Another great evening at the Golf everything was perfect as usual.
We have been dining at this restaurant since it opened and still has not disappointed. One of the few restaurants in town with a salad bar. Not really a good place for "foodies", but good, well-prepared food always. Staff has always been more than accommodating, friendly and efficient. One of my favourites.
Golfs is above standard. Always one of my favourite places to go with my wife. Price is more than your typical chain restaurant, but the quality is why. You get what you pay for!
We had a lovely dinner by the window in the alcove (as requested on our OPEN TABLE reservation). Our server Hailey was wonderful, and the food was as delicious as always. We definitely be back for other occasions and look forward to another window seat. We really like that area of the restaurant.
Always have the chateau Briand and is always good. Only thing that is missing from this dish is that it should be served with a bernaies sauce
Have been coming to golf's for almost 40 years and have never been disappointed in any aspect. Exceptional food and service and great ambience. Some of the best prime rib anywhere!
I choose the Gulf Steakhouse to celebrate my 60th birthday. I have been there 2 previous times for a company Christmas dinner. I knew I had to go back. The food was excellent and there steak. T-Bone steaks were ordered and it was so big. It covered the whole plate. I would strongly recommend the Gulf Steakhouse for any occasion.
Excellent food. Good service. Very quick. Always good
Have been to Golfs many times but unfortunately this time was an awful experience.
1 guest Ordered a steak that was suppose to be well done and it was bloody, another guest ordered a medium well steak and it was also bloody.
The only thing that was offered was a free desert and paid 150 for steaks that were poor quality and not properly done. I worked in the restaurant industry for years and this was a very disappointing experience. I don’t think I will be going back for a long time. Long enough that they can hire a chef with proper skills. The waitress was awesome thought.
It was noisy were we were. A birthday party was going on right behind us. Made it hard to hear everyone at the table.
Our waitress was very nice and attentive. At the end of the meal, she brought out a piece of cherry cheesecake with a candle for us to share because it was a birthday celebration. The wine was awful. The salad bar was very sad looking and all the pasta salads tasted the same. My meal came without the au jus and garlic bread it was advertised with. The prime rib was tatsteless and my veggies were mush.
I was very disappointed with this birthday dinner and will not be back to this place. It was the third time in a row that the food has been less than satisfactory. Our first time there, it was delicious and a little darker inside so the ambiance was a touch of romance and less funeral parlour, as it displays in brighter light.
We will not be back.
I went for the Sunday brunch. The food was pretty good. I am not a foodie but nothing really stood out as fantastic. The beef ribs were close. Lots of different desserts available. While I was there, what was really bothering me is their serving area is way too cramped for all the people at the buffet. I could barely maneuver around everyone to get food. I would say this was marginally better than a Golden Coral (in the states) but price was about double.
we were there Sat March 10th. Food was very very good from the soup to main course and the drinks. Our round table was crowded for six and one chair was almost up against another table. Waiter was awesome and we only had to remind him of one missed drink. There was food on the floor beside me, not liking that much. And I had mentioned my 65th birthday upon reserving and would have been nice for them to acknowledge it.
Over all a 4 out of 5....
This is our go to place for special occasions....family gatherings....or sometimes just a night out with a friend. Never disappointed
My family dined at Golf Steak House on a recent Friday evening to celebrate a birthday. We were a group of 7 adults and a toddler. I ensured that they knew we were bringing a toddler and would need a high chair. We were greeted promptly and politely and escorted to our table which was in a quiet area of the restaurant with plenty of room for the high chair. We ordered a variety of menu items including ribs, seafood and prime rib. The portion sizes were plentiful and the food was delicious. The birthday girl (age 35) was presented with a complimentary dessert complete with lit candle. Overall we were quite pleased with our dining experience at Golf Steak House.
We were a group of four celebrating a birthday. The food was absolutely delicious. Three had the steak and I had the fish. Looking forward to coming again.
Everything was perfect as usual
General food quality was poor. Buffet area is very crowded and difficult to navigate when busy. Tables very crowded and very tired looking decor. Will not go back.
My girlfriend and I went for the Chateau Briand. One of the few places in K-W that serves it. We also added Scallops, Shrimp and a lobster tail. All were awesome! We would recommend Golf's and will be returning ourselves.
