In business for 21 years, Graham's is located in the historical Poulsen family home. Built in 1946, Sandy and Wayne raised 8 children here. Their home now is our restaurant and also the Christy Lodge which has 6 hotel rooms. Just minutes away from all of the activities in Squaw Valley, Graham's has been a favorite Apres Ski and Dinner House to locals and tourists alike. Summertime means bocce ball with Hor's D'oeuvres and cocktails before dinner on our heated patio with spectacular views of the mountain peaks. Winter time is the time to enjoy the warmth and cozy ambiance of a true mountain lodge, open wood burning fireplaces, vaulted ceilings create a unique Tahoe experience. Graham's also has an active bar scene with full menu dining at the bar. Award winning wine list with 450 selections. Menu changes weekly with a good selection of fresh seafood, great steaks and house specials such as seafood chowder, cheese fondue, duck cassoulet, osso bocco and tarte tatin for dessert.

I love the warm ambiance of the fireplace and the booths and that the tables are nicely separated. The service was excellent from the welcome by the owner to the very nice wait staff. I ordered the special paella and the special stuffed smoked salmon. Bothe were the most expensive things on the menu which was not noted when presented to the table. Both were tasty, but the paella was more like a soupy seafood rice dish, none of the crisp bottom or saffron taste that is usually seen with that dish. It was easy to separate the clam and mussel meat from the shells in the dish without wearing it, but leaving the hard tails covered on the shrimp made for a nice mess trying to get them off. Finally had to jump in with fingers to separate the two parts. Don't know what they are left on. I'd recommend that you switch to risotto rice and call it that instead of imitation paella.

Upon entering the restaurant there was a musty smell. We ordered the special paella and it was bland at best. Very soupy and although well stocked with seafood lacked any flavor. The service was fine but would not recommend the restaurant especially considering cost.

Overall a great local, Olympic Valley high-end dinner spot relative to the food experience. Great (but limited) choices of mostly red meat dishes (my wife's seabass was excellent). My lamb shank (the special for the night) was small but very good. A pretty good wine selection too. Our waiter was bland in personality with low-grade service (e.g. Did not continue to fill our wine glass during our main course...we 'self served'. I will go back...but hope to get a different waiter.

There were 6 of us for dinner. We got there at 7:15, which was the time of our reservation.

We didn't see our waitress for 20 minutes although she walked by us, waiting on other tables. A manager finally acknowledges our unhappiness and got us water and menus.

They had also placed us by a large fireplace which that for some, made it very warm and uncomfortable.

The food was just ok, not at the same level as the other 2 restaurants we visited on this ski trip. I had the baked oysters for an appetizer that just had little flavor. My ahi tuna main meal was good but not great.

Their wine list was probably the highlight. There were lots of choices at all price levels.

Also, she automatically added a 20% tip that we all thought was inappropriate.

We had eaten at both Christy Hill and Plumpjack's Cafe the 2 prior nights and unfortunately, Grahams just didn't compare...

Ugh, Graham's is such a beloved restaurant especially for those who stay in Olympic Valley. This was my first time to Graham's and I had heard many great things about the restaurant so we were really looking forward to our visit.

When we first walked in there was a subtle, but a bit off-putting, scent in the air; probably just a winter-issue where they couldn't open the windows too often, I thought.

I loved the decor - it reminded me of quaint Austrian or Swiss restaurants in the Alps.

Our appetizer, a fabulous smoked salmon dish with really interesting flavors, got me more excited about what was to come. Plus, the bread was very warm and wonderfully tasty.

Next, however, came the calamari. The pieces of calamari were greasy and there was a pool of oil at the bottom of the dish. We ate it 'happily' reflecting on such a great first course.

Then came the special of the night which my companion and I consider ourselves great connoisseurs of - paella. They didn't mention the price, but I accept responsibility for not asking. To their credit they split the entree for us.

So, as you probably know (not to be confused with the Graham's kitchen - ouch, petty), paella usually comes in a cast iron 'paella' pan where much of the rice (Bomba) sticks to the pan because of the fabulous flavorful curing process during cooking. What we got, however, were two bowls of non-savory rice with various seafood and fish on top. It was not tasty, it did not seem fresh (our fault for ordering seafood in the mountains) and it was definitely overpriced. $40 for the entree.

Admittedly, we may be outliers. When we left the restaurant was packed. So obviously lots of people know and love Graham's. We discussed it the next day and are willing to give it another chance. But it wasn't what I hoped for. I hope this review is not too negative; I just want others, as well as the restaurant, to know it's not up to par.

We were a party of 7 that night- most everyone enjoyed the food. However, there was a strong smell in the restaurant that colored our experience - something like a barn. We asked the staff, and they shrugged it off, I guess having gotten used to the smell, saying it had something to do with the heavy snowfall on the roof. We joked about hoping nothing had died in the snowfall, but I think the restaurant staff should understand that smelling like manure in a barn is not appealing to diners, especially in what should be a fine dining experience. Anyway it was a shame as the food overall was good. I would not recommend the cassoulet as it was not well presented, seasoned, or tasty - just three types of meats stewed in some brown beans - the sausage was heavy, chewy, and not edible. I should have gotten the elk. The wine was good but pricey.

