We dined here for our anniversary and it was an amazing time! We did the 7-course blind tasting menu and it did not disappoint! It was truly an experience, and the service was some of the best I have ever had. We had some confetti and an anniversary card on our table which was a really nice touch. Highly recommended!
Gracie's is the place to go for attentive, respectful service, great culinary creations, and a casual yet elegant environment.
The staff is dedicated to making your dining experience as wonderful as possible. We had tickets to the theatre, and the wait staff knew that from my making the reservation, conformed that they would have us out in time and indeed did do, 5 minutes sooner than they had promised.
The chef has a real talent for using local ingredients in unusual ways, and the presentation and flavors were top notch.
We love coming to Gracie's whenever our schedule allows.
Gracie’s went out of their way to make me feel special on my birthday - from the candlelit table with a birthday message; to each elegant and delicious course. The service was very attentive- offering little palette cleansing treats between courses and superbly paired wines to compliment my meal; topping off the night with the pistachio chocolate mousse was heavenly.
We’ll definitely recommend to our friends.
It was amazing! They set us upon a private booth & decorated the table with confetti (we were here to celebrate a promotion and a birthday). We got the seven course tasting and it was AWESOME!
I had a 7:15 resev. I made months ago we had tickets to a show at PPAC. We arrived early at 7:05, hotess said they were setting the table it would be a few minutes. At 7:25 my boyfriend went up to hostess to ask if our table was ready yet she said oh I was just coming to get you. He came back to the bar area to tell me and we still waited. She finally comes to get us and sits us at a table in front of the window in the bar area. Not only was the tables on top of the people on the side of us, it was freezing cold. We then asked to move over one table to not be so cramped which was still cold and small. My boyfriend then went back up to hostess to ask for a different table in the dining room she said they were all full. The manager then came over to explain the restaurant was full and we could start eating at the table we were at and they would then move us into the dining room once a table opens. I don't know about you but I would like to eat my whole meal in one place. Our only other choice was to sit at the bar. She did say she could move the electric heater over to try and warm us up. We chose to sit at the bar so we moved. Once again the manager was trying her best to accommodate us. Once at the bar the bartender was super busy and did not take the time explain the menu to us. There were many options either a 3 or 5 course menu or a pre fix menu. We had to ask and we were still confused . Waiter came over with bread to ask us what kind we would like, we had no bread dishes to put it on. We ordered dinner and the food was good, but we definitely lost the whole restaurant experience. They didn't take anything off the bill at all, they gave us a complimentary half glass of champagne. I don't drink and my boyfriend doesn't even like champagne. They should have at least credited his glass of wine. Just disappointing I made the reservation months ago and we didn't get to eat in the dining room. Would not go back!!
Always love Gracie's. We had a few wonderful servers but one just wasn't up to Gracie's standards. This is the best restaurant in RI!
We had a wonderful dinner this past Friday evening at Gracie's before attending a show at the Providence Performing Arts Center. It was our first time dining here and we look forward to going back. The staff was warm and welcoming, and very cognizant of our need to be on time for a 7:00 show. ( we had a 5:00 reservation) This is fine dining in a very comfortable atmosphere. For appetizers, we sampled the Scallops Crudo, Grilled Octopus, Gnocchi, and Squash and Apple salad. Entrees included Ribeye Steak, Scallops and Swordfish. Everything was just delicious and the amuse bouches , creative breads and complimentary macarons at dinner's end were fun additions to a great meal!! Highly Recommend!!
Very nice evening. Service and food were great with just a few small missteps. Sweet bread appy was good but the thick crunchy batter overwhelmed the delicate nature of the meat. Amuse bouches were great. The cornbread a and sour dough bread were great but the dinner roll was a definite miss.
Duck entree was perfectly rendered, cooked and seasoned. Rigatoni was perfectly cooked although the sauce was a bit uninspiring and the sausage was more bland than described.
The mouse dessert was a bit dense and had some disjointed flavors. The best part was the candied buddha's hand. Wine selection was good.
Overall a very nice evening & might consider trying it again.
Spectacular! Manny and Nadine were terrific servers; so pleasant and fun, they were an integral part of our special evening. All food and drink was over the top incredible, both in presentation and taste. I love the high end food and service in such a relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere; an amazing combination that Gracie's has down.
We greatly appreciated the attention to my reservation note about our dinner being a special occasion for my daughter. The glitter on the table upon arrival and the bubbles once we were seated were a perfect beginning.
The seven course Chef's Tasting with the paired wine selection was simply extraordinary. The flavors were subtle, yet rich in imagination. The presentation beautiful. The staff attentive and entertaining. A memorable evening.
One of our favorite restaurants in New England, Gracie's continues to deliver high quality service and cuisine with a thoughtful wine list; all, at reasonable pricing. The meals are elevated and artful without pretension. We have had a two year hiatus since our last visit and can happily report that the experience has gotten stronger. That is a rarity.
I thoroughly endorse Gracie's for those having a special occasion or a special evening out.
All around excellent; not cheap but you get what you pay for
This was our first visit to Gracie's in a couple of years. We enjoyed an amazing dinner experience before a show at PPAC. The initial welcome from the Valet, the lovely woman at the desk, and various service staff was wonderful, as was the food and drink. We will definitely be returning before too long.
