We waited 30 minutes for our table, even though our reservation was for 830 on a Saturday night, and they stopped seating at 9pm. Then we were warned that the kitchen was closing! So... this is a great menu if you're coming in for a deeply rich, fattening, dense meal. And nothing else. I honestly do not get the hype about this place. If I am rating it just on the gorgeous ambiance, then it's 5 stars. But other than that - the food was okay, the service was fine, the prices were ridiculous.
From beginning to end, our dining experience was perfect. My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate my birthday in the midst of this pandemic and it was such a welcomed (and safe) escape from our socially distanced norm. The staff was lovely and the food was absolutely delicious!
Food was very tasty. Service was great.
Perfect as usual! We love the patio. The service was attentive and professional but not overbearing. The Gazpahco and cornbread was delicious. Great Wine list.
Perfect sunny day; beautiful satisfying lunch. We had the burger; pork burger; and the wedge with steak. The fried olives and blistered peppers. The ambiance; service and food were off the chain!!!! We will Be back!
The ambiance was beautiful, service was great and the food was excellent!!!
This was our second time at Goose and Gander. We drove 51 miles just to have the burger. I had the burger with the duck egg. Phenomenal!!!
Service was impeccable again. Outdoor ambience is excellent as well!
Everything was grest
The food and the cocktails are exquisite, while tucked away off the main street. Excellent wine list too.
Food was good but felt that it was over priced, outdoor setting was wonderful.
Serene garden setting with excellent service and exquisite food. A little pricey but with it for the quality. This time I had the fig and tomato salad with ricotta. So good. Very complimentary flavores. The hubby had the G and G burger. Perfect as always and enough duck fat fries to share. A very unexpected taste treat were the fried olives and pistachios appetizer. VERY nice with anything bourbon. Or beer. Or wine. We tried then all! Thank you Jason H. For a wonderful lunch.
Just Amazing, well taken care of. Had a great experience here and the drinks were on another level. Thank you for all the hard work and thoughtfulness the team at G&G puts in. Made for a memorable night!
We had a wonderful dinner outside. Beautiful evening to dine outside. Food was excellent!
Danny our waiter was absolutely delightful and gave us the best recommendation, after we asked what hamburger he would recommend and he said hands down the classic. OMG it was soooo delicious!!! The restaurant was off the main road just down the block and it was nice and quaint with nice music in the background. It was my friends birthday so thanks to Danny, it was a wonderful experience. Everyone else was hospitable too. Thank you! Will be back!
Great food and setting
Amazing food, amazing service!
Loved our meal, the beautiful outdoor ambiance, the attentive service and our server- Max
After dinner drinks were amazing here! Great service. Our waiter was extremely helpful and nice. Would definitely go back.
As always, our meals and G&G are wonderful! The service is always excellent and the food delicious as well!
Thanks again for a great meal in St. Helena! We will always stop in when we visit!
The burger and fries was the best thing we had. The French toast and fried quail was not only gross to look at, but was cold and dry. It was our first time there but I don’t think we will return. Our server was great, though!
Food was fabulous as always. Rich, complex and layered with a range of options. Service was also very good but it was a warm day and we did have to ask for water/ice a couple of times.
Great food and atmosphere. We had good service also. Nice evening for a dinner out with family.
Pricey, but worth the expense for a special night out. Wonderful food and a lovely venue. The wait staff was friendly and efficient.
Fantastic meal, service and ambience! We’ll be back for sure!
Wonderful restaurant, great ambience and delicious food
We came and visited for lunch a few years earlier. This time we decided to end our day here and it was even better. Our waiter was fantastic, giving us enough space for our own conversation along with enough interactions to help us pick our next cocktail. The easiest way to explain how amazing this place was is to include our argument over whether the ice for the awesome cocktails was a mold or hand carved. To answer the question, it was hand carved.
Very pleasing experience with good food between our winery visits!
What a pleasure to eat here. Great outdoor setting. Fun and comfortable menu. Impressive wine list.
My husband Took a well needed escape to Napa to have just a nice quiet lunch together without the kids. I have to tell you, this was the perfect place for us! The outdoor seating was in a quaint beautiful area with lots of plants and trees around us. The social distancing was absolutely perfect. The staff was very welcoming. Now let’s talk about the food. Our reservation was for 1145 so it was a brunch. We ordered the special appetizer of the day which was a stuffed blossom. I’ve never had anything like it! My husband got the 30 day aged steak and eggs and I got the eggs and hash. The Food was amazing. My husband who is an old fashion lover, had the best old fashion ever. It was the Bali old fashion for those of you who are looking for a great one. They had a great wine list to accompany occasion as well. I highly suggest you visit!
the food was excellent the service was perfect and the courtyard was delightful for our party of 12 VERY well done Goose!
Chicken was raw.
Told them, they came back after 10 minutes, chicken still raw. Very disappointed.
We were in Napa/Sonoma for two days to celebrate a few birthdays in our group of friends. Out of all the choices, we landed on Goose & Gander and are glad we did! The food and wine were excellent, and the outdoor dining experience was so charming and quiet.
It was fantastic! It was 100 degrees outside and brutal. The servers were totally on top of things, fully masked and still with amazing service. And keeping our ice waters full!!! It was our anniversary and they made it so special. Special menus and champagne and a candle on our dessert!!!
Just wonderful food
Best gazpacho ever
We ate here as a group of 4 on Labor Day weekend for lunch.
I bet this is a really pretty restaurant at night on the patio. We appreciated the ability to reserve on open Table (reduce one more phone call for overall planning).
When we arrived, we were informed that only the brunch menu was being served. We were a little bummed as the lunch menu has more options and I had my eye especially on a few items on the lunch menu.
We ordered the heirloom tomato & stone fruit salad, french toast & quail, a burger and sides (duck fat fries, cornbread, churros).
- The waitress told us that the heirloom tomato is a decent size. I have to say it was delicious with the buratta or whatever cheese was used. However it was $18 for maybe *one* tomato and *one* stone fruit. we ordered salads at other Sonoma/Napa restaurants over the weekend that we could barely finish. I have to say this became a bit of a running joke over the weekend as it just seemed so silly the waitress thought this could be filling and the cost, of course.
- The french toast was dry & the quail was mushy. Not sure about that combo
- The fries & cornbread were fine.
- the churro was quite good, very hot and soft when it came out. However, it was $12. For 2 churros. We know Sonoma & Napa can be expensive but this is just bordering a little ridiculous.
Overall, the food is fine, the atmosphere seems great and it if was cooler, we may have been willing to hang out longer and have drinks. Our server was not very attentive and it was extremely hot - so we were eager for water refills in addition to our drinks of choice.
We go to the area 2-3 times a year but I am not sure yet if this will be a repeat for us.
Not what you would expect for the prices
Outstanding meal! One of our top favorite meals ever.
Beautiful and delicious! Fabulous service. My second time here and it was as good as the first. Highly recommend!
Excellent on every level! Service was top notch and the food was creative and delicious.