The evening was very nice and the food was ok, we felt the menu was a little bit out of date, and trying
To be something it wasn’t, not quite fine dining, but fine dining prices.
Service was very good and everyone was very friendly, I think our expectations from other diners reviews was probably a bit too high.

Graham's is not cheap, but the quality is very high indeed. Do try the snow crab legs. Excellent wine list, including some real bargains (for the quality) in the $100 range. Not noisy, absolutely not comparable to the assorted eateries in the village. Nice fireplace. Just the right place to have a decent Dinner after a day on the slopes.

One of the best restaurants in Tahoe area. We have eaten here for years and the food, service,ambiance and intangibles are very special. It is s but pricey but worth every penny as the entire operation is exceptional.

This traditional classic restaurant is elegant and still feels like Tahoe. The warm welcome, delicious food, and great service never disappoints. Generous portions, and top notch ingredients. We wouldn't visit Squaw Valley without visiting Graham's.

Warm, friendly atmosphere. Was there on Valentine's and they did not make us feel rushed in order to seat another party. Food was fabulous. The seafood chowder was so good. The owner and staff treat you like you are old friends. Wonderful and memorable meal. Thank you.

Went to Graham's for VD. We requested a table next to the fireplace and we got the table for two at the upper fireplace. It was 20 degrees outside, so it was perfect! Ordered the cassole and NY steak with gorgonzola. Both were terrific. We also had the salad and baked oysters for appetizers. Both yummy. It always fun chatting with Graham. The bar was lively.

We had dinner at Graham's on Valentine's day. We made reservations about 10 days prior. It was snowing heavily and the wind was gusting. We took the short trip to Graham's from Olympic Village Inn using the Mountaineer service. We had a wonderful meal and were attended with professionalism. As the evening rolled on, the room got louder and louder. Lots of people knew each other. Our meals were served at the ideal temperature and dessert was scrumptious. Overall, it was a wonderful Valentine's Day experience. We would do it again.

Not knowing what we were about to experience we were taken for a total surprise! Highly recommend making reservations here!!

First, Graham himself was seated at the bar and personally welcomed every person who arrived for there reservation. We sat at this charming spot right in front of the fireplace that the owners built so many years ago.
Mr. Poulsen (Olympic skier and one of 8 children raised in this home) and his wife were casually seated at the bar enjoying dinner. Our waitress was outstanding, knew the menu well, helped us make choices, was attentive, and even brought me to the lower lever to explain one of the images on the wall.
All in all it was a wonderful experience. Great food, kind company, and a warm and inviting evening from start to finish.
Thank you for keeping such charm alive Graham! We will be back in the future for sure!

Buffalo ribeye, Quail and apple tartin were particularly delicious. Exemplary service with atmosphere set perfectly with wood burning fire place in main dining. Great historic Squaw location, easily walkable from the Village. Ask for server Alejandro.

Graham is the consummate host, and seeks to make your dinner an experience as much as a meal. We were seated at the fireplace table which was romantic but also near the entrance and the bar. We got to see and then experience Graham’s charm with every guest, and his ability to bring everyone in the area into a fun, convivial conversation. The food is very good, the wine list outstanding and the bartender is an absolute genius (ask for any of the traditional cocktails and learn how they were meant to be made).

Our favorite restaurant in the Valley ... great ambiance and wonderful plates on both of my visits. Particularly loved the NY strip and the apple tart. Sea bass and duck preparations were also hits at the table. Looking forward to our next visit and exploring the menu more!

We have been coming to this delicious restaurant for the past 15 years and it’s been consistently outstanding in terms of excellent service, really creative menu and very yummy food! The restaurant looks like straight out of storybook setting with floor to ceiling windows, huge fireplace and warm people who work here. Highly recommend this Tahoe gem :)

The food location views and service was excellent. Really enjoyed the creativity of the items on the menu. The wine list was more than I know about. The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars in every category is that they have some type of sewer odor in the main dining room. The smell really took my breath away when we first came in. After you sit down for a
while you kind of get used to it but it is very noticeable. Other guests also noticed the smell. Other than that the fireplace was awesome, the food was delicious the service was. It really should check into venting their sewer. I would eat there again and hope they had that problem fixed before I could return. My husband had the elk for the first time and he loved it.

We had a horrible experience with the owner and bartender. They dropped our card on the floor when we tried to pay. When we said there was a card missing they said we were accusing them. They yelled at us and were remarkably unprofessional. I was shocked. Will never go back.

Excellent food and service and great reception upon arriving at the restaurant. Highly recommend and will definitely visit again when in the Tahoe area. Very nice ambiance with two fireplaces, real candles and nice big windows.

The first course was delicious. We had the chowder, asparagus and beet salad. The entree was disappointing. The sea bass special was rubbery; the buffalo rib eye was too charred; the chicken roulade was dry and sauce was bland. Lastly, sausage in the cassoulet was tough.
