This is a restaurant that once you visit, you’ll just want to keep coming back. The food is consistently superb, innovative, and meticulously crafted by Chef Chris Nugent. The presentation is a work of art, as is the entire ambiance, courtesy of co-owner Nina Nugent. This remains our favorite Chicago restaurant and never disappoints!
Goosefoot is incredible. Incredible food with a wonderfully personal touch. The have great Covid measures as well with tables well spaced and plexiglass partitions between tables that are tastefully done and respect the decor of the space. Highly recommended
Definitely top 3 dining experiences in Chicago. Went here the last night before they closed indoor dining and they had done such a great job making the tables feel safe with plexiglass. The service and food was amazing and each course was so beautiful and delicious. Also love that they are BYOB ($10 corkage fee per bottle)!
Absolutely deserving of their Michelin star. This place had superb service from start to finish. Food and service for their tasting menu is without compare for the price point and portion sizes. Every item was simply fresh and so delicious. We were blown away, and will definitely be back. Thanks for a night to remember.
This restaurant definitely lived up to expectations. We had intended to come here for years and decided my wife's birthday was a great opportunity. The service and ambiance, even with COVID precautions, were excellent and warm. Very artistic and creative presentation and incorporation of the theme of the menu. Woodstock was the theme, and even all the flowers they used were edible. There was a great balance of spices and the use of different proteins and textures to make the palate happy and challenged. Flavorful and colorful sauces were abounding to keep anyone on their toes. Overall it was a wonderful experience. One of the owners, Nina, was very welcoming to us, and given the chance we would definitely appreciate a return visit.
Getting there: CTA's Brown line Rockwell stop is a very short walk from the restaurant.
The room: A quiet room (no doubt aided by COVD-related spacing and plexiglas dividers between the tables) with a serene, homey vibe. Woodstock-themed music was a nice volume. Co-owner Nina is charming and engages with each table throughout the evening.
Food: A well-paced chef's tasting menu, with a couple rounds of soup-type opening acts, two meat courses, and then several rounds of dessert offerings progressing from savory to sweet (though we felt like there were too many dessert rounds for our palate). All of the courses were presented beautifully and cooked to perfection. A few of the courses were truly sublime (roasted corn soup, beef, cheese course). It's literally the best beef entree I've ever tasted. There were some misses, but nothing jarring. Some of the flavors promised by the menu just didn't come through or were out of balance (for instance, one of the foam toppings was flavorless, and meyer lemon dominated the lobster). Truffles made an appearance in 3 separate courses which felt a bit much. Pricing is what you'd expect for a special occasion meal at a restaurant of this caliber.
The Woodstock theme was a little puzzling? The menu blurb and initial greeting at our table made it seem important to the experience. In the end we couldn't discern any connection (but enjoyed the soundtrack).
Highly recommend this place. Each course was executed perfectly and the presentation was incredible.

Amazing and beautiful multi-course meal (9 plus palate cleansing juice between savory/sweet and a to-go Goosefoot chocolate bar) in an intimate space. BYOB with no corkage fee if some wine is purchased from their shop next door. Good variety of reasonably priced wines (near retail price at Binny's or similar) that compliment the truly exquisite dishes. Great value plus BYOB perk, highly recommend to anyone skeptical of the multi-course/tasting menu approach to fine dining.
COVID Precautions: Staff diligently wore surgical masks throughout entire meal service. All cutlery for the entire meal was labeled (for each course, e.g., lobster, custard, etc.) in a covered box and pre-set on the table with a similar setup for all wine glasses. Large Plexiglas dividers were tastefully installed between tables with fabric seals along furniture. Adjacent tables were kept empty except for brief period when our early seating (5:45pm) overlapped with later seating (7:45pm). We felt very safe without feeling burdened or distracted by the precautions.
I felt very comfortable dining at Goosefoot in the time of COVID-19. They were very clear on mask requirements, had plexiglass barriers between each table, and they kept every other table unoccupied during our visit. We were celebrating my fiance's birthday, and they made a point of acknowledging him and making it special. The food was delicious!! My favorites were the corn and crab soup and the dessert custard, although every course was just gorgeous and incredibly tasty. We left very full and satisfied!

Goosefoot was wonderful on every level. We enjoyed the food, ambiance, and outstanding service. And we left totally stuffed, we had to take our final dessert course home in a box! The Covid-based precautions were thorough and thoughtful - we felt totally safe, while not detracting from the experience of our meal in any way.
The whole Goosefoot experience was amazing. From Nina calling ahead of time to confirm special occasion, our names and dietary needs, to the creative “Woodstock” theme and music playing the whole time, to the incredible food which we savored every bite of every course - everything far exceeded our expectations! They also took extra precautions including table dividers, all silverware on the table, distanced talking, masks, sanitizer - to make sure we felt comfortable dining out during the pandemic. We definitely will be coming back here!

Nina has to be one of the nicest and most genuine people I’ve ever met. The food was beyond outstanding and the service had a personal touch that I’ve never experienced anywhere else; they made you feel like family and not just customers. We went for my daughters graduation and not only did she get a personalized dessert, she also got a note from Chris and Nina congratulating her. I can’t say enough good things about the food. Each course was impeccable and the plating was beyond gorgeous. It’s not a surprise why they earned a Michelin star! We’re definitely going back.

This was one of the best dinners I’ve ever had! Everything was absolutely delicious and each dish was a work of art. Fun Woodstock theme provided entertainment and a table topic. Dessert was gorgeous and we each got to take home a beautiful golden Goosefoot chocolate bar! BYOB fee was waived bcuz we also bought a bottle from their store- great retail prices, not restaurant prices. We’re definitely coming back here!
Simply amazing experience all around. Best tasting menu I’ve had in Chicago. Ambience and food were inspiring, and each course was creative and delicious. The steps to adhere to COVID guidelines were also impressive with nice plexiglass separators between tables, extensive (yet not intrusive) signage, and touchless soap dispensers. Very nice to see a small family-owned business thriving.