The soup was cold as was the coffee. The appetizers, soup and salad bar all arrived at the same time. The entrees and desert were good. Overall we felt very rushed like we had to eat and get out so they could fill the table again. Would probably not return or recommend. Sorry.
Great food as always. Our server didn't see to us for a good 5 minutes and so we flagged another Server who happily took our table and was a great Hostess! Always love the food at Golfs especially steak and rack of lamb (never tried the seafood).
The prices have gone up but it's still good value. The restaurant was fairly busy and we had a couple noisy tables close to us which we found annoying. They did leave after awhile so we were able to enjoy our meals. We have noted the absence of my husband's favourite potato salad from the salad bar over our last few visits. In comparison, I counted 5 different pasta salads which is a couple too many. We mentioned this to the waitress and she said she would check the kitchen and low and behold, she brought out a serving of freshly made potato salad for us. The staff are always pleasant and aiming to please. Another enjoyable meal - thank you!
Our servicer was excellent. The food was good. I had veal paramsan & my husband had the strip loin. The desert was excellent-cream brûlée.
We arrived at 11:30am for our brunch. We hadn't seen each other for quite some time and had lots of catching up to do. We didn't leave until 3 and everyone was so polite. No one made us feel rushed or that they wanted us to leave sooner. A completely pleasant meal - terrific food and the staff were wonderful!
Thanks for the great experience!
Been coming here for many years . always amazing food and amazing service . once we came here for dinner after leaving a diffrent restaurant cuz we were not treated nice and our waiter was amazing and even covered the cost of our meal .. Amazing place !!!
Gulf is one of my favourite places to eat since I was born literally. My father used to be one of the chefs at this restaurant. Their staff are like family to me and treat us alike. The food is always amazing and I was very impressed by our waitress who was insanely fast with everything including the dog bag. I would highly recommend to everyone to come here.
We always love going here to eat! We go on special occasions always!
Always a great night out!
Used to be a place that was more fairly priced and offered a really good salad bar with shrimp etc but now no more shrimp in salad bar and heavy mayonnaised items.
Also prices have jumped. Even had the other table
Couple asking when did the prices jump and waitress said a few months ago. Their prices are now like more high end restaurants but not the high end atmosphere nor updated decor to reflect the price jump. The price would go visit one of the Charcoal Group owned Restaurants in the kitchener waterloo area
We had a very enjoyable family birthday diner in pleasing surroundings.
The person (owner) greeting us when we arrived needs to smile and be cordial and welcoming. He was not!
The salad bar needs more green! The tossed salad had unappealing, unhealthy yellow iceberg lettuce. Should be dark green lettuce and or spinach leaves.
Great food and atmosphere! Excellent for any occasion.
Good food with fair prices...
I had not been to Golfs in many years but decided to go for their Sunday brunch. The price was reasonable and the last time I had gone the place was feeling worn and needed a facelift. It does look better visually and the staff was very attentive . My biggest beef was how crowded it was. The line to get to the buffet was at least 20-25 people deep and you were just standing on top of people and trying to move out of people's way who were trying to get back to their seats with full plates. It felt like they overbooked and didn't care about the customers experience. I didn't want to fight the line to go back up once I got my food. I just wanted to eat and couldn't wait to get out. It's too bad because if they limited the amount of seating it would have ended in a different dining experience. I'd rather pay more and go to the Cambridge Mill where I'm not run over by so many people and have controlled seating. But the more people they cram in the more $$. I get it. But I won't be going back.
This is a very elegant restaurant . We went for a early date night and had a seat by the window with a beautiful view of the Grand river . We had the surf and turf and Alaskan crab legs . It was delicious along with the calamari rings . There is a salad bar that had something for everyone . My husband and I were pleased with the service and food .
We will definitely visit again .
This is my favorite restaurant in the KW area. Great menu choices and all meals come with the salad bar which is exceptional! The meals always arrive hot and always right after we have finished eating from the salad bar. The portions are always large too, so we usually don't have room for dessert, but when we do, it too is delicious!!
Great place to dine, great food, great value, only place to go for prime rib! Service is always friendly , have been eating here for years!
Only disappointment was the temperature of the meat portions of our meal (steak and ribs). They were lukewarm.
Prime rib was fantastic though perhaps a little overdone. The medium rare was more medium, and the rare more medium rare. Prices are excellent, and the food good quality.
The food was good as usual but two of our steaks were over done. The waitress was not friendly like the normal staff we always get
