We are a completely in-house production, starting with fresh, basic ingrediants in order to create homemade bread to desert.
Over 80% of our products come from Italy one time a week such as, olive oil, flour, truffles, specialty cheeses, bufala mozzarella for the Neopolotan-style pizza, ice cream and etc.
Celebrating birthdays and going aways
The food is excellent. There is parking! The negative is the noise level, which truly interferes with conversation.
The place is one if the most authentic Italian restaurants in the area. The pizza and desserts were great, the main courses were good and the special was very good. The prices was more than reasonable and we will surely be back.
Sat outside, table and chairs dirty, service was horrible, food average. Disappointed!
Service was very slow—we were largely ignored, contrary to previous visits. Each course was served very late, we had to remind staff that we were waiting for salad, gluten free bread, and the main course. We were never asked for coffee or dessert, and finally had to ask for the check. Clearly the restaurant was understaffed and over booked.
Wonderful authentic Italian cuisine! The staff is very attentive and knowledgeable. Loved every dish will absolutely be back.
Excellent food! Very attractive place with diverse clientele, friendly staff.
We happened to arrive at the same time as a large number of other parties, which temporarily overwhelmed the staff and the kitchen. We loved our meal, despite the wait, and are looking forward to returning soon. Highly recommended.
Always an excellent choice, but this visit suffered a communication issue about service of courses. The result was one dinner being returned to kitchen, assuming it would be remade. Unfortunately it was held under heat, replated , and served later. Our host was quite gracious about this, and generously took the item off the bill. Mistakes happen, but I felt the dinner should have been remade and if so would have made the evening a 99%. We will certainly return to this excellent restaurant and hope to enjoy their food and ambience again soon. I hope there are no hard feelings, we certainly hold the venue in the highest regard
Wonderful local jewel - great food, neighborhood location, festive atmosphere.
Gran Gusto has the best Italian food in the Boston area. Very friendly service, and very authentic.
We love walking over to Gran Gusto. The weekends are quite busy, and so sometimes a bit harried, or diners wait longer than they wish either for a table or for service. We understand--and so we just plan to have a glass of wine, or go on a week day, or go early or late on a weekend. The house wines are always good, and so everyone can order what they like. I will always love the pasta most.
Awesome neighborhood gem. Authentic Italian. Good wines.
Have been here many times, love the neighborhood vibe and the food is amazing!
A hidden gem (no cliche intended) in a quiet neighborhood. Italian owner's presence is friendly and professional, and very knowledgeable. Food was superbly prepared, quality ingredients - and authentic Italian... so happy to have found this spot! Shhhh, don't tell anyone!
Very authentic trattoria family owned with a personal touch from the owner. The food was excellent and the setting very agreeable. The owner is gregarious and adds to the atmosphere. Quite a hidden treasure. We will be back
Lovely restaurant and off the beaten path. We were able to both enjoy a delicious meal -- pasta was especially good -- and spend a leisurely evening with our friends.
Really enjoyed the seafood stew that I had! The caesar type salad was also really fresh and tasty. My husband had the branding and thought it was really well prepared. I liked the atmosphere and overall we had a really enjoyable experience. I would recommend this restaurant and would return!
Excellent Italian food. Service great. Comfortable ambiance. We will return.
Have been there a few times and always satisfied. However we waited one hour before we got any food and we were celebrating someone’s birthday so it was very disappointing.
I live in the neighborhood and walk over from time to time. I brought an out of town friend and she was impressed with the food. However, our server forgot to tell us the specials for the evening. A few minutes after we had ordered we asked if there were any and was told there were. We ended up sticking with what we ordered, but it was a bit frustrating. I think the gentleman that would have waited on us didn't like our asking to change to a different table (that wasn't right on the aisle) and our service was affected. But overall we still liking coming there.
Pasta is delicious! I come back here every time I'm in the area.
Great neighborhood place in Cambridge. The atmosphere is pleasant and the food is good. We booked with OpenTable and they did not have our table ready when we arrived. Service is friendly.
I like the place very much! Go there often!
Good food and very nice people.
Truely Italian taste in Cambridge! Seafood pasta is awesome. Fresh and very good smells with pasta.
Excellent food! It was difficult to understand the waiter and he was impatient with us and we felt rushed. We were not allowed to order an appetizer by itself. We had to order the entire meal all at once which prohibited us from enjoying wine and conversation over an appetizer while we figured out what we wanted for our entrees.
Great owner authentic Italian food. Very nice experience and would recommend to others
I have been going to Grand Gusto for over 10 yrs now. It has the best Italian food in Boston, and with new gluten free options, it really has something for everybody.
This place is perhaps the best Italian restaurant around and I mean including Boston’s North End.
The food is fresh made by an Italian chef, owner is also Italian, products are from Italy. The house red is terrific, the imported cheeses and meats are terrific, the pizzas and fresh pasta are the best. Love the pacchera w short rib sauce. Love the wine room area ambiance, the service and the prices.
There is nothing not to love
The best pasta I’ve had outside of Italy.
Not sure what to make of experience. Food and wine very good. Will probably try dinner another night to see how it goes before forming opinion.
A little bit disappointed by the service as we waited more than 40 minutes to be served
Gran Gusto is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is unfailingly delicious, and the owner is charming. I especially love the mushroom pizza with fresh mozzarella and the ravioli with stracciatella, cherry tomatoes, and eggplant sauce--out of this world. The noise level is energetic in the front dining room, but we were able to sit in the back room, where it was quiet enough for my hearing-impaired partner to enjoy the conversation.
Off the beaten path. SUPERB menu. A neighborhood place that punches well above its weight. RECOMMENDED!
Nice quiet upscale Italian restaurant. Good service and food, and a parking lot behind.
We dine at Gran Gusto frequently and always enjoy it.
Unbelievable!! Antonio and his staff do an outstanding job with good that is to die for. Highly recommend it to anyone with an appreciation for a great dining experience.
Food was great! Wine was delicious! Fast service! Would go back!
The volume of music was too loud . Food was great. The waiter was delightful.
Food was great excellent and reasonably priced. Great past dishes indeed
The food was excellent and owner was very attentive.
