Golf's Steak House & Seafood Ratings and Reviews
We had a wonderful dinner, so much food! And it was all very good. The salad bar had a great selection, and everything was good quality. The only thing we didn't have was dessert, although the desert tray looked amazing. There just wasn't room! The service was excellent. We were not disappointed.
We have enjoyed Golf’s Steak House for many years and we have never been disappointed. We couldn’t be accommodated in the Somarium so they opened up a room beyond the salad bar for us. It was very much appreciated. We were a party of 9 so it was nice that we could s speak to each other.
Enjoyed a Family gathering at Golf's. Our party included a 2 year old and the staff was very helpful in having the children's meal ready right away while the adults took our time ordering. The food was very good, served hot with the requested substitutions. The salad bar had an assortment of choices for all tastes. A wonderful experience again. I would recommend Golf's for any type of gathering.
Golfs has been a favourite restaurant of mine for years. I have noticed it going downhill. The last two times I have been there, I have been disappointed. This time the service was very slow. The waitress was very apologetic for it, but it was very slow. My husband got the prime rib and asked for it cooked "medium". It was very rare. He should have sent it back, but it took so long to get it, he chose not to.
The potatoe choices were disappointing, as was the soup and the salad bar. I have found the salad bar slowly going downhill too. Not sure I can put my finger on it...just not what it used to be. No potatoe salad last several visits.
Just not sure I will return any time soon. Just disappointed.
We were a group of 8. Everyone's meal was excellent and the portions 'large'. I should have made a point of confirming the name of our server for the evening because this woman was unbelievable, in absolutely every single aspect; knowledge, efficiency, humour, efficiency, politeness. Made the celebration of our 91 year old grandmothers birthday extremely enjoyable.
This was our third visit and as usual the food was excellent. We both ordered surf and turf, unfortunately my steak was undercooked and the waitress did not return until we were almost done our entire meal. That being said it was still a great experience and I would highly recommend this restaurant.
We love this place but last experience was a bit off. We weren’t greeted at the front desk and stood there for a good 10 mins before we told the host that we had a reservation.
I’ve put special instructions to have a seat by the window over looking the river during reservation. I guess that never happens and we weren’t even told that maybe there isn’t one available? It was for a special occasion so the proper atmosphere would be nice.
Food is great and things were a bit slow that night. Please ensure to read the special request when seating the reservation.
Very much looking forward to our first visit in a few years to celebrate a 70th birthday. We were somewhat disappointed in the tired and worn appearance of the restaurant - really needs a complete make over - and our dinners were a little less than we had anticipated.
Atmosphere was still nice but the overall experience was not what we were looking forward to.
Our evening went as we had hoped for, everything was excellent. In casual conversation with our hostess, she asked if today was a "special" day. Yes it is, our 59th wedding anniversary. At the end of our main, she arrived with a large portion of wonderful cake, on the edge of the plate in chocolate was written, "Happy 59th Anniversary". Wonderful evening, hope to see you for the 60th.
Our service was excellent and friendly. The food was good and brought timely. The salad bar is nice. We had a nice view at our table. They brought us free dessert. The pricing is very good for the quality and service. We would recommend to our friends and family.
We particularly appreciate the Monday Seniors Menu. The value for us seniors is outstanding and the food is delicious. We like being greeted by the owner or family, and invariably we enjoy our server. All in all, dining at Golf's is a very good experience. Parking is easy too.
Last minute reservation to celebrate a birthday. Reserved on line and indicated it was for a Birthday - they brought a wonderful piece of Cherry Cheesecake compliments of Golf as birthday cake.
Meal was very reasonably priced; all of us ordered one of the specials - prime rib or steak.
Salad bar, small soup included with the specials; plenty to eat and pleasantly surprised when bill arrived.
I would not hesitate to return and would highly recommend. You won't get your high class atmosphere but I don't think you will be disappointed.
They let us hang around and chat while we finished our drinks and had coffee; we didn't feel pressured to hurry out even though it was a Friday night.
Salad bar as good. 1 order of seafood was good, 1 order hamburger and fries was good, out of 6 steak orders only 2 were cooked as ordered. 3 were ordered medium well and came fully cooked and dry but tender. I ordered medium came very rare and was sent back. It was my wife's birthday and we have gone to Golfs before for special occasions and everything was great. Something has obviously changed and I don't think we'll be going back. 8 ladies beside us were celebrating something and they were so loud we could not talk to each other( not Golfs fault but they have asked them to tone it down). It was not an enjoyable way to spend $300.00.
There were four of us that went there on a Monday night for the seniors meal. The service was outstanding. Three ordered the steak meal and they said it was delicious. I, however, ordered the ribs and they were not good at all. Very tough and dry. We have been here many times and love the setting, food and service. However, this night, my meal was not the best. It won't stop us from coming back but don't order the ribs. Thank you.
Always love the Sunday brunch and come for special occasions! There wasn't any Creme Brulee this time around, which is always a favourite of mine at Golfs, though even that can't stop me from loving my experience. Great food, great atmosphere, and great employees. Staff is always on top of drinks/dishes, very friendly, and VERY professional. Don't ever change!!
Thanks again for everything :)
I really wanted to like this place! My boyfriend took me here to celebrate my new job. I ordered the prime rib and it was very salty and over cooked. I also ordered the fish of the day, salmon, as take out for my mom. The fish was extremely salty and had no taste. We had a nice view of the waterfront but the window appeared streaky and dirty. My waitress was friendly but the other staff did not have a pleasant smile on their face. If you make eye contact with a customer Or walk by them a smile or "hello" would be polite.
Food - i am a vegan (but not overly picky) so I opted for the stir-fry, my husband had the prime rib. He said his meal was good, but nothing special. The stir fry was awful - it was sweetened, like they had added sugar to it. Very disappointing to say the least. The salad bar was okay, but far to many options with pasta.
Our server was great - very attentive and friendly
Room itself, was somewhat dated looking. Seems like it would be a popular spot for a more mature crowd (meat and potatoes era)
