Did a good job dealing with COVID service. Food was delicious as ever.
I was there on my own as I love vegan Mexican food and had been here before. I was seated but no one came to my table for over 10 minutes. When my server finally arrived he asked if I was alone, which I guess explained the delay in approaching my table. I then waited another 10 minutes or more to have my order taken, had to request chips but no plate or salsa/sauce was provided.
The food was nothing compared to what I remember from one year ago. The server up served me a jackfruit side without explaining it was an addition to my order. It was tasteless as were the accompanying greens. Very disappointed and won’t be back
Muy mala la atención. La host del restaurant tiene una una muy mala disposición y una cara de culo de 2 metros. No nos sentimos bienvenidos en ningún momento. No vayan!!! Peor local del sector.
Tons of homeless people outside not wearing masks or social distancing. There needs to be enforcements.
The food here is stellar. Located in the heart of the mission so the ambience is according. The patio seating, however made us feel very comfortable!
Great protocols from all staff. Food was excellent. Really good experience with my girlfriend who was visiting from out of town.
First time we came was absolutely amazing. Second time all 6 of our dishes were too spicy and everything tasted the same! Disappointed. Our server Eduardo was amazing though!
Under strict COVID restrictions this restaurant has done a great job at maintaining the food & service. Great option for Veggie lovers! (NO meat options at all just FYI)
Twas lovely, as usual :)
I had dinner with a friend who was visiting from San Jose. We both enjoyed the food it was really good. I had the mole enchiladas the mole was very authentic. My friend had the flautas de camote they were good as well. The restaurant is quite beautiful and the service was excellent. our waiter was very attentive and kept coming around to make sure we were satisfied
Great social distancing and Covid precautions. And the food was great too
Please be aware when they say outside that does not always include the nearest patio seating with the heaters.
The food was excellent -- I didn't realize that the food is all vegan until after we had finished brunch!
Food is good. A bit loud due to street noise (nothing they can control); but with masks and sirens be prepared to use your “stage” voice and elephant ears or it will be hard to hear you/others.
They’re understaffed so a bit slow getting orders in, drinks, and the check.
We enjoyed the margaritas, the flautas and the guacamole. Also we had some shots of mezcal. It was hot and sunny when we went, but the sun went down quickly. Great happy hour
Food was excellent and I felt safe in the patio area with how they dealt with sanitation.
Amazing as usual. We chose to sit by the street and it was a bit loud from the cars. They offered their covered patio, which would have been a better choice I think.
Delicious food. I'm not Vegan and it still hit the spot.
Amazed by the menu and it's something different, drinks were hit or miss but great tasting food
Food is over priced for the quality. This is our 3rd time going (2 times SF, 1 time LA, every time we had hoped it will be better but it is lacking in customer service, food quality, and food quantity
The experience was great, food is wonderful and waiters are really nice! Social distancing and face covering are mandatory, which is great, we felt safe.
Great that they are still open! Felt very safe in terms of server health precautions.
Had a fantastic lunch on their outdoor patio! Social distancing was in place with good usage of masks. Felt safe and loved my meal. So happy Gracias Madre is able to adjust to Covid guidelines and stay in business.
I love how it's completely Vegan restaurant and the dishes a true to our traditional latin dishes with flavor and authenticity. Service is always great.
Major kudos to GM and even the other patrons for following Covid rules and being super cautious. It was heavenly to have GM’s amazing food hot and fresh on a patio after so long, big thank you to everyone there ❤️❤️❤️
Love the vegan food at Gracias Madre. Open air area at front was great for pandemic dining. Staff were excellent. We drive from the burbs to eat here!
Not a fan of their flavor palette, service was very poor and we were surrounded by empty tables so I was a bit confused by that.
As always food was amazing, staff was amazing!!
What a hidden gem. My non-plant based partner was just as delighted with our meal as I was.
Overall experience was good but I was a little unpleasently surprised that the hostess did not even tell us that she is sorry and we will have to wait for some time, not even approximetly for how long and I had a table booked (we were on time). The patio where we were supposed to stay was completely booked and none of the tables looked like they are about to leave. After 15 - 20 mins of waiting, which I would not mind if she offered for example waiting on a bar, we got the table in and an amazing server who was really kind, professional, and passionate about what he does. We ordered 4 dishes and only one was kind of off but not Gracia’s Madre fault, just not a good pick. Wine was amazing, despite it was full it was not as loud. I would like to give people a heads up that you might end up sitting with someone since that is Gracias Madre’s policy and it is not always pleasant, especially when people who arrive at your table are not social skilled and well-mannered.
Overall good experience, but in the future I will probably go back to GM in L. A., not here.
Vegan Mexican restaurant with strong flavors, shared communal tables. Food is just ok.
Once again... AMAZING.
Great food! You'd never even suspect it's vegan...
You won't find Mexican Vegan food very many other places ... so if that's your thing, it's a great find. That said while the food was tasty, it was slightly overpriced (especially the margueritas) ... 1 drink, 1 entree, shared app = $50 / person.
Amazing food and great atmosphere! Food was reasonably priced, drinks were a little pricey, but we didn’t try them to know if they were worth it.
I used to go to Gracias Madre years ago and it was soooo good. This time I was disappointed. Not so good, a bit pricey. It either went downhill or I got pickier, but in either way, it was not impressive.
We brought my 9 year old nephew here and he loved it. He didn't miss the meat and was shocked at how good the cheesecake was without dairy.
We came here for Valentines Day. The restaurant itself is very nice and clean with nice decor however it’s in a not so nice area. It’s easy to find right on Mission. It’s communal seating which isn’t my favorite and the lady that sat next to us wouldn’t stop talking to us even though we were clearly on a Valentine’s date. The food was very good but the drinks were terrible. I thought it was a full bar but it’s only tequila and I’m not a tequila fan. Overall I really enjoyed it there and plan to go back.
Absolutely amazing experience here for lunch on Valentines Day !
This place is wonderful and always busy. Over the years they have only improved. The cocktails and juices are really special and house made tortillas are exceptional. Be aware they use communal seating. So if you're hoping for a semi-private conversation and are a party of two, take a spot at the bar, or if you're a large group, then you get a whole table to yourselves. But I don't like coming here with a mid sized party - I've often been irritated by the loud conversations of people directly next to me of self conscious of being overheard myself. The idea is to build community, but generally people want to feel close to who they came with and not make friends with strangers. It works for the restaurant - they can seat more people and turn tables more efficiently, but I have to think first about who I'm coming with, what we'll be discussing, and how many are in my party before I choose this place.
