Golf's Steak House & Seafood
Service was great, food was good
Everything was ready for us when we arrived, right down to the highchair. We had a wonderful time and we were well taken care of. Our birthday boy felt very special. We had 12 people and everyone enjoyed their food. One small glitch with some Prime Rib was taken care of right away.
Absolutely amazing will come back and will bring friends and family.
Server was excellent. Food was OK except for:
a. Chicken Parmesan was overdone as it was hard and crusty on outside - like it was sitting under a heat lamp fir a long time.
b. Mashed Parm potatos was clumpy and not smooth. Almost like an instant mashed sitting around too long.
Excellent family restaurant. High quality, generous portions.
Three out of four people order surf and turf. Steaks were good but lobster was very disappointing. All were very over cooked and tuff. Very disappointed. Staff offered to replace but said no because buy the time you would get new lobster rest of meal would be cold. Comp are dessert instead.
Absolutely the best of my dining time before a theatre date (which was the worst).
5 of 10 of us were celebrating birthdays! Great cheesecake including candle for each of us. Great time as always
We have eaten at the Golf several times .What I have found over the years is that the salad bar has went down hill, very limited limited selection.
Also they should offer more than one type of bread with the meat as not everyone likes garlic bread.
I am not sure at this point if we will go back.
Love the online reservation. Food always delicious. Good presentation. Excellent service. Reasonable prices. A family favourite.
Fantastic as always
We had a horrible experience on new years eve.
I requested my steak to be cooked to medium liking and when I received it was well done. I had sent it back and the second time I recieved it was completely raw. With disappointment we asked for our bill and when we received our change it was completely incorrect change returned.
On top of that this restuarant/server had the audacity to charge me for the side of mushrooms I ordered with my steak which I didn't even enjoy.
Poor customer service I have ever received, very disappointed as this was suppose to be a date night for my husband and I.
Finding a baby sitter for our two kids under the ages of 2 was hard enough and to top it off with the horrendous night was completely devastating.
The manager never once tried to reimburse us in any way.
Simply sad and disgusting
Ordered steak was quite thick and can understand why it would be more difficult to cook properly. But was pretty raw on the inside.Server didnt come back for 10-15 minutes at this point i had finished the rest of my meal, the steak was taken back to the kitchen. When it returned it seemed to just have been warmed up, maybe a little less raw in the middle but by that point i had lost my appetite and patience with getting it right.
As always great food and service.Atmosphere is great ..children love dining here also
The selection for Brunch was limited, and pricey at 30.00. Not much to offer for teens and children. Overpriced for the quality, and quantity offered. Chairs are too close together, making it difficult to get up for the buffet.
Food was good
a little cramped seating
price is high for brunch
Always a good choice to take my wife for our anniversary or her birthday. With the salad bar and soup included Golfs offers probably the best value for a restaurant in it's class in Waterloo region.
My wife loves the prime rib and there are many other options. The service is always good.
Golfs offers a decent meal at a decent price. No surprises
I had some bacon wrapped scallops which looked and tasted like they were deep fried. I expected pan seared in garlic butter from this kind of steak house. The prime rib was good but I did not get aujus as the rest of the table. Also ordered sweet potatoes and got baked potatoe....the server brought the sweet potatoes right away so that was good.
The décor is very, very dated and slightly run down.
This was the first time we had been to Golfs Steak House and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We liked that there was no loud music playing which is what you get at a lot of eating establishments. You could actually carry on a conversation. The food was excellent and so was the service. We will definitely be returning. Great experience.
The food and service was terrific. We had a very enjoyable dinner.
Only thing I would do is add more items to the salad bar so you can make a good salad
Instead of all the pre mades
There is lettuce but not alot of options for it
I have been to this restaurant many times over the years. But, unfortunately, this was one of the worst experiences I have encountered. Out of the eight of us, two people had their meals properly cooked. One had to be sent back because it was so well done and the manager came out to apologize. They recooked another one, sent it out and it was raw. They didn’t charge him for the meal, so my dad took home the meal and cooked it more and ate it then. My brothers meal was so rare that it was blue, even though he asked for medium. The prime rib that two of us had was so dried out that it tasted like well done roast beef. The salad bar was extremely disappointing. They had one type of lettuce, no tomatoes. It was a very poor selection.
