Lovely time at Graham’s celebrating a dear friend’s birthday. The food was great and the table was ours for the evening. Graham was very welcoming.
One of our go to restaurants in Squaw Valley. The food is very good with a varying menu. The Elk is one of my favorites. The staff is always welcoming and it is good to see the same people year to year. We always enjoy the relaxed but professional service.
We love wonderful food and have no problem paying for a great meal. All of our meals were so not worth the amount of money. Very disappointing. The waitress gave us the brush off and acted like we were a nuisance. The interior decor was not rustic, just out dated and smelled.:(
Sum it up-way overpriced, lack of ambiance and extremely overpriced!
The food was good but not great. Especially when you are paying $40.00 for an entree
Be sure to sit in the bar and ask for Peter. You will be thoroughly entertained.
First time at this restaurant and everything from the moment we entered until we left was amazing. We were greeted and seated by mr Graham, the owner. Table was ready. Food and wine selections were astounding. And on way out, mr graham greeted us again and we really felt welcomed and home. Definitely a must try restaurant if in area.
We dined at Graham’s midweek during our week of skiing at Squaw Valley. Loved our time there. We were greeted by Graham upon arrival. He quickly made us feel welcome, like a friend opening up their home to you.
The dining room is warm and cozy, with a vaulted wood ceiling, and a roaring fire surrounded by a stone hearth. While we were dining as a family, I could easily see how it could be a good date night place too. The restaurant is not noisy, and it was easy to carry conversation. Tables are spaced well so you are not so close to other diners, making you feel like it’s all yours. Our wait staff was also attentive and very pleasant.
We started with a special appetizer which was asparagus/ mushroom/ brie strudel with a sherry cream sauce. It was fabulous! We suggested to Graham, that he might wish to patent the recipe, however, he shared that it’s a centuries old Swiss recipe. They served us fresh baked rolls with an artichoke spread, and we enjoyed it too.
For dinner, My Son had pasta, they don’t print a children’s menu, but they do have several options for kids. My wife had chicken, stuffed with cheese & spinach, I had the ahi tuna. Both dishes are served in their own sauces, for example, my tuna was in a soy cream sauce. Flavors are sophisticated and delicate, exhibiting a confidence that comes from experienced preparation and a talented chef.
Thank you to Graham and the team for a great evening, we will definitely dine with you again on our next trip to Squaw Valley!
Great find on Open Table. We were staying in the village at Squaw Valley. My friend, who comes to Squaw often, had not heard of it, probably due to the habit of just walking to a place in the village itself. Graham's is only a half mile down the road, and well worth the drive. High quality food, some creative twists like the elk chop with lignon berry sauce that I enjoyed. The ice cream dessert with multiple sauces was phenomenal as well.
This was our first time dining at Graham's and we will certainly be back. The food was great (5 Stars for the Elk prime rib), the service was professional and friendly and Graham was the consummate host. We head to Squaw frequently and it was a nice change to not eat in the Village or Tahoe City. Graham's Restaurant is a good friend's favorite restaurant in the area and I now see why.
This was our first visit. Very nice Tahoe vibe. For starters we had the scallops which were delicious and beautifully charred. Followed with a very fresh and light Caesar Salad, very nice. My wife had the Filet Mignon, delicious. I had the Elk Chop and it was very tasty, herbal with a sweet jam. It was 2” thick and the rest of it tasted even better the next day for lunch. Corkage was $30 for our 2009 Caymus SS.
We liked it, recommended.
The best dining experience in Squaw Valley.
Ask for "Graham", you will not be disappointed.
The setting is full of history. As is Graham himself! We enjoyed a drink at the bar and got to hear some of the stories of the house. But what really matters is the food. It was simple, creative, and delicious. The chef’s riff on Japanese, Italian fusion was a highlight: sea bass in panko, fried perfectly, with a Marsala mushroom broth. I’m writing this review a week later and remember it vividly. My only regret is it took me so long to discover Graham’s.
Wonderful- special meal during our ski getaway!! Graham and team are incredible hosts and provided meals we will not forget!!
What a treasure! Graham is there making sure that everyone has an enjoyable experience and the food is delicious. While dining, my ski racing kids met not one but two Olympic skiers.
Graham’s is a great find in Squaw. Graham himself couldn’t have been nicer. When we asked about making the oysters GF for our next dinner there on Friday, he said he’ll make them however we want them! We started with the special tuna carpaccio. The combination of flavors and textures was delicious!! My husband had the special paella which was full of wonderful seafood. I had the duck. The honey lavender sauce made this dish. We are looking to returning later this week.
Got to talk to Paulson descendant original settlers of squaw builders of Graham bldg very interesting. loud foul mouthed Russians seated next to us not so great they left. Mr graham very nice overall I woul reccomend
Overall my dinner I have to say is the best I've ever had at a restaurant in my lifetime outstanding!! Food was amazing from the appetizer to the desert. The owner has been there for 27 years same chef. Had a very nice chat with him. He was very appreciative of my comments. I would highly recommend eating there for a special occasion.
