent? Don't ever come again. It was rude.
Nice that we went early, started to get crowded by 5:30. There were some noisy kids but they quieted quickly
The food was excellent, would recommend. Service started out well but towards the end we did feel a bit neglected. Never got to order desert
Nice evening. Would appreciate the waiter wearing his mask over his mouth AND nose. Food good, funghi pizza better than capers pizza. But overall nice neighborhood place.
Always good experience
We asked to move inside as it was getting cold. The venue was half empty, they did not accomodate us. Pizza dough is not authentic Italian. They don’t offer any gluten free option for pizza. Menu’s options very limited.
Great drinks, food and company!
Food is outstanding!! Real, authentic Italian!! Been coming here for years. The Pacherri w short rib is always on the menu and is fabulous!! The service sometimes here could use some help.
Other than that, this place is absolutely one of the best Italian restaurants around!!
Gran Gusto is run by owners who really appreciate the patrons who come. They give personalized service, and do their best-- and succeed-- in making you feel at home. They were attentive, interactive and caring. In many ways, this is a gem of a restaurant.
A neighborhood gem that I've passed many times. Bigger than I thought with large outdoor patio and 3 inside rooms, lovely ambience. Very authentic Italian , home made pasta and waiters with thick Italian accents. ALL the food that the 4 of us ordered was suberb! And very reasonably priced. Parking lot accessible after 6PM was a plus.
Superbly refined Italian cuisine with a lovely taste of Italian hospitality.
This was a good experience overall, but clearly the restaurant is under-staffed at present. Service was slow, and our waiter failed to record the entree order for one of our party. The owner, fortunately, responded well and made up for it.
Outstanding as always
Went to Gran Gusto to change it up a bit and could not be happier my wife and I did. Antonio, as usual, is the ultimate host and Gabby, our server, was tremendous. Perfect meal out. Thanks to all.
Must have been new waitress since described food incorrectly and could not read the table. Helpers were much better
Cheese tasted like it came from Walmart. Waiter never checked on us. Used to love this place, but now I will never go back.
We were pretty disappointed. The food was mediocre, part of our order never arrived and had to be removed from our bill, and we didn’t seem to have a waiter assigned to our table (?).
Covid note: none of the wait staff properly wore a mask, if at all.
Luigi was an amazing waiter. He kept us entertained with his stoic and reserved manner and personality!!! The food was great!
As usual -- fabulous food with attentive staff and owner at our beck and call
The food was excellent. The salad ingredients were very fresh with a mixture of textures and colors; and the amount of salad dressing was just right, i.e., every leaf and salad element lightly coated. The texture and flavor of the pizza, as well as
the appetizer size of eggplant parmesan, were perfect. The service was slow; however, given what's going on today with labor shortages because of the pandemic, it was definitely more than acceptable.
Our server Beckett was amazing and actually saved the night. Parking was a cinch. The food was good. Not great. Fresh and prepared well but grossly under seasoned and generally a bit flat. The wine selection was excellent and of value. The lighting way too bright, almost obnoxious and the outside door was open so even though we chose to dine indoors we still froze. Doors should be closed this time of year at night. The cappuccino was one of the best around but our desserts were lack luster and seemed a bit old/tired. Overall the server saved the night. I think we’ll try again elsewhere for the meantime. Thank you Beckett.
Very nice meals for the 4 of us who had dinner. Excellent pasta! Service spotty not enough staff but still worth it for a delicious meal that was not overpriced. Good sized portions too. We will return and suggest it for really nice fresh pasta
Luigi, the waiter is a funny guy! The squid appetizer was great, so is the pizza!!!
This has long been one of our favorite restaurants. However, on our recent visit, the restaurant was not that busy and yet We waited an hour for appetizers and another hour for our main course.
This place was highly recommended, unfortunately it didn’t meet the expectations, from the young guy that seated us and through the whole experience was the biggest disappointment. No once during the entire 3+ hours there did they ask us how the food was, or if we wanted anything else. We were waited on by the owner, and he didn’t seem to care at all. The food was fine, not bad and not great. If anyone in the entire staff was even remotely friendly or welcoming it would have been a much better experience, unfortunately it was not.
Fantastic Classic Italian Food. Outstanding service from the owner. Great value overall and especially on wine list.
This was a repeat visit to a restaurant we've loved before--this time bringing my toddler great-grandaughter with us for her first restaurant meal. The staff could not have been more welcoming! The food was flawless, the wine recommendation excellent, the fish cooked to a turn. I'm only sorry we couldn't stay for dessert (said toddler was starting to show early signs of fatigue). Can't wait to return again soon!
Our family of four went for weekend lunch, outdoor seating. Everything was perfect from appetizers of mixed meat and cheeses and Ceci, to their entrees - Scialatiell, Pollo, Zuppa de Peace, and Salmerino. Every dish was delightful - the sauce, texture, aroma...And of course we had Tiramisu (worth returning just to have it). A perfect place to celebrate any happy occasion or simply to have a pleasant time with people you love.
Beautiful outdoor space - windows are mirrored so you are not facing a wall or spying on inside patrons. The food is always excellent - fresh ingredients, homemade dishes- as always, a fabulous experience.
Great outdoor seating area, wonderful attentive service, genuine Southern Italian food and conviviality.
The food and the service were of exceptional quality! The pastas were homemade and everything was so delicious ! The food was as good as I’ve had in Italy and maybe even a bit better… well worth the trip.
Very slow service, food was good though.
we were incredibly disappointed when ordering the caprese that the tomatos were hard, pink, and horrible-tasting - in august, there is NO excuse. I should have brought tomatos from my own garden down the street!
we were shocked that they even served those tomatos this time of year - hoping they see this review a step up their produce.
Great food, obviously they can cook! Excellent, friendly service. Lovely atmosphere outside. Loved it.
This wonderfully local hidden gem transports you to Italy. The food is exceptional. And the atmosphere is fun. Just be prepared to have a little patience - things move at a different pace here.
Not too many menu choices but rather enough to keep everyone happy. The food was fresh and of excellent quality served in reasonable portions and we never had to wonder if we were forgotten - they staff was attentive enough but not a nuisance.. The wine choices were excellent and could fit any type of budget. We sat outside on the street and the neighborhood feel along with the restaurant decorations gave the setting a very backyard-like feeling.
Lovely environment sitting for a meal outside.
The service was very good and the food outstanding.
