Momo our server was great. Fantastic views and a marvellous experience overall.
You’re paying for the view. But 21£ a drink is less than 120£ each for the viewing platform. Got an amazing table and the staff were very friendly. Drinks are nothing special. Spoons could manage the same
Food is extremely overpriced and standard at most. Drinks are amazing and the view unmatchable.
Excellent views and experience
Drinks over priced and quality nothing special.
Overall worth it for the experience.
Strongly recommend the champagne 🍾 by the window @ gong.
On arrival we were sat in a corner that was tantamount to a sauna. We were moved to seats just as hot. We were then served extremely expensive cocktail in PLASTIC glasses. PLASTIC. Needless to say the drinks tasted awful, I wouldn't have paid a quarter the price. We were moved again on request to an area we would get real glasses. This area was air-conditioned, why weren't we sat here to start with?! Will never go back, waste of money and energy. Topping it off we had to exit the building to go up to the viewing point, why on earth?! £70 for 2 awful drinks and some califonia rolls, you do the maths 🤦♂️
Nice bar, great views but you are paying for the views only.
The views were great but the windows were dirty on the inside and there was food on the floor where we sat. I felt like the seating areas needed updating and cleaning in general.
Food was average, definitely not the quality I expected. Very polite staff. Views breathtaking. Service quick. There was delay in preparing our table so we were shown to our table 15 mins later than our booking, we were asked to leave 1.15 minutes later, on the dot. Worth going once, maybe.
We got moved from poolside to the main bar and a window seat so evening ended up being amazing - main thing to watch is booking online it’s not always clear whether you are in the main bar - waitress amazingly helpful at ensuring we got a good seat!
terrible service, needs renovation- view is nice in some areas where you are not blocked. resembles an overpriced tourist attraction with no style
The view from Gong is just amazing and worth a visit. Drinks prices are high but they do come with great views.
We only had our table for 1 1/2 hrs and were aware , when the time was up and lots of tables were still empty we asked if we could stay longer and were told we'd need to change tables and could have max another half hour which did seem a bit strange with so many free seats.
Reviews are incorrect! I had a wonderful night at Gong. Staff were very friendly and helped make sure I had a pleasant evening.
Cocktails were good and perfectly mixed.
Service was exceptional.
Had a wonderful time
It's really expensive but you pay for the views. A great place for a late night nightcap.
I feel standards have slipped slightly! Half of towie were in ther
Allocated table was in the middle of the room so view was not always great.
The drinks list is quite short considering that it’s a cocktail bar, but the quality was satisfactory.
Food portions are what I expected, so nothing to complain there. However hot food is served cold, which is not great and had to ask to change.
Staff was great, attentive and polite.
Recommend taking the window package, or choose another bar if you’re looking for better quality drinks.
I had an absolutely lovely time ,service absolutely amazing ,Could not fault in anyway ,all I can say is thank you for a lovely evening
Disappointing welcoming poor
Girls in red dresses not interested in customer just themselves. Would not recommend poor service poor experience
It’s a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Amazing cocktails and service. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and make great recommendations.
Had an amazing time at gong bar. The service was incredible, and all the staff were very nice and friendly and helpful at recommending drinks. Not to mention the beautiful view. Birthday very well spent.
We booked the champagne and sushi experience with a window seat, my partner has a gluten intolerance and the staff made sure everything that was cooked was suitable for her. We had an additional deluxe cocktail after food which was delicious! The staff were amazing and couldn’t do more for us. Would definitely do it again.
Great views, wine and service - we also enjoyed the bento box
Beautiful special place to enjoy a celebration. Only downside was 15 hour booking slot.
Service was really really good. It was very busy, but the staff was attentive and quick for any requests. Attention to detail was immaculate.
I would highly recommend to anyone to go and enjoy the experience in particular.
Will be returning soon!
Birthday drinks, first experience in the shard, it was excellent will definitely be back.
Good view - great service. Expensive but worth it for the unique experience
Stunning setting and excellent views across the city. It’s expensive, but only as you’d expect from one of the country’s top hotels
I have made a (surprise) reservation for a birthday celebration. Nothing extra, just a round of drinks as the birthday boy really wanted to visit and have the experience with the view.
The only person who recognized the birthday was the ground floor host. She congratulated which was greatly appreciated and genuinely unexpected from the birthday boy. We went upstairs and everything became generic.
I would point out only the female waitress/runner. I discreetly asked her to sort the payment and she was very understanding and accomodating. A big 'thank you' to her! The rest of the team seemingly nice, but I would appreciate a simple 'happy birthday' to the birthday boy.
The only highlight for me was the birthday wishes from the lobby host.
We saw the view... so there is no other reason for us to return anymore unfortunately.
AmaZing and attentive service! Very covid secure without it damaging the experience. Food was 10/10 as always!
Outstanding views, however we only wanted to pop in for one drink and was told as we were being seated it's a min spend of £30 per head. Resulting in 4 drinks costing £70.... A lot more than we intended. The ladies toilets are situated.in the gym /pool area so if you are dresses smartly as per the dress code you are sharing bathrooms with the pool and gym users who are sopping wet. Meanwhile the men's toilets are nice and seperate.
I requested a surprise cake which never came
The view is outstanding indeed. They gave us window seating. You get 1hr 30mins for the table which is a reasonable timeslot. We felt we were rushed into ordering for the drinks which was a little upsetting because we wanted to read and understand what their handcrafted cocktails were before placing our order. I got time to do that but my husband did not, and they had only provided 1 tablet between us to share (as the menu). I also did not understand the concept of having a tablet as your menu when you could not place an oder through the Tablet. The waiter still had to come to our table to take our order. So, what is the point of the Tablet/Ipad? Just for viewing the menu? Then why not create hardcopies and provide one to each person if you want us to place orders quickly? That is something they need to work on.
Food was top quality and portions were good. Cocktails were not bad. Again, you're going for the view, for the experience of it all and with those we were beyond pleased.
Booked months in advance as a treat for my partner’s birthday and was put on the worst table in the restaurant. Asked to be moved to a better table and was told it was not possible. Poor service - staff left us waiting 40 minutes for a drink and 50 minutes for food. They did offer me a free drink and took a small amount off the bill but I would have preferred a decent table and good service. Would not recommend and would not go again.
Fabulous views across the Thames. Good service and nice food.
We were staying at the Shangri La Hotel and visited this bar. It's amazing being 50 floors high. However I didn't like the taste of any of the cocktails and they are a LOT of money.
Having a time limit on the table and a minimum spend is also not ideal. You have to spend £30 each plus service in the hour time slot. It's not the most romantic of experiences.
I would recommend a drink at Hutong instead where there's no annoying rules and nicer cocktails; ambience and experience is much better there.
Cocktails were very very good. Table service was fine, but we were reminded several times that “you’ve only got the table for an hour and a half” - you only need to let us know once so it felt like we were constantly in a rush and it wasn’t as relaxing as it should have been.
This was our first visit and certainly won’t be our last! The service was outstanding as was the food. The view was out of this world.
Thank you Gong for making our first visit so memorable x
Lovely place. The manager did his best to accommodate us at the window eventually. The cocktails are their own so, for instance, my pornstar martini was not the usual surgery passion fruit drink. Really good.
We didn't have any food but it looked good too.
