She was known to make bread from scratch every Saturday for her legendary three-hour Sicilian Sunday lunches; and, her newly established family roots in Louisiana added interesting flavors to her home cooked meals. The entire Mandola family, including her five children and fourteen grandchildren, was regularly greeted in her home with smells of warm bread, well brewed sauces and homemade soups. It was around her table that her family learned the true meaning and value of relationships, friendships and good food. These memories are realized when one walks into Johnny Carrabba’s new restaurant, Grace's.
It was an amazing experience even considering the state of things right now. The food, level of service and ambiance was absolutely extraordinary.
The food is always good here and service is very friendly. It gets a little noisy when the restaurant is full but I like the decor and general ambiance. The roast pork is amazingly delicious and tender. The beef stroganoff is rich and flavorful and the fried pork chop does not disappoint. Sweet, but very tart and almost frozen describes the perfect lemon icebox pie. The convenient valet parking is icing on the cake.
This is one of the best in houston for service and food quality.
My sister, who is not easily impressed, came "into town" from the suburbs for lunch and was immediately impressed by the reception we received walking in the door. The service, the professionalism, the FOOD were all top notch. I frequent Grace's on a regular basis with my niece so it was no surprise to me but, to be able to impress my sister, is a feat. She wants to come back for a weekend brunch. Kudos. :-)
Food is amazing!! Customer service is excellent, overall great atmosphere!!
Great food and service
Had friends visiting from Philadelphia, New Jersey and Atlanta and they loved it!
Service was great food was awesome I’ll will be going back again
I loved everything about this place, I will most definitely be returning!!
The wait was not long. The food was delicious. The service was awesome. We were not rushed away. Great place to eat and fellowship. Thank you.
Our waiter Aian was very attentive and suggestive. The recommendations he made were on point and to our liking.
Grace’s is one of my favorite places! service and food are consistently fantastic!!!
Great variety of food, cajun as well as traditional home cooking to nice steaks. I really enjoyed the history which is the charm of the restaurant. Stepping back in time a little. I love original restaurants and this is one. Pretty busy so service was a little slow but no big deal. I had cajun chicken two others had the roast dish and one had fried chicken all were very good. Prices were great also
The menu is extensive, so everyone could get exactly what they wanted. I appreciate that they also have kids menus. The dining area is quiet, so you can enjoy a private conversation with your party. Our waitress was amazing! We will definitely be back!
Our only complaint was less-than-attentive service. Empty beverage glasses for extended periods, almost no check-ins. But overall ok.
Several of our friends really enjoy Grace's. They rave about it all of the time. So, we had to go find out for ourselves. And, IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Great place, awesome comfort food. We'll be back soon!
Great food, great atmosphere and great service!!!
When visiting Houston one of my favorite places to have lunch is Grace’s. I always order the Caesar salad, shrimp burger and a lemon drop martini. The Caesar salad is one the best I’ve had. The fresh croutons and dressing are amazing. I also love that the fact that whole not ground shrimp are used for the burger. The pretzel bun is the perfect combination and compliment for the burger. Sometimes, it is hard to find a restaurant that makes a consistent drink that is not the case with Grace’s. The lemon drop martini is always consistent during each and every visit.
I had my two sons straight after baseball practice and they were both hangry. I’ve never been to Grace’s, and as soon as I walked in I immediately regretted going there with 2 starving boys after they had been playing ball for a few hours. The staff and our waiter couldn’t have been more kind and welcoming in accommodating us. We had a wonderful family meal, both boys loved everything they ordered with clean plates all around. We will definitely go back here and we will spiffy up a bit next time, lol!
Front staff is rude. Had a reservation, still had to wait 30 minutes for a table, with reservations, we were asked to eat at the bar.
Our waiter was excellent in explaining the steps the restaurant had taken to address the water main break. Which eased any apprehension we had about eating out.
Grace's has a large variety of meals to choose from and the selection that I picked was delicious. The service was exceptional and our server was so attentive. We were celebrating a special occasion and couldn't have asked for a better place. I look forward to returning there in the future.
I had requested the back room as we were having a meeting. It worked perfectly.
So appreciate the response to my request.
Had dinner with friends to catch up and the noise level is low so it was easy to do. Service and food were all fantastic.
We had an amazing and awesome time. I celebrated my birthday with five of my college friends, and we truly had a great time. Our waiter Lowell was attentive, informative, and fun. Two other waiters pitched in to help, and we also hit it off with them. The food was delicious, including the pork chops, fried chicken, and fresh fish. The desserts - red velvet cake, lemon icebox, and ice cream sundae - were impeccable!
Always very good. Food as well as service. Always has a crowd on Sunday's but, if you have a reservation you can get seated quickly.
Love this place.
Filet was total disappointment for the price. It was a half-inch thick piece of shoe leather.
It’s was great as usual .!!!
Excellent service from Lowell. Salad and rolls were outstanding. Everyone at the table was happy and satisfied with what they ordered.
For it being my first time my girlfriend and I had an awesome experience! Our waiter was very attentive & wonderful personality thx Jace! We'll most definitely be coming back
We had a great experience at Grace's. The menu was also great and made it hard to choose from :)
Good friend, service and ambiance! My husband and I are definitely going back.
Awesome first experience at Grace’s! Food, wine and ambience was great. Will definitely be coming back soon
Good food great service.
One of the best restaurants in town for any dining occasion!
Women’s birthday party
Awesome food great service. Three words: MAC n Cheese.
Was disappointed with the bbq shrimp and the Mac and cheese. I enjoyed the Brussel sprouts. My vegetarian friend ordered a veggie plate and enjoyed it. The service was mediocre. My meal was made incorrectly, but fixed quickly.
We ordered a side and another waiter thought it was for another table so he came to take it from our table without saying a word. The waiter put it in after we originally ordered so there may have been a mix up with the order. What was baffling was that another waiter came to take it after it was already eaten from. We had to ask for another side. Just in poor taste. Not sure if I would go back.
It was my daughter’s baby shower. Everything was fabulous!! Everyone had an awesome time!!!
Very good Service and Food!!
Always excellent. Consistent service.
