Food of highest quality and presentation.
Service was inattentive, forgetful and distracted. This restaurant was always one of my favorites and it was a big disappointment at best.
Great! Delicious food and fantastically atmosphere!
This was our latest of maybe half a dozen visits to GB&G and we have yet to be disappointed. The restaurant is very attractive and conducive to conversation. Service is first rate. We started with the goat cheese tortellini special (excellent) seafood salad (outstanding) and baby kale salad (good but not special). For mains we had the rack of lamb (superb) Niman ranch pork (perfect) and halibut (very good). The wine list is overpriced and unexceptional but we found a recent vintage burgundy that suited us for a high, but not wholly unreasonable, price. With tax and tip it was $170/pp, which is on the high end even for food of this quality but not robbery. We expect to return often but this is not everyday dining.
Always excellent every time I am here. The fois gras is the best in the city!
Near perfection, as always. This is one of the few restaurants that seems too get better and better. It’s expensive, but reasonable compared to some of the other high end NYC restaurants.
Everything about Gotham Grill is exceptional -- the cuisine, the ambiance, the service, and the bill.
As always Gothem is one of my all time favorites
I just celebrated my birthday and it was
Food and wine was terrific
An amazing classic. Still fantastic after all these years.
Restaurant was empty and they tried to sit us next to kitchen door at small table. Food was average at best. Overpriced. Would not recommend it. Will not return
Outstanding food - foie gras and pork belly we had as shared appetizers - they were superlative.
Dessert is creative and appropriately portioned. The pear souffle was beyond delicate - it was extraordinary. Wheelchair access is by no means optimal, but the side entry makes the main floor of the restaurant accessible for wheelchair users and my dining companion had no complaints. I note, however, that there is no accessible restroom (one must go down the stairs). The restroom, if one is able to get to it, is in dire need of renovation (and better standards of cleaning).
All of that said, this is the fourth time I have eaten there and it did not disappoint, I will go back for certain.
Food and Service was outstanding
one of the best restaurants in nyc for 30 years
a safe bet
Always great - One of New York’s best for more than 30 years
From the greeting to the exit an excellent experience.
thoroughly enjoyed . Food and service were exceptional.
Fantastic experience as always, you can always count on them to deliver.
The service was excellent and the food (strip steaks0 were cooked to order). Noise level was modest and I would recommend that this is as ideal for personal dining as well as business. I appreciate my wine being poured and not measured ( to me, that's a big deal).
Excellent food, lively atmosphere. Will definitely visit more often.
Food and drinks were spectacular
I have going to this restaurant for over 20 years and it never fails to deliver on great food!
Been enjoying Gotham since it opened 35 years ago. Just as fine as ever.
The tartare was great. Steak was reallllllllly chewy. Worst steak ever. HAlibut was okay. Risotto was amazing.
Wonderful venue and great attentive service. The appetizers were great, tho the pork chop did not sit well and seemed a bit too pink in the middle. Should have trusted my gut.
Service was lacking. Steak was burnt
Gotham is great and has been forever. But, it would be nice if they offered a special every now and then. Yes they have their “Market” menu but maybe a nightly special would just make it even more spectacular.
Service experience was the worst I’ve ever experience. First thing waiter said to my girlfriend and I was “ are you ready to order?” I then asked, “can you tell me about the food/specials?” Get response was “specials are in the front page”. Being from Chicago, I used to a personal positive experience, and this was the complete opposite. She was begging for us to never come back. I suggest management to train the service people. Food is only half of the experience.
Great to be in Gotham. Really a 5 star experience which gets downgraded because of the value for the money just being a couple dollars short and the unfortunate fact that we weren't able to order some things from the bar menu to serve as appetizers (who doesn't want some deviled eggs to start the night right).
If you're looking for a splurge date then this is your place and it does deliver the deliciousness. A+ on the risotto, steak and all the sea-based appetizers that we had along with impeccable professional service all night long.
Enjoy your nights in Gotham... wish we could make it a regular versus a splurge!
Food and service was top notch. Highly recommend the duck
First rate NY restaurant experience. The wines by the glass were all amazing. The food, while not particularly adventurous, was rock solid. To start, we got the seafood salad and tuna tartare—both were fresh and in citrus dressings that heightened their flavor. For entrees, we got the miso cod and the dry aged steak, and both were phenomenal. We paired them with a red wine, and excellent craft beer, which went extremely well. Each dish was adorned with amazing complimentary vegetables. The peanut butter Sunday was perfect, and yet so rich we could not finish.
Our waiter was great and so was the food
It was amazing and that’s the only thing i can say about this place
Food was amazing, one of my favorite meals in NY
Food was great as always. Services was not, just expected tip a shame because the busers seemed to be way more attentive they should get the tip I left
Our go to for special occasions. Consistent, reliable, absolutely delicious every time we dine here.
This was a major disappointment after several wonderful experiences at Gotham in the past. The signature Seafood Salad —- formerly a soaring delight —- was a shrunken shadow of its old self. Branzino entree was just average, as was Chocolate Cake desert. In no way were the current prices justified. Given the quality, prices for appetizers and entrees were at least $10 too high. Service was just “okay.” Sad to say, we won’t be coming back.
Horrible service, horrible food. Overpriced for bad food, and rude service.
