The food was delicious. The service was friendly and attentive - if a trifle formal. But the overall atmosphere of the restaurant hits it just right. Its warm and inviting and the tables are pleasantly spaced so you can have a conversation. We will definitely go back.
Super accommodating to our reservation requests!
AMAZING experience. Looking forward to a return visit soon
Bravo! The service staff sets the stage, welcoming you in, and attending to every detail. The ambience is casual elegance, candles lit in the clearest cleanest glass lanterns, and some glitter confetti on the table with a personalized birthday card to truly welcome. The food was exquisite. The amuse-boucher just exotic enough to delight and intrigue and with nothing to offend the non - adventurous in the crowd. The menu is limited, precluding recurring visits, but Gracies has become my new number One restaurant in the area for a special occasion. And, back to the wait staff - Personable, Knowledgeable (food, wine pairings, suggestions), and so very Lovely - they make the visit so very perfect.
We made the reservation to celebrate our anniversary. From arrival we were treated with respect and got to feel special. Arriving at our table, they had personalized our table with a card and decorated it. We had two wonderful servers who were attentive, professional and made us feel like we were the only patrons in the restaurant. We had the chefs tasting menu and it was phenomenal. They customized one course of the meal to my partners desire for the dry aged steak and paired a special wine with it. Overall it was an experience that neither of us will forget
It was a nice experience. Friendly waiting staff and good food. It was a bit expensive but worth it.
My favorite restaurant in Providence! My daughter and I always choose Gracies before we attend theater at Trinity Repertory Theatre and are never disappointed!
This was our first time at Gracie's and the food and service was amazing! Evan was very attentive and explained the menu options for us and gave some great suggestions. We had a great night out for our anniversary they made it extra special for us.
Everything from start to finish was amazing! Will definitely be back next time we are in town!
We celebrated out anniversary at Gracie’s and had a fantastic experience. The service was outstanding—attentive, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and engaging. The tasting menu was superb. We had not been there in many years and were so glad we returned as they made our celebration a truly memorable experience.
Every year my husband and I go to Gracie's for our anniversary because it has always been our favorite restaurant. This year however, was very disappointing. Typically when we are sat, there is a nice anniversary card and some confetti. This time there was no acknowledgment at all. I'm not sure if this is a new policy as there seems to be some other changes that have been made including the lack of the 3 course prix fixe menu. However what really made the experience disappointing for us was the fact that our sever John was almost nonexistent. He took our drink and dinner order and never returned to check on our food or get us more drinks until it was time to order dessert. Thankfully Ryan was assisting him and was amazing. We have never had an issue with service here so I'm hoping it was a one time occurrence but I am not in a rush to return.
Food was terrific. Sweetbreads were exceptional.
Very pleasant at the barbefore Trinity show.
Great service,cocktails and food!
Special Evening! Enjoyed every aspect of the night. Service was wonderful and the food perfect. We had the wine pairings which made it even better.
We had a wonderful experience at Gracie’s for our Anniversary! The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. They even do a few little surprises for our anniversary, which meant a lot!
Anat and staff are absolutely wonderful! The food is spectacular! Every time we visit Providence, this restaurant is our first stop!
The food was creative, delicious with a classic presentation which made it more delicious than it was. Believe me I didn't think it was possible. Bravo!! Evan, our server was pleasent and professional. I will be back.
Anniversary was great thank you
Amazing gourmet and inventive food
Gracie’s is a classy restaurant in downtown Providence. The food is excellent ( I had the duck at our last visit), the service impeccable and the atmosphere great. Great place for dinner anytime but especially for a special occasion.
Just about a perfect mix of food and ambiance and the service is always terrific. One of the best places in Providence for dinner.
Top notch every time. Creative dishes expertly cooked.
This was my first experience at Gracie's and it did not disappoint!! High marks for the extraordinary service, the warm and eclectic ambience, and fantastic cuisine!!! Truly a wonderful dining experience!
