Service was excellent as were the appetizers. We had the Gourmet Italia salad and the Bruschetta which was a big portion. The tomatoes tasted home grown and vine ripened. The olive tapenade was house made and delicious. The entrees were good (Veal Marsala and Manicotti) but by no means outstanding. Raymond and Francisco were excellent. It would have been nice to see the owner take a drink order or clear a plate rather than loudly hail for someone else to do it. In hindsight, we would have sat in the piano area, had drinks and shared the Charcuterie tray and some appies.
Loved the ambiance, service and food. The lemon dessert was phenomenal. Our only issue was the chicken in the fusilli. Tough cubes are not up to the standard of this restaurant.
Fab food...must try if in town
We make it a point to eat here at least every 2 months. Make a reservation to guarantee a table. You won't be disappointed.
I took my friend there for the first time because the restaurant is super nice and the food is good... I was slightly disappointed because I arrived on time to my reservation about 5minutes ahead but had to wait to be seated for 10 minutes. The server was nice but he was too slow in getting the beverages and appetizers out to us and the food took forever to come out. It was disappointing because all I ordered was a minestrone soup and salad and all she had was a manicotti. I would say we arrived at 0725 and we had our main course at about 830pm. Unacceptable! They need more servers or cooks.. That or do not turn over tables so fast that cannot be served immediately.
Great food and service. They arranged a birthday cannoli on short notice as well. Great job GI!
Went to Gourmet Italia the day after Valentine’s Day. Food was great, as always, but waiting 30 minutes when we booked a reservation was not great. And a couple who walked in without a reservation got seated before us, and in the main dining room (as opposed to the hallway where they stuck us), so not sure the utility of planning ahead and reserving. The food is great, and there aren’t a lot of other options in Temecula, but this experience makes me want to explore a bit more.
Went for Valentine's day with my fiancé and we both loved the ambiance and romantic feel of the restaurant and wine lounge. That night was a special Valentine's day four course meal that was simply delicious. Local food and wine included. Live piano music. Very good place.
Valentine’s Day, so unfair to judge. Shoved in an aisle way between two big groups, unpleasant. But the food was fantastic!
Outstanding , authentic Italian. Both lobster ravioli and lasagna were delicious and the Cesar salad was too. Raymond was our waiter and he was amazing!
I wish I could give this restaurant a better review but the service and management is so poor and I think they get away with it since they are the only game in town. Our drinks arrived 30 minutes after ordering, they first said they had the Branzino fish and then came back and said they didn't, their lasagne seemed like it had seen the inside of a microwave but our special pasta of the day was delicious. The server was scattered and the manager oblivious to our repeated requests for service and food. Hence we left without ordering any dessert or coffee because we wanted to be out of there :-(
Cheecake is joke 🤬 I ordered dessert to go and was very very disappointing when I opened the cheesecake! it was about 2 bites each sclice,no kidding about 2 ounces each sclice which I paid $22 plus left $8 tip for for 2 slices of cheesecake! Crazy not worth it!
We were told this was a place locals love and we can see why. The food was absolutely delicious and our waitress was engaging and attentive.
Absolutely delicious. Our go to restaurant when in the area.
Unfortunately a poor experience. Very poor management of flow. Arrived one hour earlier for reservations for 4 and still not seated about one hour after reservation when we left. Manager said told us we needed to arrive 2 hours earlier for reservations!! Not sure why we make reservations. Overbooked and accommodated all the walking in about 30 minutes. Any way definitely did not live up to any hype and he the ole runaround on seating. Appears kitchen cannot keep up with all expanded seating added to restaurant. Have tables set up in waiting area at front entrance and reception area where I become very crowded and unbelievably noisy.
We were seated an hour and a half after our reservation. Service was good, but food was not great. Overpriced for what was essentially fancy Olive Garden. Would not recommend or return. Only two people out of our party of six finished their meal. We ordered three ossobuco and three pasta dishes, one with chicken and two vegetarian. Only the vegetarians like their meals. The bread came out cold. Over all, a fail.
My sister and brother-in-law invited my husband and I out to dinner to celebrate our anniversary. I searched yelp for local restaurants. Gourmet Italia had lots of great reviews, so I made reservations on OpenTable. It was pretty busy for a Sunday evening but the owner quickly checked us in. They have two different dining areas. We were seated in the old classic Italian style dining area. They recently added a modern dining/lounge area. Our waiter was quick with our drink order and as well as our food order. My husband and I both order the specials. We enjoyed our conversations while waiting well over 40 minutes for our food. I don’t mind waiting when I know I’m going to get a delicious meal. However, we were all pretty disappointed with our dinner that evening. The pasta was sticky and did not taste fresh. We all thought that the food was pretty bland. My sister’s primavera looked like it was tossed with frozen vegetables. The seafood dish I ordered had two jumbo over cooked shrimp and a few clams and mussels. After the waiter dropped off our dinner, he disappeared for quite some time. I’m not sure if we’ll ever go back to Gourmet Italia for dinner. However, it’s got good ambiance. We may go back to try their cocktails in their new lounge area.
When I come to Temecula I try to make this a must. The quality of the food, the variety, and the overall experience is always great. We try to share the experience by bringing friends.
Gourmet Italia always delivers a delicious hot enjoyable meal. The mushroom risotto is delish.
I don’t know why I haven’t left a review before but to a certain degree I’m not sure they even need one more positive review. They’re busy and they deserve it! We love the service, the food and ambiance. They have one of my favorite Caesar salads and their carbonara is incredible! It’s become a tradition when family comes to visit to come here and we make sure to go early since they are very busy for dinner.
