grace 17.20 Ratings and Reviews
I would not recommend this restaurant because the food was terrible! The rolls were good and the side order of grits was good but my entire group ordered chicken salad and it was inedible. It was a a birthday celebration so it was ruined. We were not charged for the food but the point was to have a nice lunch.
The restaurant was lovely. Too bad the food was not good!
My dinner (lamb chops) was beautifully plated and just delicious. They were perfectly cooked. We live nearby and often forget about Grace as there are so many restaurants in the area. Grace will certainly be one of our "go to frequently" restaurants going forward.
We went there for dinner on New Year’s Eve. Of course they were busy but they were appropriately staffed and service was attentive. We both ordered off the regular menu. I had the filet which was cooked perfectly. As a side I got the asparagus risotto which was also cooked perfectly. I also had the beet salad which was beets, orange slices and hazelnuts with a light citrus dressing. My wife ordered the diver scallops which came with mashed potatoes with goat cheese. She was very happy with her meal as well. We had wines by the glass as I wanted red and she white. I liked the 6 and 9 ounce pour options.
Food pricey just about all entrees above $31+. Had the short ribs but they were so fatty that full pieces could not be eaten. Felt that I was picking through the fat for meat.
Other guests had the filet and although they ordered it medium well, there was too much red. Salmon and chicken risotto seemed over priced. Overall disappointing
Went to dinner around Christmas. The food was very good. And the service/ waiter was attentive and quick with taking our order, bringing our food and drinks. He also suggested we taste the wine we were debating about getting. I feel he went above and beyond. I would highly recommend this place. And the location is great.
Very nice ambiance. Ordered drinks that took about 12-15 minutes, and then received food about 8 minutes after placing our order. Timing was pretty poor as we sat there for a while waiting to order but the food portion seemed rushed. Quality of the steak wasn't worth $36, and Blue Cheese mac and cheese came out lukewarm. Wasn't very impressed.
We have been coming to Grace since they opened their doors, and we find that they have been consistent with their food and service, so that’s why we keep coming back. Our server, Natalia was wonderful. Very sweet, attentive, and she made great recommendations. Thank you !
We had been rushing around all day and it was a great joy to have a fabulous meal at Grace. The sun had just gone down and the ambiance at Grace is spectacular. The menu variety never disappoints and service is always delivered with a smile, good knowledge of the food prep and wines along with timely but not overbearing visits to check on you. Grace is a find!
Fine dining, reasonably priced.
Outdoor area attractive but cold. Inside lighting a bit bright...
Good Service (thanks Dan).
Spicy chicken spring rolls are fantastic.
Biggest complaint: wine is seriously overpriced. Beer and cocktails standard.
Our entrees all delicious: Duck, Chicken, Scallops, Shrimp--all devoured happily.
We celebrated my mother’s 88th birthday with delicious food and drink. Amanda, our server, was attentive yet not obtrusive. We were not rushed, and each course came within a timely manner. We did have to wait for coffee to brew, but we didn’t mind. From salads to entrees to dessert-everything was fresh and tasty!
Grace never disappoints. Service is impeccable. Gregory made our late lunch for 2 on the patio absolutely brilliant and enjoyable. He has served us several times and is very knowledgeable about the menu and wines. A five-star outdoor meal on a perfect autumn day.
Our sever Jamie was the only saving "Grace" for this dinner. It was my husband's birthday so we decided to try. The pulled pork flatbread was amazing. They had a fish special called Corvina and the presentation was beautiful. My husband said the first piece he ate was good the second piece was dry. I choose the braised short ribs dish. I asked Jamie and she said it was new on the menu and could not really say. I am not sure if it was the meat or the cooking. It was chewy and dry. It came with puree parsnips and kale which was yummy. I sent it back. Now comes the reason I have so little stars. The manager came over and I explained it was dry. He asked if I wanted anything more. I said, no because my husband was done eating and it was late. He continued his conversation and started to negotiate that I be charged for half the plate since I ate most of it... Really? I pulled the whole rib apart worth my fork to see if maybe it was just the 2 bites I had were dry. Never the less you are going to argue with a customer about taking 1/2 of the meal? I thought maybe I was at a Dennys instead of a place on open table. When we arrived my husband noticed it was ladies night and you get 1/2 off of appetizers. I told the waitress it was my husband birthday and she said they give complimentary dessert. Wow so unexpected. When the bill arrived the manager did take the meal off after the 5 minutes of accusing me off eating half. But the appetizers was full price. So I said something and she came back and said you can't have both. Meaning you can't have a birthday dessert and the offering of ladies night 1/2 off appetizers. Boy oh boy. As a foodie I must admit this was a crazy embarrassing birthday dinner with my husband. Never the less the outdoor patio was lovely and Jamie the waitress was very kind.
I enjoy meals at Grace 17.20. My only real problem is that the evening lighting is hard on my eyes...too dark or too yellow or something. I was in a booth facing the mirrored wall and don't know if looking out into the restaurant might have been better for me.
Last night was my first time back to Grace 1720 in a year and the decline in atmosphere, service and food was marked. We were seated and waited 15 minutes for our server to take our drink order and then when he did, I made the mistake of asking if I could get a cocktail with frothed egg white in it and then waited 15 more minutes for the answer (which was no). 40 minutes after we were seated we got our cocktails. We asked our server - when we saw him - about the delay and he told us that the kitchen was down one cook and it was very busy, but half of the table were empty so that made no sense.
We ordered a cheese plate, waited 20 minutes for a selection of cheese that looked like they had run across the street to Kroger to get and then no explanation of what was on the board. The manager delivered that to us and apologized for the delay and then made the rounds to several tables of not very happy patrons. We barely got started on that and our entrees came, along with a salad that was ordered to come ahead of dinner. “Oh, did you want your salad before your entree?”
Food was meh at best. My grouper was way overdone, my husband’s chicken was dry and tough, but my mother, who we had taken out to celebrate her 85th birthday, was happy with her scallops.
Our $15 cheese plate was comped and the bill was $200 before gratuity which was way too much for the food and experience. Grace 1720, it was nice knowing you.
Overall, an average experience. Very good staff, attentive and knowledgeable. Presentations of mains was very good, but that is about all there is to say to distinguish grace 17.20.
The pork chop was moist and properly cooked, but lacked the flavor you expect from a well-seasoned chop. It was simply bland. The same for the Saturday special Saratoga steak. Prepared medium as asked, just lacked proper seasoning. The mushroom sauce was too thin and watery, and too little in quantity for the large portion of mashed potatoes, which likewise were really bland.
Salmon was a restaurant standard portion controlled piece of farmed salmon with some seasoning. Again, solid prep. Pronounced lack of flavor.
The only thing that stood out with bold flavor was the shrimp and grits, even if the grits were a bit heavy on the cream, yielding a "fatty" mouth feel. The shrimp were done well.
Salted caramel cheesecake and creme brûlée were above average.
Need to make decaf espresso available. Need lessons in espresso-making. What was served was a demitasse of what looked like, was the viscosity of, and tasted like strong regular coffee. No foam/crema around the edge of the demitasse.
A "meh" ending to a"meh" meal among six friends.
The food here is always very good. However, I had a hanger steak that was over cooked, which was OK. There was a seasoning on the steak that I wasn't familiar with, it was bitter, I didn't like the taste. The rest of our table didn't mind it at all.