The food was great as usual, but we found we were being rushed by the server with the meal, although the restaurant was only half full. This was on December 23, 2018.
Very pleasant evening. Our server was excellent. Food was well prepared. Golf's is a very nice restaurant. Above average for sure. Would be nice if you instituted a gentlemen remove their hat policy. My partner and went out for a date night, so dressed up a bit next to us was a man who didn't take his ball cap off. Low class.
As long time patrons ...for the first time ever we found the prime rib unpalatable. The other 4 diners
in our group had excellent meals. Unfortunately the birthday celebrant was the recipient of the cardboard prime rib. Our intent is to simply point this out...we will return, and will continue to recommend the restaurant. Golf's is the ultimate, preferred destination for all special occasions.
The Prime Rib was not the most tender cut I have ever had.
The Golf's is a staple in our family. We've dined there numerous times over the past decade. Food is always excellent, and we've always had great service. If you get seating in the Atrium that overlooks the river, it makes for a pretty decent back drop for a great meal. The weekend Brunch Buffet is always a hit!
Our server was absolutely fantastic and accommodating! Food was fabulous, our favourite restaurant
My wife and I celebrated our 47th anniversary with a dinner at Golf. It was a very good evening. The waitress was wonderful. She was a delight to talk to and was very attentive to all our needs.
The restaurant is always clean and pretty and ready to serve. The food was very good.
And a surprise complimentary dessert was a nice treat. A piece of cheese cake on a platter with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate and our waitress even remembered 47th year and had it written on the platter was well. Nice touch.
It is easy to recommend Golf to anyone.
30 Wedding Anniversary, had a private dining room set for 14 people. Was a great night.
Our server Christie was awesome! She was friendly and accommodating. The food was fantastic! Our anniversary was memorable!
My Steak was rare and was to be medium. Came back but it was not the best steak. Our potatoes were to be creamy mash potatoes but they were very dry and not enjoyable at all. This was mine and also the other
couple's. The staff handled it very well. Offered us a free desert which I wasn't looking for. Just wanted them to know the food was not up to the standard it should be. We really have always enjoyed our meals there before.
Birthday dinner Friday. My company Xmas party yesterday
Excellent food and service.
We had the prime rib and it was very good.
Three of my friends and I went to Golfs for a girls' night dinner. First thing I noticed was that when our waitress seated us she placed our menus directly on top of our bread and butter plates. I was actually very floored that a restaurant that has been in business as long as Golfs would not recognize that this was a highly unsanitary move. Think about how many people handle the menus. Then think about the amount of people that don't wash their hands after using the washroom and how many of these people may be sick. It was pretty disgusting. We didn't use our plates. Our dinners were ok but I think plain bread for a starter would be nice instead of garlic. It was cold and a bit hard. The garlic mashed potatoes were not creamy but a bit lumpy and had a very strong garlic flavour. And the meal was luke warm at best. The salad bar was old-fashioned and not very exciting. I don't think we will be back anytime soon but maybe in the future we will give it another chance.
Food was great as always.Amy our waitress was fantastic
Ridiculously good. I am a good cook, and could not equal the cuisine enjoyed here. Attentive staff made all in our party feel important. And without requesting same, two happy birthday cheesecakes were presented. With chocolate calligraphy!
I can't say enough good things about this place. While the price ranges to the higher side, it is worth every single penny.....or nickel rather as we don't use pennies. The restaurant itself is beautiful, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and they accomodate special requests. I love this place. The food was absolutely incredible. Cooked to perfection and brought to us in timely manner.
The Meal was Fantastic, Service was Great, will Certainly go Back
