Everyone’s food was good. I ordered nigiri and in my personal option, there was too much wasabi on each piece overpowering g the fish. All other food in the group was great.
The food was decent but nothing too special.
Crazy crazy awesome . My gal ravished me by end of evening..my one and only romantic place from now on...
We waited almost 30 minutes before we were even able to put in an order. We finally ordered 3 sushi rolls and they took over an hour to arrive.
Service was excellent, and the food was delicious with an appropriate price range! I will be back
Overall the food was good, but nothing exceptional. Best thing we had was the Korean short ribs. I wouldn't order the spicy lobster roll again, it was big and fell apart when I picked it up.
Get the Jjigae! It's delicious. Overall the food is good comfort Asian food. We didn't try any sushi, only stuck with the Korean portion of the menu.
After we sat, the server didn’t come back for about 15-20 minutes. The food was OK but our order was incorrect (we didn’t send it back because of time).
Not clean. To be avoided. Hair found in one entree ( and entree was charged).
Be bim bop was tasteless. Sushi did not smell fresh. Service was slow- very slow. This was a very disappointing restaurant.
Lots of great options. I always come here for sushi. Their spicy lobster roll is huge, tons of meat and worth the price.
Nice people and great service
Not impressed. The rolls were mediocre and the service EXTREMELY unprofessional. My mom asked to replace the spicy tuna roll in one of their combos with a regular tuna roll or salmon because she can't do spicy. They brought out imitation crab with shrimp. When we pointed this out, the waitress literally said, "That's okay" and followed up with a snippet about how this roll we didn't want at all was the same price as the one we tried to replace. You'd be much better off eating at Hachi next door.
My brother and I got the Korean dumpling platter, the Godzilla sushi roll, and the veggie bibimbop. Everything was fresh and delicious. Did we stuff our faces? Yes, but I did not feel gross. Nothing we had was heavy or greasy. It is BYO, which makes it super affordable and the ambience is quiet and relaxed. I will definitely be going back.
Great service and food ! Also loved that it's a family business.
The server was very nice, but overall the service was very slow (it took about 25 minutes just to get wine glasses...) which was a little frustrating.
We focused on the Korean side of the menu, and generally the food was generally good. That said, my sashimi salmon was still frozen which was disappointing.
The bigger issue was the service. We waited long stretches of time without service and from the time we ordered to the time the food arrived it had been at least twenty minutes. The bigger problem was that at a table of two and with only two dishes, our meal came out in three pieces. First the main portion of my fiancé's dish. Them the second half. Then still later my dish (still frozen).
I was able to speak with one of the servers afterward and explain the situation. He was very apologetic and I had watched him hustle around all night working hard.
Tried the katsu and the kimchi, they were pretty close to the real deal. Nice and accommodating staff, only complain is that some had limited English skills. It is quiet and simple, nothing fancy.
We had a 630 reservation, but anticipating some weight time since it was NYE we arrived 15 mins early to a mostly empty (>30% capacity) restaurant. After we ordered drinks (water) and appetizers (monkey brains) the server and the manager both came over to ask if we were ready to order entrees. Both came not 10 mins after we ordered our water and appetizers, which had obviously not arrived. Maybe it was an honest mistake by the manager double checking for his server, but it was a weird one because... while there may have been other reservations coming, there really was no one else there ordering food. The sushi was mediocre as the fish wasn't fresh. The best thing we had was the appetizer. Not impressed. I like Yuzu more. More pricey, but better service and better ambiance.
Gosu is a really cute restaurant with great service. The Korean food we tried was really tasty. The 2 sushi rolls we ordered were not good at all. They were mushy, fell apart, and the fish didn't seem all that fresh. I would certainly go back for the Korean food, but definitely not the sushi.
Above average sushi, excellent Korean food, comfortable environment and very nice staff - we'll be back!
This neighborhood spot serves incredible Korean and Japanese food with really inventive and delicious sushi offerings.
I would recommend Gosu on the service alone. Our waiter was helpful, attentive and friendly without ever crossing that threshold into noticeable over-serving. The food came quickly the whole night.
The fact was, the entree wasn't the best I've had. We had a sushi platter, and the nigiri was a little strange tasting with an unprecedented amount of wasabi between the fish and the rice. The appetizers, however (my boyfriend got a vegetable lettuce wrap while I ordered gyoza) were delicious.
It might not wow any real sushi snobs, but it was an enjoyable meal for a reasonable price.
I was with a group of 12 people. The food was as spectacular as the service! Enough said.
It has a huge menu, almost to the point of being overwhelming. We had mostly sushi, but the cooked items were definitely better. The chicken lettuce wraps were great. Our waiter was wonderful and the place is cute.
I showed up 15 minutes late to my reservation and they did not hesitate to show me to my seat as if I arrived early. The servers are great and giving you the attention you deserve.
After so-so appetizers my short rib was short of anything appetizing! I had to ask for a knife and a fork to cut the hockey puck....I mean short rib. I could barely finish the rubbery piece in my mouth. The texture was terrible but the taste was as well! After waiting 15 minutes to flag down the waiter to tell him about my meal I politely didn't want to eat. I just wanted it off of my bill. He came back telling me "it wasn't rubbery" and that's how "it's supposed to be" I was offended by his remarks and when he came back for the payment of bill (which I tipped him too generously) I told him besides the texture it didn't taste good! He then gave us another rude comment and told us to come back again.....no thanks!
Gosu has a big menu and the food is very tasty. The wait staff is knowledgeable about gluten allergies and they work with you to mae something delicious. The korean entrees are very good and the sushi is creative and tasty.
We escaped the bustle of overpriced New Year's Eve with this lovely little gem of a restaurant.
Great service. Good food.
Deep menu includes Japanese and Korean selections. Went with bul go gi and it did not disappoint. The Korean pickled veggies served with main course wee delicious. I will go back for more of those.
Food was pretty good--just ordered way too much. Had the Godzilla, Rambo, Spicy Lobster Roll, & Crunch Spicy Tuna. Food was great although the rolls are a little on the pricey side (most are ~$15). They turned the Hawks game on at our request and were very attentive when we needed something. When the waiter noticed we weren't going to finish everything he came by and gave his recommendation for which rolls kept the best which was very helpful since we did take some home!
