Gracie's Ratings and Reviews
Went here during Restaurant Week for our wedding anniversary. What a great deal for exceptional food and service. The staff made sure we were well taken care of and that our evening was just as special as the occasion we were celebrating. We may have to make this an anniversary tradition!
This was the best dining experience of my life. I took my fiancé here for his birthday dinner and it was completely worth it. We have never had better service or better food. The wine pairings elevated every dish. We did the 7 course chefs tasting menu with wine pairings.
My friend and I went specifically to experience the chef’s tasting menu. I have a gluten allergy and she can’t have dairy and they were so accommodating to both of us (even down to the after dinner treats that they brought with the check). The food was spectacular and our server and team of waitstaff were so amazing and attentive. I would highly recommend Gracie’s to anyone.
I invited a family to join me at Gracie's based on reviews only, as I am from out of town. We could not have been more surprised - and sated - by our meal! As a gluten-free vegan, I am used to eating at the edges of culinary delight, looking on in vicarious and olfactory interest, but my dishes and the bread was just extraordinary. The service was ideal, not too much, not too little attention and I could try every single amuse-bouche, which we loved. The ambience is deliciously warm and cozy and the noise level made us so happy because we could hear each other talking.
My husband and I celebrated New Year's Eve at Gracie's. For the event, all patrons chose from a 5-, 7-, or 9-course prix-fixe tasting menu, with or without wine pairings. We chose the 5-course with wine pairing option. Our courses ranged from a roasted beet salad; pumpkin tortellini; halibut; wagyu beef; and chocolate mousse. The food and accompanying wine pairings were excellent. As we were dining late on NYE we were further treated to champagne and noisemakers with which to ring in the New Year.
As repeat patrons, we've noticed that Gracie's doesn't appear to suffer from the high level of employee turnover that is typical of restaurants. Whether a result of this or not, the service level is very high. My only complaint about Gracie's--ever--is the noise level; but with such good food, wine, and service, I'm not surprised that patrons are enjoying themselves! Gracie's is my favorite restaurant in area--including Boston proper.
Gracie's was absolutely amazing! Not only was the food hands-down the best I have ever had, the service and atmosphere were truly outstanding. The restaurant is quiet and charming, beautifully decorated, and dimly lit (romantic and cozy but not so low that vision is impaired). There is a coat check at the door, pillows at your seat, and a full staff of warm-hearted, well-trained, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful people there to satisfy your every need. My boyfriend was even escorted to the restroom after asking where it was located! There are complimentary hors d'oeuvres, palette cleansers, and after-dinner coffee, as well as three different types of bread which is offered generously throughout the meal. The salad we both had for our first course was so delicious, and foreshadowed the wonderful remainder of the meal to come. I had the duck for my main entree, and my boyfriend ordered the rigatoni - the duck was so soft and practically slipped off the bone, and was accompanied by a myriad of lovely flavors, while the rigatoni well-exceeded expectations for what would normally be a simple pasta dish. For dessert, my boyfriend chose the best creme brulee I have ever tasted, while I selected a maple pine nut tart which was absolutely to die for. Of course, it is a bit pricey, as to be expected. After dining there, however, I would honestly pay double the amount for such a special experience. Additionally, despite the rather upscale nature of the restaurant, the waitstaff made us (two college students not well acquainted with fine dining) feel very comfortable and welcome. Finally, at the end of our meal, we were presented with a New Year's gift, a voucher for two free cocktails which we opened on New Year's day (per their instruction). Overall, Gracie's was an absolutely fantastic restaurant, and we will definitely be returning in the future!
This is definitely a place to consider dining for a special occasion while in Providence. With Complimentary Valet Parking it is just a short walk to either Trinity Rep or PPAC. Food is expertly prepared and presented in small portions that do not overwhelm. Wait staff work as a team so there is no one person who is assigned to you and your party.
food was delicious, service was great. However the lady sat us literally on top of another couple trying enjoy a 5 course tasting, my wife and I were trying to enjoy the 3 course dessert tasting. Needless to say it was very awkward for the four of us, it would have been understandable if the restaurant was full but it was maybe half way seated the enitre time I was there. I have zero interest in returning.
Spent a lot of money and was expecting a lot more ! Service was horrible ! Ran out of breads to server forgot our meal and did a 5 course pairing and waitress couldn’t even explain the food and kept looking at her pad! Put us in a middle of dinning room near a door very drafty and not to mention the restuarant was very noisy and hostess seemed stress and annoyed and overwhelmed ! Although the food was excellent but for the price of what ur paying it should be ! Did the drink pairing And forgot to of the pairings with the meal ! All messed up ! Too bad had high hopes for this restaurant ! Will not return for what we spent and value
Food was very good but the service left much to be desired. very inconsistent service - started off very nicely but the time between courses was all over the place. Butter was placed on the table but no mention of bread until we asked later. At one point we waited 35 min between courses while an adjacent table was served 2 courses during this time span. When we flagged down a server and asked about the delay they came back after awhile and said the kitchen had to remake one of the dishes due to a food allergy; later we asked for additional bread and had to remind the server to bring it. As we were awaiting our final dessert course of the 7 course tasting menu, the server brought a couple of macarons and the check. We had to tell her we were still waiting on the final course. We then had to wait another 20 min for the dessert. When the check finally arrived, it was for someone else’s table. All in all we will never go back.
We ate at Gracie's for the first time on Dec. 27, 2017 to celebrate our anniversary. With a 5pm reservation and excellent service, our meal was relaxed and unrushed, and yet we finished in time to make the 7o'clock show at PPAC - perfect!
The meal was truly excellent ... I had the Sea Scallops, my husband the Rigatoni ... creatively prepared and perfectly cooked, with a combination of ingredients just a bit out of the ordinary ... delicious! Our waiter-waitress team was very knowledgeable about the menu, and remained attentive but never intrusive. The holiday decor was lovely, and our table in a corner was quiet and romantic, just as we had requested. We highly recommend Gracie's and we definitely look forward to dining there again.
For the past five years, we have enjoyed our holiday dinners at Gracie's. This year we did the 5 course tasting menu with wine pairings prior to going to a show at Trinity Rep. Our 5 pm reservation was perfect to allow us to leisurely enjoy the fantastic food and drink and company. The service was outstanding, our table was festive, and the food remarkable. Well done once again. We will be back again next year!
Gracie's is a wonderful restaurant, and the food was great. But the service that night was a little slow, and we informed them when we were seated that we had a 7:30 curtain at Trinity Square. At one point I got up to approach the hostess stand, but she was too busy to help me. We did get served with about a half hour left before the show started. We were seated at an out-of-the way table, and that probably didn't help. I don't blame the servers, Nicole and Gabriel, who were both very nice. However, we were visited by someone from the hostess stand at one point, and when I asked a question about the menu, she was a little surly and condescending. I think this is a management problem.
I loved it, but my friend had the spicy mac and cheese, and had problems later. I still LOVE the decor, the service, the free and AWESOME little desserts handed out at the hostess stand (ad hoc). The weather was really rough, but the friendly warm ambience shook the winter right out of us.
