Gracie's Ratings and Reviews
Great place for a special occasion or any time you want to be treated like a favored guest. The food is terrific, the wine pairings were great, and my non-alcohol drinking guest had delightful non-alcoholic drinks which paired perfectly with his meal.
If the prices feel too much for your budget you can have a lovely evening with appetizers and drinks at the bar. It still feels like a special evening.
We went to Gracie's after a meeting downtown. We had never been there before , but had heard the name somewhere. The service was outstanding and the food was even better. I had the rigatoni. I will go back and get it again. My wife had the swordfish and she is still talking about it. The heirloom tomato salad was wonderful. Thanks for a memorable meal. A little expensive, but worth it.
A very pleasant surprise with a last minute reservation. From the seasonal cocktail through the wine selections and the courses including the cheeses, each element was thoughtful and well prepared. Service was a bit slow but they may have been giving us time versus the usual hustle at some other venues. We will be back.
Very expensive lackluster 3 course meal. Our server kept suggesting that we get comfortable with our drinks and disappearing for extended periods. Very erratic. Bread was hard to come by –– doled out with tongs one crumb at a time. My main course pasta dish was just blah. For this $$$$ they have got to be on their game.
We had the delight of enjoying dinner here for my partner's birthday. From the moment we walked in the door you could feel it was going to be a great experience.
The staff is so pleasant. Their entire place is friendly from the hostess to the waitress to the bussers.
They have a wonderful cocktail menu. We started with a cocktail while we decided what to order. We both decided to do the 3 course prix fix with wine pairings.
Before the first course they brought us a roasted beet appetizer. Wow. It was good.
We both had heirloom tomato salad. All of there food is from their own gardens or local farmers. The tomatoes were so fresh and sweet. Perfect summer flavors
The breads are all made by their pastry chef. One kind was better than the next. We tried all 4 types they offered that night. The focaccia bread was light and airy and tasty. My favorite of the night.
My partner had duck breast that he said was prepared perfectly and was very tasty. I had rigatoni with ricotta salada. It was very tasty. At this point I was already full but I could not stop eating the pasta.
Dessert was cream brûlée for me and goat cheese cake for my partner. Both were tasty. The brûlée was crunchy on top and smooth and creamy underneath. The cake was topped with a cheese frosting. It was very good.
Since neither of us drink red wine they did pairings for us with whites. We enjoyed each one. With first course you get a 2oz glass, with the main a full glass and with dessert a 1oz glass. Not too much but enough to enjoy wines you might not buy a full bottle of without knowing how they taste. We found 2 wines that we will now buy at home.
Gracies, your restaurant and food are terrific. Continued success to you. Next time we are in Providence we will be sure to come back.
First: Gracie's remains my favorite Boston-area restaurant. However, the entrée choices this time were not as outstanding as I've experienced in the past. Three of us ordered from the 3-course tasting menu; the fourth ordered a la carte. Two of us ordered the monkfish as our main entrée (tasty, but one of us thought the fish was a bit chewy); a third ordered ribeye and was less than thrilled with the cut; the fourth ordered rigatoni and was very happy. As usual, the wine choices, desserts, and service were tops. The sommelier and pastry chef are all-stars at Gracie's.
Gracie's is extraordinary. We made a seating request via Open Table and it was respected by the attentive hostess. Service was impeccable. The server (Sarah) fully answered every question about the extensive menu and explained the selection of each wine pairing. She paced each course perfectly. The food, the food....oh my! Exceptional in flavor and presentation. Seasonal ingredients, cooked to perfection, starred in every imaginative dish. Plus, we could carry on a conversation comfortably due to the pleasant noise level. We felt fortunate to dine at Gracie's. A delightful and memorable experience.
Gracie's is amazing. Well trained staff brought us the most terrific food! I was there for a business dinner. While I think it's really a romantic restaurant, it's also great for a small business dinner because it's quiet. We were able to have a very productive conversation. The food is very flavorful and light. The soft boiled egg was the best first course I've had in years, and the scallops for my entree were perfectly cooked. Highly recommended.