Love this place. I've been there several times. A bit pricey, but the cabin feel and the multiple fireplaces make it unique. But the draw is Graham himself. He is a very friendly happy and enjoyable person who makes every effort to chat with all his guests making everyone feel special.
We recently had a wonderful dinner at Graham’s. We had some unexpected last minute changes to our party size and timing and Graham, himself, was incredibly accommodating and patient with us. The food was excellent and it was a great experience!
Classic mountainside restaurant. Graham is a legend!
We always enjoy going to Graham's when we are up at Tahoe. Great cocktails, delicious food and a nice atmosphere. Definitely recommend it.
Once again, we had an excellent dinner at Grahams. The seafood chowder was excellent and the Caesar was very good. The chocolate mouse cake was a delicious ending to a nice meal.
I have been eating at Grahams for 20 years or so and have never been disappointed. The Staff, that includes Graham himself, are the best. You just have to go there. If you are not up on your wines, the staff will guide you to the price point and quality on the wine list that you desire. They will also describe the menu items precisely, and that is what you will get. If something is not right, they will correct it if possible. I had the Buffalo Rib Eye last week, first Buffalo Steak ever. I will be ordering that up again, DELUXE. If you like French Fries, be careful, you may want to live there.
Staying at Squaw Valley for Valentine’s week. Read the reviews and made a reservation for Valentine’s Day. Arrived about 45 minutes early, hoping to have a drink at the bar. The bar was full and instead of having us wait, they seated us straight away. We loved the ambiance and the fireplace. Ordered the king crab legs and asparagus dishes for appetizers. Fabulous! The butter for the bread was made from artichoke hearts, basil, garlic, and olive oil. Amazing. For the entrees we had the Elk Chop and Bison Ribeye. Both were prepared perfectly. Kerry, our server, did a great job. No charge for corkage. Our dessert, the Linzer Torte, was over the top. We absolutely loved the atmosphere and the food. Excellent dining choice. We will return as a regular spot each time we are in the area.
Food was excellent. Desserts wet fantastic. Older lady serving was very brusque and not helpful, like we didn’t belong there
Wonderful service,food was great!
We were there an hour before our reservations, but they welcomed us and seated us right away. I had the duck breast and my husband had the special pasta. Both were wonderful. We would definitely recommend it to friends.
Perfect, we have found our new favorite restaurant in Squaw Valley.
First time to this restaurant and it was fabulous. Jay our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. They had a creative menu and everything we had was wonderful. We will definitely be back next time we are in Tahoe.
The food and wine are excellent and good value. Ambiance is wonderful. Graham is almost always present and greets his guests. A special place for an apres-ski dinner with fireplaces, no music and no TV.
It was our first time at your restaurant and the experience was excellent👍 The food and ambience were great ! Graham greeted us at the door and also on the way out, which was greatly appreciated🍷 We will return for sure😁
Graham's was wonderful. We requested a table near the fireplace and it was amazing. The food was excellent and Graham was a very gracious host. He greeted everyone by name and came by the table often to check on us and share stories. Although fully booked with reservations, he managed to make room at the bar for a couple who came in last minute. He coordinated transportation for diners staying locally and was truly an amazing host. The place is rich with history and three of the staff have been there working with Graham for the past 27 years. Grahams will be our go to place for a wonderful dining experience every time we are in the area.
Very bad experience at Graham's. Kitchen staff left large pieces of cellophane type plastic sheeting in my salad. Server and manager did not respond sufficiently. They picked up our desert but I was still gagging over the salad experience. This place is still operating the same as it did in the 90s. Very dated and overpriced for what you get. Would never go back.
This is for sure the best restaurant in the area that has been consistently serving super delicious food with top notch service. What makes this restaurant unique is personal approach, plus unique menu and truly the friendliest service! Portion sizes are huge, you can spend entire day skiing in the mountains and show up starving at Graham’s and you will for sure have the most delicious huge meal that will not disappoint!
The food was great, the service was warm, friendly and knowledgeable and the great fireplace in the room makes it all come together.
Great place, great food. Service was excellent. Meet
Consistently the best dining experience in Squaw Valley!
Sea bass was delicious and a big piece of fish! Brie, asparagus, prosciutto appetizer was delicious but very rich...warm bread, delicious and shows care...bubbles always a favorite...nice place...pricey...
Fabulous food. Wonderful service. We are regulars and will continue.
Graham’s was a lovely place to recap our day at Squaw Valley and relax. We had a table for two next to a fireplace, enjoyed a bottle of wine, and otherwise had a wonderful meal. Graham and the staff were very attentive to all the guests — great hospitality. We ordered the filet of beef and the elk chop for our entrees — both cooked to perfection much appreciated after a long day of skiing. We definitely want to dine here again in the future!
