Grace - Fort Worth Ratings and Reviews
Waiter spilled drink on my step son. They offered a free desert and to take our drinks off. However they brought me the bill and did not take anything off. After waiting 30 minutes for the waiter I just paid the bill because we were already there over 3 hours and was ready to go. As we were leaving they said I have y'alls new Bill and I said I already paid it after waiting 30 minutes with no one keeping us informed. I guess because maybe they thought we didn't belong there because we didn't look like we had money or something. I will never go back there
Service was great. The wine Sommelier was knew his wines. Food was not up to par. Ordered the prawns for an appetizer. At best medium size shrimp drenched in way to much butter. Very soggy even with the bread crumbs. Scallops to buttery also. The filet was served cold. The mushrooms and red onion topping was dried out. To me cooked hours before. Kitchen needs to step it up. If not for good service I would give them 2 stars.
Everything was wonderful, just wish it didn’t take so long to get our food. We had an 8pm reservation, ordered all our courses by 820, didn’t receive a roll with butter til 20 min later, then another 30 min before our salads, then another 40 min before our main course. Just seemed like it took an abnormally long time to get the good. The food was outstanding though!!
We visited Grace for the second time recently. The first time, over the summer, we did the chef's tasting menu with wine pairings which was amazing. Our recent visit came 2 weeks after I received a surprise diagnosis of Celiac Disease and have been trying to figure out how to continue going out to eat, which we love to do. Our waiter, Jason, was amazing. He guided me through all the menu options, assured me that he would take care of everything, pointing out how the chef would customize each menu item to fit my new dietary restrictions. He even came out after our food was served to ensure the changes were made correctly. Not only did our second visit to Grace match our expectations from the first, but this amazing service just solidified that we will be back many times in the future. If you have any dietary concerns, especially any concerning gluten, Jason is fantastic!
The food was great. It was mostly seafood and steak options. Since my wife doesn't like seafood, It was hard to find something else beside a filet. The appetizer was good, but very small portion for the price. The also wasn't a lot of variety for appetizers if you didn't want seafood or raw meat.
Overall the food was good, I just wasn't amazed especially for the price point. If you like seafood, toys is a good choice.
Came recommended by a friend, we found they had "bubble hour" which is 4-6 with half priced Champagne, so I knew my wife would be in. We started at the bar with a friendly tender....and a few cocktails. Meal was carnivore style. I had the spicy prawns....followed by the strip steak. My wife had the filet. Both were cooked perfectly with a side of butter nut squash (our only veggie). The waiter was from our area and could not have been nicer. Would recommend
This is a fine dining restaurant but it fell slightly short on the service. We had to request a refill on our champagne, rather than the waiter asking if we would like more to drink. And that is after the waiter had been by our table several times. He obviously wasn’t taking note of our needs. Then the rack of lamb that was ordered at medium by one of us came out well done. It had to be redone and when served finally, it was raw.
Food was as excellent as one would expect for an expensive meal. Steaks were cooked to perfection as one expects in Ft Worth.A la cart sides were creative and not your average. Service gets dinged a tad due to having to ask twice for bread. It was delivered to the table next to us that was seated notacably after us. Waiter was not nowlegable about wine list and we had to ask for a somilier. He arrived instantaneously. We were two couples dining prior to the rodeo about which we informed staff in advance. They acknowledged this when we got there and assured us they would get us out on time. They almost did. Big ding on the valet parking. We waited about 10 minutes for our car, in the cold airlock. Valet staff was terse. The restaurant was not crowded. We were approached by a pan handler as we entered our car. All in all a good, if not outstanding experience. $350 tab including tip for two (one cocktail and 1 bottle of wine shared 3 ways).
A girlfriend and I were visiting Fort Worth from Houston on January 12th and we liked Grace's menu. We had a late reservation and decided to sit at the bar. Our bartender Sky was very nice and made some great conversation (despite the occasional F bomb dropped when speaking with her coworkers). The male bartender working alongside her however was very unpleasant. He asked us at the beginning if we were ok and never said or did anything after that. We had been looking at the wine menu to order our next glass of wine, Sky was in the kitchen checking on our food, and we looked up and were waiting for him to approach us and he never did. He continued to clean the floor of the bar, toss things into the sink directly in front of us while we were eating, and then thought it was a good idea to drop off our check while we still had a half glass of wine and said "we can split this however you want" and walked away. I've worked in restaurants before and can understand the nuisance of late reservations but I also understand the importance of making those guests feel as welcome as the guests who come in first when the restaurant opens for the night. Will I be back? Probably not because I live in Houston. Will I recommend Grace? Eh.
The Prime strip was delicious and cooked perfectly; the scallops were good but not as good as they have been in the past. Loved the Hawaiian Prawn appetizer. For the sides, the brussels sprouts tasted very good but the mac n cheese/potatoes left something to be desired. Maybe skip those! Great meal and service overall.
This is our second time to dine at Grace. We went for New Year's Eve, and even with the special menu, the selection was great. The food was delicious, and the service was wonderful. They always make you feel welcome, and we will be dining at Grace again. It's a perfect place for a romantic evening, special occasion, or date night.
