Gramercy Grill Ratings and Reviews
Went for Dine Out Vancouver (DOV). The online menu for Dine Out looked good, but disappointed in the entree and dessert. Those not familiar with DOV, it's a fixed price 3 course meal (appetizer, entree, and dessert). Caesar was good, but it's hard to screw up a Caesar. Steak (2 ordered at the table) was a bit tough - even with med-rare, and wondered if it was the cut specified. Believe it was supposed to be a strip loin. Lemon tart was just so-so. Not as firm as I am accustomed too for a tart. It's a nice neighbourhood restaurant, but fell short of my expectations. It used to be that restaurants would showcase signature dishes for DOV, but this just seems to be a cash grab now. Not the only DOV restaurant that disappointed me this year. Unfortunate, because they should use this as an opportunity to woo customers to return with great food and service. Service, was fine.
We had amazing service thru out our meal! I mentioned we were crammed for time & they kept to our time schedule! But maintaining quality in food & service! I’m totally going to try Gramercy again!
They comp the birthday dessert, but even with it on the bill it was very very inexpensive lunch! 👍🏼
We hadn't been to Gramercy Grill for a couple of years and were pleased to find the service, food and ambiance were as good as we remembered. All we missed was that they only do the muscles one way where previously there was a choice. The lobster sea food spaghetti was wonderful and worth the trip from the North Shore.
A good find!
I had a chicken sandwich with a salad. The sandwich was great, the salad was terrible: nothing but lettuce and an insufficient amount of dressing. My wife had soup and salad. Again, the soup was great, the salad not so much. Come on guys! Making a good salad isn't that tough
The restaurant has a nice, relaxing atmosphere suitable for a quiet conversation. Service was highly attentive and friendly. The menu items are priced mid-range so there is no sticker shock. We had the clams to start. This dish was very flavorful with a generous serving of clams enhance with sliced chorizo. We selected the seafood bowl and the lamb shank for main courses and both did not disappoint. The assortment of seafood included crab claws, mussels, scallops, prawns and fish pieces in a tomato broth. The serving portion was quite generous and tasty. My lamb shank was very large and served with assorted sliced vegetables in a broth base. The lamb was easy to cut and very flavorful. Dessert selections included the lemon tart and blueberry cheesecake. Each was nicely presented and garnished with fresh cream.
While there were five other couples dining in the main area it was disconcerting that the room was mostly empty during the length of our meal. This lack of patronage certainly does not reflect the excellent service and food quality. This place is a neighborhood gem and worth a drive to the west side of Vancouver for any occasion.
We have dined at this restaurant many times but not during the past year. We wonder if it has changed ownership.
Although the prawns and duck were tasty, the pasta dish and mussels were not. In fact, we question the freshness of the mussels as the main consumer of them had gastric problems and another diner, who tried a couple of them, was also affected.
Where fresh salmon is readily available, to have the catch of the day farmed salmon is not acceptable.
They had good seafood but nothing about this place was outstanding. The waiters got the prices of the catch of the day wrong- one said it was $20 and one said it was $28, which in my opinion is a huge price difference. They charge for bread which was unexpected. Overall the food was good , location was below expectations and the service was fair. Might return in the future if we're in the neighbourhood.
I didn't enjoy my meal because I ordered a pasta and the pasta noodles were under cooked and my whole entree wasn't hot enough in general. I've been to more high end restaurants who didn't have a $3 charge on bread so for this being quite casual I didn't expect that.
Went to Grammercy for Mother's Day lunch. Had a lovely very server. Our brunches were all different and all very good. I had the Prime Rib Hash and it was delicious. Light tomato based sauce. The meat was plentiful and very tender. The eggs were perfectly poached. I have been here before for brunches and dinners and have not been disappointed...
We visited the Gramercy Grill during Dine-Out Vancouver. This was our first time eating here. We were very surprised that they offered ONLY the dine-out menu where all other restaurants we've come across have offered regular menus as well.
The Dine-Out menu was very average - not much flavor. One had the duck (rare was expected for this dish but it was quite raw inside and very leathery outside) One had the striploin (we were told this could not be served to our preference "blue".....once it arrived, it was obvious that this was because it was very thin)
Overall a bland and limp dinner. We may try again when the regular menu is available but it wouldn't be at the top of our list of choices.
Very nice neighbourhood restaurant, excellent service and the food is very good. We booked during Dine-Out and had their set menu. The mussels were delicious (as usual). Beef carpaccio was a bit thin but good taste and presentation. Mains were very good as well. Dessert, flour less chocolate cake was excellent. Overall, would recommend on a regular basis. Try their dinner chicken liver. It's amazing.
