this is a great place to bring out of town friends. Good, consistent food and service.
We had an overall good experience at Goose and Gander, but it was all just average and not amazing. The burgers were over cooked - still tasty though- and my husband’ added bone marrow was non-existent. My cocktail, the Pimms cup, was very heavy on the bitters. It wasn’t great. We won’t rush back.
The food was good, priced for the Napa Valley, but the service was very poor (again)
We had brunch on the patio and it was really pretty on a nice day. The service was fantastic. The food was good and the presentation was perfect.
Dined at Goose & Gander many times over the past several year. They have never hit it out of the park in my book. Everytime they would miss on something, food not being hot, timing of the courses, waiter errors, etc. This time all of our food was not hot, room temp. One of our guests just wanted a salad with any protein and G & G had no options, ordered anyway. Salad was greens only with ROCK hard avocado, totally unacceptable. This was the final straw for me tonight, I will not return, EVER....................
Wonderful service, very, very fine food. Friendly and kind.
First time visitors upon recommendation from our driver in Napa. It was a lovely setting - outdoor dining in St. Helena (fabulous shopping there BTW). We had three things, but our favorite was their vege burger. You would never know it was not meat. Delish and would definitely go again. V. cool bar in lower level.
Great food and service was excellent. Meal was large enough to share- we had the prime rib
Everything was great, food, place....except when it came time for me to order my food. Servers ( or I should say some servers) forget that the person ordering the food is paying for their own food and we have every right to ask for it to be cooked the way WE want it. Our server seemed to be offended when I asked for my burger to be cooked medium/well.
Best burger ever, hands down. Service is impeccable. Variety of inside and outside tables. Very cozy.
Perfect outdoor setting with great menu. Friendly, helpful staff.
This is one of those restaurants that looks enormous on the website but is actually a cute, almost hidden secret around the corner from St Helena's main drag. The lower level bar and cocktails are amazing here! I love that there is outdoor seating in their patio garden. The food was overall good, but some plates were hit or miss. The bone marrow was delicious.
Awesome venue 1 block from Main Street in St. Helena. Terrific menu and cocktail options.
we went to G&G for my birthday... the food was excellent.. we had the duck fries, Caesar salad with black garlic aioli, foie gras with pb& j... & the duck breast ...
the food was excellent .
The food and service was excellent!!! It was an fantastic experience!!!I recommend it!
I’ve looked forward in ordering the hamburger with foie gras along with the French fries cooked in duck fat. So delicious!
I’ve been here before just for cocktails and I feel like that experience was better. The entrèe was just ok I had the chick with truffle gravy you couldn’t taste any truffle my friend had the rissoto which looked amazing but was way too cheesy it overpowered everything else, additionally they ran out of 1 menu item already. Service was great though and I love the atmosphere there, might be better for cocktails and a few apps.
Awesome burgers here with duck fat fries, definitely good comfort food.
They created a vegan meal for me by substituting ingredients from their menu.
Delicious variety of fresh creative food! So yummy
Great but a little expensive for a burger ...
A great place!!!
Only had outdoor seating so we had to eat in bar
Had a hard time choosing an entree because everything is so good. Server was helpful in our decision making process. The whole experience was wonderful.the food prepared perfectly. We frequently just order one each of their appetizers. Save room for dessert.
We were on a tight schedule because we were late. We informed the wait staff and they served us quickly, with a smile and made it possible for us to get back on schedule. To a person, we said we will return.
In an area noted for wine, I appreciated the choice of cocktails. The food is all-round excellent, but what stood our were the "bar bites." Vietnamese pig ears - yum! And fried olives (who knew?!) with pistachios. Service was great. The place is a bit loud for my taste, but it is, after all, a gastro-pub. We'll definitely go back, next time we're in St Helena.
If the weather is nice, request to sit outside. The cheeseboard was excellent, the pasta dish I had was spicy (highly recommend it) but the take 5 candy bar dessert, it was AMAZING.
We had an amazing lunch experience here on a recent girls trip to Napa and Sonoma. Food was wonderful, cocktails were just what you would want to enjoy in this great outdoor area.
Love this place, especially the outdoor... have to bring mh friends here to let them enjoy this beautiful place
Food and service were excellent! Great atmosphere!
We probably hit a bad evening for the ambiance. It was a bit cold so customers were split between the garden and indoors.
Despite a good service the atmosphere felt like a funeral hall! I would not be so hard if the food had been better but this was not the case ! We started with the grilled octopus which was decent but there were much more potatoes than octopus ! Then we shared an oven grilled cauliflower. The name sounded attractive leading to an even bigger disappointment. It was cold and drowned in an indescribable sauce made of probably a mixed of sour cream and tabasco (the chef is Mexican...) . Finally we had 2 hamburgers... usually a safe dish in US but the bread was too hard and the meat too cooked. As usual in Napa valley the wine was good and probably saved the evening. I will definitively not go back.
They must have been short handed because three different people asked us if we wanted a cocktail. There was no music. The menu is limited and unimaginative. We concluded that we could do better elsewhere, and left before ordering anything.
Drinks are good (just way too much ice).
Food was not what I expected AT ALL, not worth drive from American Canyon.
Service is the only thing saving this place. Awesome customer service but kitchen took over an hour to get our food done, when I finally received my food, it was cold and with egg (which I didn't want).
Will not be going back or recommending this place for food.
Came for Mother's Day brunch and ate outside near the koi pond, underneath the heaters. Great atmosphere and attentive, friendly service. We liked the menu: the donuts/holes appetizer was tasty (wish we had more!), the charcuterie board was a nice starter, and my mom and I LOVED the french toast with quail. We didn't really like the dessert special (creme brulee with raspberry and chocolate), but the chocolate cake hit the spot and overall the meal was lovely. Thanks for a great brunch in St. Helena!
Loved this restaurant!! I recommend sitting outside on the patio. Wonderful cocktails and great food. We will be back for sure!
Great, cozy bar downstairs. Always like to start there. Sat outside for dinner with friends and love the ambiance. Food is always amazing. I get the burger and fries and the wine list is incredible. Great by the glass options too. Most importantly, our server Ben was superb! Excellent hospitality every time we come in.
This was one of the best meals I’ve had in a while. The food was out of this world and so were the cocktails. The server was excellent and stuck the perfect balance between being attentive but not too intrusive. I will 100% be back here the next time I’m in Napa, it was an amazing experience!
Stopped in for lunch during a day of winery visits and did not disappoint. Mushroom soup was dee-lish-us!! All of us greatly enjoyed our meals of burger, fried chicken sandwich, cheese steak and a Cinco de Mayo chile rellenos special. Will definitely go there for dinner sometime soon.
Food just okay. Nice speciality cocktails and nice wine list. Meh.
