Gram & Dun brings culinarily-driven fare, while paying special attention to pairing food with libations. It's a place “for the people” where we can relax and enjoy the neighborhood vibe while we test theories of food, drink and the evolution of good times.View Private Dining Details
We were celebrating our 30th anniversary. Andrea took great care of us - recommended a lovely wine and brought us a special dessert. We love to visit Gram & Dun every time we visit Kansas City.
Loved the food, very creative and delicious. Our server was great--right there when we needed her, very attentive, but not intrusive. We were there on a busy Friday night so the noise level was deafening. We ate inside which no doubt contributed to the noise factor.
We got a seat out on the patio and the weather was perfect. The drinks, Apps, and dinner were all delicious. Great time!
Excellent locally owned operated restaurant. Good value.
Great food, great drinks, great location
Our server Andrea was very knowledgeable of the menu and explained several of the items so we could make the best selection. The environment is very nice and we weren't rushed to order. I enjoyed the duck, but with it would have been better with a sauce to enhance the flavor. We also had the snapper which was very good. Our entire evening was very enjoyable and the service was excellent. This wasn't our first time there and they are consistently a great place to dine.
It was awesome. We were celebrating an anniversary and birthday. The food was great. The server Anthony was awesome and Mike the manager was incredible. Overall it was a fantastic experience.
The food was a big disappointment and we were looking forward to a special dinner. Fish dry, pork wings ho hum - sauce was way too spicy and I like spice. Won’t go back.
What a great experience! Joan did an outstanding job in taking care of us. The atmosphere was full of energy and very comfortable and the food was delicious. I highly recommend going their with friends or colleagues for any occasion.
Delicious menu; excellent and attentive service for our lunch on the patio! Will return again!
The food was great as uaual and the service was amazing like I’ve always had. Very professional. Everyone has a smile on their face from the host to the servers.
Our service was outstanding, and I wrote such in our server's notebook.. This is a nice touch and I would encourage corporate to continue. I understand that you are going to end this and have customers go on line to comment. That's too bad for the server and for you. This is so unusual, gives the server feed back on site and given the service was as outstanding as ours can be a motivator and reinforcer for her/him. And should be a great asset for management to gage who is excelling at great customer service.
Plank w/ citrus-cured salmon, egg salad, dill, and crème fraiche plus cucumber, mint, dill, pickled onion and goat cheese on 9-grain. A great starter.
Sourdough toast w/ jam and fresh fruit - a great choice for lighter fare.
Buttermilk Creamsicle Pancakes - delicious and nicely presented.
Great Bloody Mark with just the right amount of spice.
Love Gram and Dunn! Always enjoy the patio! Tends to be a bit noisy inside, but worth the visit every time!
Mocktails - Garden Party, Strawberry Blonde and Beach House were all delicious as were the margaritas.
The Jackson salad and the soup of the day - cream-based with apple, corn and red pepper was delicious as well.
Dinner entrees - Linguini Genovese and the Scallops were outstanding. The scallops in particular were beautifully presented.
Dessert was a Tres Trifle and was great.
If there seems to be a theme it would be delicious and beautifully presented food in a terrific atmosphere.
Two salads - Jackson and The Goat - both were delicious - a delightful blend of ingredients.
Two dinner entrees - Shrimp & Grits and Sweet Tea Pork Shoulder - both were delicious. The pork shoulder was melt-in-your-month tender and very flavorful.
Table 51 is terrible. It's the corner table next to the outdoor bar and the bar patrons hover over your table. Dinner was served with the butt cheeks of a woman at our plate lever. We asked to be moved and no open tables so we tried to suck it up and enjoy. Server felt terrible and asked bar people to back up multiple times. Mr should have stepped in but never did. We just ate and got out asap.
My daughter and I went shopping then stopped for dinner.
Excellent gluten-free meal! I enjoyed The Jackson salad with chicken. I explained to the server that I am a celiac, along with my concerns about avoiding cross-contamination. The server was wonderful in being proactive to communicate these dietary restrictions to the kitchen, thus ensuring a safe and tasty meal. Much appreciated, and I look forward to returning soon!
WAS one of favorite places to go with friends & business meeting.
Burger was TOP in the city and now just okay nothing special.
Disappointing to see the food is not up to par.
Cheeseburger had a very thin slice of cheese with undercooked raw bacon on top for $15
Service was great and place is nice yes everyone has liked this location for patio for 30 years.
Let's step up your game on food, know you can do it.
Will return for the patio only for drinks & light eats
Always great. One of our favorite restaurants in town.
Great outdoor seating area and the service was great.
Had a great experience!! Food was delicious, service was engaged, atmosphere was enjoyable and cocktails were good!!
Excellent brunch. Sweet and savory options are both on the menu. The soba was absolutely delicious.
Everything was delicious and service was outstanding.
Went to Gram and Dun with a group of friends for my birthday. The food was excellent and our server, Skyler, was stellar. He even fanned us because the restaurant was so hot inside due to broken A/C. Skyler kept a sense of humor under difficult circumstances. From a management perspective, I think it was a poor choice not to inform us that the A/C was broken. Yes, we probably would have found a more comfortable place to have dinner that evening. But, I would have appreciated their honesty.
Temperatures were extremely warm for a 7:30pm mothers day dinner.
Could not enjoy meal for discomforting temps. We were inside.
Chicken and waffles and lamb chops were excellent. I’ve always come and had the house Burger, but it has been changed and went from my favorite to over cooked basic burger..
Excellent food and great service. Staff made you feel comfortable and the waiters help you choose the food that complements your tastes.
Mother’s Day brunch . Food was just ok nothing special . Normally the food is excellent but this time it was a little disappointing. Biscuits and gravy were very dry and my waffle was cold . So like I said nothing special.
Great food..even better service. Shrimp and grits....Southern comfort food with a twist..
Grreat place to go for Mother’s Day brunch!
We order bread, server was going to bring grill focaccia, it never arrived, pork shoulder beans were hard, skirt steak lack of flavor.
Gram and Dunn is a family favorite. The food was outstanding but the service was subpar. They were out of pig wings which is their signature dish. The waiter did not bring the correct drinks and then asked us to taste them and if we didn’t like them he would replace them. Yes we asked him to replace them and please bring us what we ordered. He was not accommodating which is encouraging us to try a new place on the plaza. It was disappointing since our son was in from out of town and really wanted to go there. We are regulars.
Reservation was as expected. Great food and great service. Beautiful place.
Amazing service and food. We ordered rose, chartcuterie, and various salads, all excellent with great recommendations from our server!~
I wasn't impressed with the food in this restaurant. Nice ambiance though.
Came here and sat on the patio prior to the Lion King Musical. Andrea was amazing, perfect timing and great food descriptions and recommendations. We were on the patio and it was fabu!
Birthday dinner for my son and it was great!
