Gracie's Ratings and Reviews
The waiter was curt not really friendly - to point of taking order and serving food. Not a conversationalist. My husband's rigatoni dish seemed to be microwaved to heat up - not in the middle very lukewarm elsewhere. Had a better time when we first went there May - staff was very friendly then.
Love Gracies. Always deliciously prepared food that, while the menu remains familiar, is fresh, and changes to highlight seasonal ingredients keep things interesting. I usually do the three course prix fixe because i do not have a large appetite but would love to try one of the other tasting menus sometime. And the small touches-great service and little dessert surprises are just icing on the cake.
We love Gracie's! Not only is the food excellent every time but Gracie's seems to specialize in customer care. They excel at accommodating dietary restrictions (religious or otherwise), making diners feel welcome and comfortable, and doing all the extra things to make diners' experience exceptional. We always look forward to the surprise cookies from the valet and other unexpected treats during the meal. (The seating by the front windows gets chilly in winter so you may not want to check your coat.)
We tried the 5 course tasting menu with wine pairings and we were blown away! The place, food and service were impeccable, and made the experience wonderful. I can not wait for the next special occasion to go back and I hope we get the same waiters. Highly recommendable!
They clearly overbooked for the second seating for the eve. We got there at 8:45pm for a 9:15 reservation hoping to get a drink at the bar. The hostess told us that they had no space at the bar and we had to stand up against a wall. There was plenty of space but only one seat left. We tried to get the bartender’s attention but she completely ignored us. Luckily as I was starting to get irritated a nice employee told us he would get us a cocktail. We were fine standing there for a while until it started getting crowded at the hostess stand. We stood there uncomfortably, watching other people with the same time reservations leaving. We were offered complementary sparkling wine and they apologized for the wait. We would have been more confortable had we been allowed in the bar area. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t let us. A zoning issue?? We were finally seated at a fabulous enclosed table at 9:45. Our service was impecable throughout our whole meal. We got the swordfish and scallops with a cheese platter to start. The meals were not the best I have had but the service made up for it!
This was one of my favorite dining experiences ever. The food was impeccable, the service was top notch. They thought of every last detail, down to complimentary cava as we were waiting for our table to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday, a card and just the right amount of confetti on the table. We opted for the 5 course tasting menu with the wine pairings and each one was better than the one before. Courses were perfectly timed. While definitely pricey, we could not have been happier with our time at Gracie's and hope to be back!
Gracie's exceeded our expectations on every front -- the service, cocktails, wine and, most importantly, food were all exceptional. Added points for not even remotely rushing us through our leisurely dinner even though it was a packed Saturday night. Wonderful dining experience.
We dined here for our anniversary and it was an amazing time! We did the 7-course blind tasting menu and it did not disappoint! It was truly an experience, and the service was some of the best I have ever had. We had some confetti and an anniversary card on our table which was a really nice touch. Highly recommended!
Gracie's is the place to go for attentive, respectful service, great culinary creations, and a casual yet elegant environment.
The staff is dedicated to making your dining experience as wonderful as possible. We had tickets to the theatre, and the wait staff knew that from my making the reservation, conformed that they would have us out in time and indeed did do, 5 minutes sooner than they had promised.
The chef has a real talent for using local ingredients in unusual ways, and the presentation and flavors were top notch.
We love coming to Gracie's whenever our schedule allows.
Gracie’s went out of their way to make me feel special on my birthday - from the candlelit table with a birthday message; to each elegant and delicious course. The service was very attentive- offering little palette cleansing treats between courses and superbly paired wines to compliment my meal; topping off the night with the pistachio chocolate mousse was heavenly.
We’ll definitely recommend to our friends.
