Grady's Grille Ratings and Reviews
Always a good meal here. One of my favorite sandwiches was the bacon, egg, cheeseburger. My newest favorite is the hot corned beef (half pound)w/sauerkraut on marbled rye w/thousand island dressing. The wife still likes the salad topped with a huge piece of salmon. The service is good and the prices are reasonable. A local favorite for us. Sorry they discontinued their customer loyalty card program. This will not keep us from going back.
We have eaten at Grady's numerous times, and it seems we either love it or dislike it. There are certain dishes we love, but they aren't consistently good, and the service ranges from fantastic to inattentive. We continue to go back when we are in the area, always hoping for the best. The newer grilled cheese sandwich was pretty disappointing--nothing better than I make at home.
Grady's Grille is a lively modern place for either a lunch with friends or a date night. The food was fresh and delicious. My blackened catfish had just the right spiciness and the garlic mashed potatoes and spinach were a nice complement. We all ordered seafood: tilapia, shrimp and grits, and shrimp tacos, and all were very satisfied! The service could have been a little faster, however, but it was a Saturday night. Also it does get noisy. Overall
very fun, and delicious food!👍
Grady's has a light and airy space that feels welcoming, but that was the best element of our Saturday evening dinner. Service was poor and food was below average. A Cajun chicken pasta was infused with so much garlic that it was almost inedible, and I love garlic. Our server took the trouble to remind us that the grilled cheese platter came with an accompanying side order. She took our order and then never brought the side. We reminded her twice and she finally brought the sweet potato fries (which were tasty) at the end of our meal. The grits in the shrimp and grits were watery and dull. The Korean tacos had a sugary sweet sauce that canceled out any spice that was added. The portions were ample for all the entrees, but who wanted to take home leftovers?
We loved our meal here! It was amazing food! Our service was fine as well. A little slow to serve us after we had been seated, but after that, everything was fine. The food is absolutely delicious! We liked the upbeat vibe of the place too. But it's really really bright in there. I'm surprised such a cute place doesn't invest in some dimmer switches. The canned lights are just shining on you the whole time. It would be the perfect ambiance if they just toned it down a little in there. But we will definitely be back.
Had reservations and were seated on time, but waitress did not come by for for at least 15 minutes. The manager saw this and took our drink order. We ordered our food with an appetizer which you would hope they would bring before the meal. We ended up asking the manger to bring it be use the waitress was MIA. Too late, the food came out minutes afterward the appetizer.
All the other waitresses were showing deserts to their tables, our server just came by and passed if she could bring the check. Overall poor service.
Great for kids and families or a casual night out. Lots of comfort food done right, with a few menu surprises thrown in for good measure. Slightly low-key dishes in a slightly upscale atmosphere. Lots of attention at the table from the bus and kitchen staff, but our server was inattentive or maybe overloaded.
My husband and I are planning a move to the area and wanted to try some of the local restaurants. Grady's Grill was a real find. The decor was clean and modern. The service was great and our server was able to give personal recommendations.
The food was GREAT! The portion sizes were plentiful and the prices reasonable. The food was flavorful and I look forward to coming back again.
There are too few better dining options in suburban Chicago; you're relegated to a chain or Greek-owned-diner. Our travels led us to Grady's Grill in Homewood; based upon OpenTable reviews. Before I make dining decisions, I've always made a point to chat up the waitstaff prior to ordering; those first few moments are an excellent indicator what to expect from the kitchen. In this case, our server acted as though he'd been brought out of the freezer moments before coming to our table; I'm talking cadaver here folks. My wife ordered a patty melt, not rocket science by any stretch, and the kitchen managed to kill the cow twice - it was that well-done. Surprisingly, a recommended special, panko fried whitefish with capers in a mild (fresh) tomato ragout and grilled vegetables, was delicious. The twist was the waiter bringing two plated specials by our table so that we could see the entrees up close; I wish more restaurants would do this. By dessert, our server had sufficiently thawed to a semblance of concern over our meal, drinks, our general well-being, etc. Sadly, one home run doesn't win the series.
What a great place to eat and drink. Donna our server/bartender was awesome. She made you feel at home, had great recommendations and was very attentive. We enjoyed the homemade guacamole & salsa with chips, their fabulous bbq beef sandwich and prime rib panini. We always enjoy the food and appreciate the creative specials the chef makes. If you are in the area or just want some really great food and drinks, stop by Grady's Grille.
P.S. Monday's is sangria night...their homemade red and white sangria are amazing!
Quaint spot near my neighborhood which was the main reason why my mother & sister wanted patronize. The food menu hasn't dazzled nor changed much since the last time I've eaten here which was a while ago. Plenty of patrons in attendance which is good. The drink menu is ok, prices aren't listed for cocktails although it is for everything else. Had a pomegranate Margarita served in a jar glass that was underwhelming & lacked flavor. This restaurant doesn't cater to non meat eaters, dairy free options or gluten free. Basically behind the times given the neighborhood & location. Our server was nice.
I invited two good friends to lunch at Grady's Grill. I had lunched here previously with my husband. We were seated and the waiter came over and introduced himself. I guess I was taking a bit too long to make up my mind on my drink order because he looked at me and said, "it's not rocket science"
Never heard that before. Wouldn't have mentioned it but there were a couple more snarky comments in response to what we thought were reasonable menu questions.
Have to say he did reseat us after we pointed out the condensation dripping on us from the above pipes.
We were well pleased with our food. Red sangria was the best I've ever had.
Phenomenal every time here. Love the ambiance maybe best of all, cool city casual flare (like a rooftop terrace) in the suburbs. Atmosphere a perfect energy, not too loud, for a long 10-seater table of friends. Great menu with plenty of choices, and an attentive server. Consider one of the flatbreads as an appetizer. Always a favorite!