Most awesome experience from moment we walked in the door to leaving .... food awesome and all services most awesome .. great staff
Gracie’s was fantastic. Service was stellar from everything to refilling water, bread and serving our meals. Our waitstaff was excellent in explaining what everything was. The food was delicious. Our party was there for restaurant week so the meal was very affordable. Menu does seem a bit pricey otherwise, but I would love to return for a special occasion sometime in the future!
Excellent on all counts: food, service, ambience! A wonderful place to eat!
Gracie's, as always, had excellent service and amazing food. The spoon-sized tastings in between courses were delightful as well! As the person driving, I am very grateful for Gracie's non-alcoholic beverage pairings. I love going here for special occasions.
Gracie's is a downtown Providence gem. Our "restaurant week" dinner was wonderful, with attentive and knowledgeable servers. The food is inventive and delicious, and is beautifully presented. The setting is urban but cozy. We'll be back!
An amazing restaurant with an amazing staff. The food was lovely and the overall experience was unmatched by any restaurant I've been to.
We had a great time! Food was delicious, service was top notch from host and hostess to coat check (Nicole) to our bartenders Manny and Sam and the people who brought us our food. We will be back again. Thanks, Erin and Mike
Gracie’s is amazing! Our server, Elizabeth was fantastic!
This first time visit to Gracie’s during restaurant week, and before a theater performance, was a perfect choice. Very attentive service, nicely prepared food and good wine advice, coupled with an accommodating response to a highway-accident induced late arrival that affected us and several other patrons, made for a lovely repast. We’ll certainly be back!
We went for Providence restaurant week and had the 3 course tasting. Everything was excellent! All fresh local ingredients. Service was superb, very attentive but not intrusive. This restaurant is great for a date or special occasions, atmosphere is quiet. The décor is tasteful.
Went for the Providence restaurant week meal before a performance at the VETS. Food was delicious!
It was an amazing fine dining experience! Everyone who took care of us was attentive and our head server, Sarah, was knowledgeable, engaging and terrific!
Amazing service the good food was a reflection of the family like ambiance
My boyfriend and I went to Gracie's during Restaurant Week for our anniversary, and the service and food were both incredible. We especially loved the gnocchi, duck, and creme brûlée. It was a fantastic experience for great value. Our servers were attentive and kind, and all of them seemed to know it was a special occasion for us.
Overall great restaurant. Prompt and knowledgeable service but a bit hard to track down mid meal when trying to get another drink and seemed to push the wine pairings pretty hard. Food was delicious, especially the gnocci. Great drink list too. Ambiance and vibes are perfect for a date.
It was the best meal I've had in Providence and the best service I've ever had at a restaurant. Nadeen and Alex (I think that was his name) were our servers and they were fantastic!!! The entire staff really made it a special experience. I already have a reservation to go back next month!
Simply exquisite. Took advantage of Providence Restaurant Week pricing on our anniversary. Innovative presentation. Scrumptious amuse-bouche between courses. Each dish was delectable (as in, you wanted to LICK the plate clean). Service was attentive and informative. Gracie's is simply a delight!
(If standard pricing is prohibitive, consider Restaurant Week!)
staff went above and beyond to make our anniversary dinner a special dining experience
Went to celebrate one-year with my roommates and the staff went above and beyond to make our night feel special. Service was what really made it a great experience and the staff were knowledgeable about everything. Food was delicious, especially the gnocchi and the duck.
The food and drinks were amazing-always impressed with the creativity and deliciousness!
Negatives-Found it cold by the window. Was struggling with the perfume/after shave of 2 of the servers as I have allergies (they might want to tone it down).
All in all lovely!
Gracie's is wonderful. Every dish that comes out is an art piece and in addition to your meal you get little "gifts from the kitchen" which could include a random taste explosion from the chef's imagination or some sorbet to cleanse the pallet. The staff is friendly and always attentive.
We had a great meal at Gracie's last week during Providence Restaurant Week. The 3-course meal was delicious. Appreciated the sorbet in between servings and the meringue cookies after the meal. We had 1 waiter and 1 waitress and both were great. Friendly and attentive. We had eaten here one time before, a few years ago, and had forgotten how lovely it was. We will surely be back.
We recently enjoyed a delicious PVD Restaurant Wk dinner. Our servers, Liz and Anthony, couldn't have been more knowledgeable about the menu and wine and delightful to have serve us. Thanks!!!
Gracies is a nice and quiet place and they do some lovely flourishes which makes it feel special. Order the duck. It's the best I've ever had.
Went here during Restaurant Week for our wedding anniversary. What a great deal for exceptional food and service. The staff made sure we were well taken care of and that our evening was just as special as the occasion we were celebrating. We may have to make this an anniversary tradition!
We came for the restaurant week tasting menu and it was delicious and a great value!
My boyfriend and I were celebrating an anniversary. We had a very rude, nearly hostile waiter/waitress who had no regard of how to treat a couple. Very disappointed and nearly ruined our experience. Will not recommend nor attend this facility further.
