Grace's Mandarin Ratings and Reviews
This was my third visit here.... love the food. Unfortunately my waiter did not give me my take home portion after 3 requests. By the time we left, I had forgotten also. Discussed with management after I got home 1 1/2 hour drive. Not sure he understood or cared about my dilemma.
Super busy on a Saturday night but thanks to open table we got a last minute reservation. There was quite a crowd but we only waited a short while near the beautiful bar, where it was warm and inviting. The service was wonderful, the food was tasty and the tables were always full of people having a great time
Excellent food. One of the best chinese restaurants in the DMV. The ambiance is great and the service was excellent. Menu recommendations includes phenomenal crispy beef and asian style lamb chops. Both were cooked to perfection. The calamari is also top notch.
Oh my do we miss Mr. K's, Washington's top Chinese restaurant of its time. But Grace's Mandarin comes awfully close. The restaurant is beautifully appointed and the food is outstanding. We had a variety of typical Chinese/American dishes--an excellent lettuce wrap , vegy spring rolls, wonderful crispy beef, togarashi with brown sauce and a melt in your mouth angus filet. Great waiter who checked on us just the right amount of times and kept our ice tea glasses without the need to ask. We have been here a few times before and this experience reminded us why we need to come more often.
Everyone enjoyed their meals for my daughter's birthday. We had Indonesian fried rice, Malaysian chicken curry, eggplant, pad thai, house fried rice, chicken wings, sushi, fried dumplings and everything was delicious! Some of the portions were on the small side for the price but the serving containers were original and creative, which added a festive flair to the meal. The server was very pleasant and attentive in refilling our water and checking in with us.
I come here for my sushi fix and the Kung Pao Chicken. I do love the decor, the nice touch with the hot towels before/after dinner and the ambiance. The service isn’t impeccable, but always good. We were there to meet family; it probably wasn’t the best option, given the noise level, but it was better than the noise level at Redstone or Granite City. The food was a little salty this time, but overall a good experience, as usual. I will return.
Truly magnificent ambiance in this wonderful three floor restaurant with top notch mostly Chinese restaurant. Food was high quality, plated well and cooked perfectly. Expensive, but that is reflective of the neighborhood as well as the presentation. I would go back there again.
Absolutely beautiful place. Wonderful staff. Delicious food. I will say that the food, while good, I'm not sure if it was worth the larger price tag. $28 for organic teriyaki chicken, it was good but I've had cheaper that tasted I would dare say better. $4 for a fountain drink is high as well. It's hard to find such amazing staff and ambience though. So clean and you can tell they care.
Food and service was amazing. It was my first time at the restaurant and I relied on the waitress recommendation. Salt and pepper wings as an appetizer and lychee drink started the meal. I order the mandarin shrimp with a side of shrimp soba noodles and he flavors were amazing. Ended the meal with a cup of green tea and the mugs you drank out of was great. Service was also fast. I highly recommend.
This place way over promised and grossly underdelivered. For what they charged, I expected gourmet cuisine but what I got was something from Panda Express. The view is great, as is the decor, but that is about it. I would rather visit the location near Lanham.