Gracie's has it all !!! Kudos to owner Ellen Slattery and Chef Matthew Varga!!
Outstanding food and great service
Afraid it has gone down hill. Not like the old days. Food just ok. Service slow and loud. Small portions. Very expensive. Bring back the old Gracies!
A very fine meal. My main gripe was the service, where we rarely saw our actual waiter, and instead had a team of people who were helpful, but faces were inconsistent. We were concerned about making the start time of a concert and ordered the entire meal (including dessert) at once, which was handled well. For dessert, my wife ordered an Irish coffee to compliment her chocolate-hazelnut dish, and the coffee never came during dessert (although my espresso AND a glass of Port came out immediately). When asking for the bill, I simply informed the waiter that we would like the coffee to be removed since we did not receive it. Instead, he insisted on putting the alcoholic drink into a to-go cup. Clearly, he was not thinking about open container laws while driving, or frankly, anything but the bottom line. It would have been far better customer service to remove the charge and not serve the coffee, better yet, to encourage us to stay longer and enjoy it on the house (we couldn’t, but the gesture is what counts here). I tried hard to understand the waiter’s motivation, and the only thing I can come up with is inexperience, or disregard for the customer. Our meal itself was prepared to very high standards, and we otherwise enjoyed the evening (our first time at Gracie’s). For the money spent on a meal for 2, it will be a while before we go back both because of the expense and the service.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere! Love this place!!!
Food was amazing! We did the 7 course chefs choice and each dish was soooo yummy! :)
Lovely restaurant for a special occasion. Many special touches. Staff is excellent.
Above and beyond.
Delicious food interesting side dishes.
This is by far in our top three restaurants of a lifetime. The service is exceptional and the food is so creative, presented beautifully and each bite is scrumptious. Highly recommend for each and every time you choose to dine out!
We did the tasting menu and it was fabulous! Highly recommend it
Went with my wife for a special anniversary (which I noted when making the reservation). We got seated a little late, relative to our reservation time, but they comped us our drinks from the bar, so that was nice. There was a little card on the table with a Maya Angelou quote which was appropriate to the occasion -- my wife liked that :-)
Food and service were excellent; we both felt it was the best we had enjoyed in quite a while. I had the duck and my wife had the scallops; both were great. They gave us multiple amuse bouches along the way, which we enjoyed. The waiter was knowledgeable about the wine options.
Nice find in Providence. Sat at the bar and the service was great, loved the salad, my GF loved the foie gras. Scallops were excellent
It was my girlfriend's birthday and we had a wonderful dinner at Gracie's.
We ordered Chief tasting 7 courses, we loved all the dishes except the cheeses, we just didn't like it.
The service is perfect, waiters are gentlemen and are very patient, friendly, and respectful.
Would definitly go there another time.
This is the first birthday dinner I had with my girlfriend and I hope we could have another 80 birthday dinners together.
Another superb dining experience! Gracie's is consistently excellent. We had the grilled octopus, potato gnocchi, the duck and the halibut. All were delicious. Even the bread was outstanding. If there is a better restaurant in Providence we haven't found it.
Started out with bang.... Ended in a fizzle. Did chef tasting and just wasn't impressed. Maybe a off night maybe a sign of the times but we have been here before and this time it did not wow us. Disappointed to say the least
We have always enjoyed Gracies’s. As usual the food was very good. The service however was off. It was not especially busy but the wait times were excessive and our server(s) were often not available and seemed to be missing all night. We will go back, but not for a while and with trepidation.
Wonderful service and delicious food from start to finish! After I made a reservation the staff called me to tell me there is complimentary valet because it's raining out they thought we should know that . Very considerate and appreciated ! We shared the cheese platter, ricotta rigatoni, scallops and blueberry chocolate tart. We also enjoyed all the little small touches... A variety of breads, intermezzo between courses, mint macaroons at the end and chocolate chip cookies in my truck when we retrieved it from valet! Nice work!!!
Excellent quality of the food and paring