I had a 7:15 resev. I made months ago we had tickets to a show at PPAC. We arrived early at 7:05, hotess said they were setting the table it would be a few minutes. At 7:25 my boyfriend went up to hostess to ask if our table was ready yet she said oh I was just coming to get you. He came back to the bar area to tell me and we still waited. She finally comes to get us and sits us at a table in front of the window in the bar area. Not only was the tables on top of the people on the side of us, it was freezing cold. We then asked to move over one table to not be so cramped which was still cold and small. My boyfriend then went back up to hostess to ask for a different table in the dining room she said they were all full. The manager then came over to explain the restaurant was full and we could start eating at the table we were at and they would then move us into the dining room once a table opens. I don't know about you but I would like to eat my whole meal in one place. Our only other choice was to sit at the bar. She did say she could move the electric heater over to try and warm us up. We chose to sit at the bar so we moved. Once again the manager was trying her best to accommodate us. Once at the bar the bartender was super busy and did not take the time explain the menu to us. There were many options either a 3 or 5 course menu or a pre fix menu. We had to ask and we were still confused . Waiter came over with bread to ask us what kind we would like, we had no bread dishes to put it on. We ordered dinner and the food was good, but we definitely lost the whole restaurant experience. They didn't take anything off the bill at all, they gave us a complimentary half glass of champagne. I don't drink and my boyfriend doesn't even like champagne. They should have at least credited his glass of wine. Just disappointing I made the reservation months ago and we didn't get to eat in the dining room. Would not go back!!
We had a wonderful dinner this past Friday evening at Gracie's before attending a show at the Providence Performing Arts Center. It was our first time dining here and we look forward to going back. The staff was warm and welcoming, and very cognizant of our need to be on time for a 7:00 show. ( we had a 5:00 reservation) This is fine dining in a very comfortable atmosphere. For appetizers, we sampled the Scallops Crudo, Grilled Octopus, Gnocchi, and Squash and Apple salad. Entrees included Ribeye Steak, Scallops and Swordfish. Everything was just delicious and the amuse bouches , creative breads and complimentary macarons at dinner's end were fun additions to a great meal!! Highly Recommend!!
Very nice evening. Service and food were great with just a few small missteps. Sweet bread appy was good but the thick crunchy batter overwhelmed the delicate nature of the meat. Amuse bouches were great. The cornbread a and sour dough bread were great but the dinner roll was a definite miss.
Duck entree was perfectly rendered, cooked and seasoned. Rigatoni was perfectly cooked although the sauce was a bit uninspiring and the sausage was more bland than described.
The mouse dessert was a bit dense and had some disjointed flavors. The best part was the candied buddha's hand. Wine selection was good.
Overall a very nice evening & might consider trying it again.
Spectacular! Manny and Nadine were terrific servers; so pleasant and fun, they were an integral part of our special evening. All food and drink was over the top incredible, both in presentation and taste. I love the high end food and service in such a relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere; an amazing combination that Gracie's has down.
We greatly appreciated the attention to my reservation note about our dinner being a special occasion for my daughter. The glitter on the table upon arrival and the bubbles once we were seated were a perfect beginning.
One of our favorite restaurants in New England, Gracie's continues to deliver high quality service and cuisine with a thoughtful wine list; all, at reasonable pricing. The meals are elevated and artful without pretension. We have had a two year hiatus since our last visit and can happily report that the experience has gotten stronger. That is a rarity.
I thoroughly endorse Gracie's for those having a special occasion or a special evening out.
This was our first visit to Gracie's in a couple of years. We enjoyed an amazing dinner experience before a show at PPAC. The initial welcome from the Valet, the lovely woman at the desk, and various service staff was wonderful, as was the food and drink. We will definitely be returning before too long.
Gracie’s was fantastic. Service was stellar from everything to refilling water, bread and serving our meals. Our waitstaff was excellent in explaining what everything was. The food was delicious. Our party was there for restaurant week so the meal was very affordable. Menu does seem a bit pricey otherwise, but I would love to return for a special occasion sometime in the future!
Gracie's, as always, had excellent service and amazing food. The spoon-sized tastings in between courses were delightful as well! As the person driving, I am very grateful for Gracie's non-alcoholic beverage pairings. I love going here for special occasions.
This first time visit to Gracie’s during restaurant week, and before a theater performance, was a perfect choice. Very attentive service, nicely prepared food and good wine advice, coupled with an accommodating response to a highway-accident induced late arrival that affected us and several other patrons, made for a lovely repast. We’ll certainly be back!
We went for Providence restaurant week and had the 3 course tasting. Everything was excellent! All fresh local ingredients. Service was superb, very attentive but not intrusive. This restaurant is great for a date or special occasions, atmosphere is quiet. The décor is tasteful.
My boyfriend and I went to Gracie's during Restaurant Week for our anniversary, and the service and food were both incredible. We especially loved the gnocchi, duck, and creme brûlée. It was a fantastic experience for great value. Our servers were attentive and kind, and all of them seemed to know it was a special occasion for us.