We always come here on our anniversary and are never disappointed. My husband had the vegetarian entree and gave it high marks; I had the duck and it too was wonderful and a very large portion, too. Desserts are sublime and they send you off with a few homemade cookies or some other little homemade nosh. Service is very gracious and attentive. Go, you'll love it.
I made a reservation for two and was not disappointed. The food was fantastic and the service was impeccable (we had the 7 course tasting menu). There was a wagu beef dish that was excellent and a foie gras dish that was also amazing. There was also a cheese platter that was good but exceptional (not a fan of blue cheese though it wasn't bad). There was a 4 and a 9 course but 7 was just enough for us.
It's the little touches that make this restaurant special. It was for a an anniversary and they had a card at our table wishing us a happy anniversary. The table was decorated for the occasion and made it a very memorable dining experience. I highly recommend Gracie's.
As always, Gracie's never fails to live up to the hype and expectation! From the impeccable service, to the interesting food options, to the cookies that the valet leaves in your car, your entire dining experience here is unforgettable. The food is very interesting, and changes with the seasons. Although a bit limited, you will surely find something to impress you. This place is great for a special occasion or a date night.
Great service, food was incredible. One of my favorites! Cheese plate never disappoints and the assorted sweets dessert plate had something for every taste. signature cocktails on point - loved the let's try this again and 52nd street. Yum! Highly recommend.
Still our favorite restaurant in RI...consistently fabulous, delicious and an "experience".
Wine sommelier Allan is so knowledgeable. General manager Stephen and owner Ellen along with Chef Matt Varga ensure that every dining occasion is memorable and personalized.
Bravo!! and Thank you!!
The food here was outstanding and absolutely delicious! The setting is lovely and the service is quite attentive. I have to emphasize the freshness and uniqueness of the food preparation. This was absolutely the best restaurant we tried when in Providence and is outstanding on any scale of comparison!
A wonderful experience at Gracie's. The food is amazing, and the service is second to none. My only complaint (which is minor) was that the temperature was a bit warm in the restaurant - which I didn't mind too much since I am always cold, but my boyfriend was uncomfortable.
Gracie's was AMAZING! We had the seven course tasting menu and the courses ranged from very good to sublime (which, in my opinion, is an outstanding tasting menu!). Wine pairings were also nicely done and their beverage director is very knowledgeable. Sarah and Rachel, our servers, were both excellent. The service was extremely professional without being stuffy, which is what I prefer. I really think this restaurant is an undiscovered New England gem. We loved it so much that we'll gladly make the 1.5 hour drive to return.
We came from NYC and NH to meet in the middle to celebrate our major milestone birthdays together. We decided on the nine course tasting menu and could not have been more pleased. Wonderful, imaginative and locally sourced food came out in perfectly sized plates which arrived just as the flavors of last course began to recede and our appetites renewed. Wine pairings were spot on. Gracie's is spacious and elegant, with well-spaced tables and good acoustics. The service was smart, charming and professional and we were made to feel most welcome, even as we closed the place down as the last guests. Highly recommended.
Duck was amazing. Medium-rare, melted in my mouth. We had a goat cheese cheesecake for dessert. I'm not a cheesecake fan, but this was very delicious. I'm glad that I tried this dish. All sfaffs were very friendly and professional. We stayed in Providence for 4 days. This restaurant was the best one there. They have a valet parking. When we got back in our car, we found a small packet of cookies from Gracie's in the car. Nice touch!
Absolutely marvelous meal: a beautiful balanced nuanced menu with just enough choices: a pris fixe menu that was exquisite (so often restaurants create these so that you WON'T order from them but every choice was lovely.
The amuse-bouches were delicious. Our friends said their octopus was the best (most flavorful and tender) that they had ever had. All three courses were exceptional. The service was excellent.
I think this ranks among the top three dinners we've had in Providence in over 15 years here!
