Gram & Dun Ratings and Reviews
We went for restaurant week - very nice meal - bar and restaurant were both busy but efficient staff took care of the crowd. Our table was ready at the reservation time - quite an accomplishment for the busy staff. Food was also very good and unique. Would certainly go here again.
The space is stunning. I went for Restaurant Week. The herbed goat cheese, arugula, smoked garlic edamame, candied orange, banana bread croutons, sweet maple red onion vinaigrette salad was fabulous - though it wasn't arugula. Good tastes and textures combinations. Portion just right. For the main course I had the cornmeal-fried trout, smoked grits, red cabbage & caraway slaw, spicy aioli. Also quite good flavors and textures, however, the red cabbage was sliced too large and proved to rather unwieldy.
Went for the first time for restaurant week. The server was awesome and very helpful. Cocktails were delicious, but the salad with goat cheese and the hangar steak were both very disappointing. Burnt ends Mac and Cheese delicious and the G&D salad. Would totally give it another try, though.
The food was excellent. We had Duck Two Ways* smoked duck breast, confit duck leg, roasted cauliflower, charred onion, fried sunchoke, duck jus, spruce oil . IT WAS EXCELLENT! We lived in France for 5 years so we have a good idea about how great duck can be. Again, this was excellent! Our waiter, Meghan was also very good.
Gram & Dun is one of my favorite restaurants. They have a great patio area and the indoor area is warm and inviting. The service is always fantastic. Most of their servers have been there for years so they are very knowledgeable about the menu. I highly recommend the pig wings and the shrimp and grits.
The restaurant has a superb ambiance and the service is absolutely fantastic. It is a vibrant spot good for a date or a group dinner. It is not a good place to bring small children. Definitely for more of a lively adult evening. Great wine and drink selections.
Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our server Sarah was excellent, attentive and knowledgeable. The food was fantastic especially the soup, delicious flavors not just a ho-hum dish. We were there for RW, but got dessert also it did NOT disappoint. I had the coconut cake, my friends got the truffles, both were outstanding. A wonderful lunch.
I went for my birthday which happened to be the first night of Restaurant Week. Our server, Sarah, was personable and funny. She made great recommendations and complimented our choices . She always gave great descriptions of the food. It got busy and she disappeared for longer than we liked before we ordered, but she more than made up for it. When there were things that needed attention or weren’t what we were expecting, she went above and beyond to fix them. I personally loved the loaded potato gnocchi. It was excellent. All and all it was a great birthday dinner. I would definitely go back.
We have been back every year on January 10th since 2015. I proposed to my wife then and we’ve made a point of returning every year to celebrate. We have always enjoyed the experience but this year we were blown away that our waitress made a special point of congratulating us with champagne even though we never mentioned why we were there. You must have our info in your computers but it made us feel very special regardless. Thank you so much for the experience! The food was amazing and the drinks were delicious and the night was memorable!
I surprised my boyfriend with reservations for his birthday. We walked in and immediately were taken to our table. We ordered drinks and the French soup dumplings. It sounds crazy, but they were a great combination of French Onion soup and Asian dumplings. I wanted my boyfriend to get to have a special dinner for his birthday, and I know he likes a good ribeye and I had seen one on the menu. He said it was one of the best steaks that he has ever had. He liked it much better than the famous Capitol Grill. He really enjoyed the cocktail he ordered as well. I can't remember the name, but it had bourbon with Amarro. I got the double pork chop and it was so good. It came with creamed brussel sprouts which were amazing. We ordered and additional side of the butternut squash hash to share. It was way more food than what we needed!
A lively restaurant with a nice-looking clientele dressed informally: date couples, friend groups, and some business tables. We were frankly surprised at how good the food was. A special shout-out to the scallops. By the way, it ain’t cheap butvwe’re glad we went and shall return.
Took a friends recommendation to try this place. Was totally worth it. Took my parents there for a celebration and they loved it. Our waiter, Andrea was so personable, friendly, and knowledgeable. We all had a great experience. The food and ambiance were both amazing!!
