Ethan Stowell and Four Seasons Hotel Seattle are thrilled to announce the name of their new restaurant collaboration: Goldfinch Tavern. Named for the state bird of Washington, the American goldfinch.
The upscale tavern pays homage to the city’s pioneer days, when taverns catered to lumberjacks and sailors alike, providing a place for travelers and locals to both socialize and conduct business, all while enjoying drinks and food.

We have a lot of business meetings here. Both the staff and food are top notch. This would also be a great location for a date night or celebration as the views are phenomenal.

You would expect near excellence at a four seasons restaurant. Sadly way below expectations. Omelet was tough, most everything was cold and people next complained about their eggs Benedict. An overall bad experience.
Emma was very, very knowledgeable of the menu and recommended a great drink (Purple Rain) and dishes. Everyone was very accommodating to the two allergies we had at our table and we all had a great time.
I had an incredible evening and can't thank the staff and the restaurant enough! I want someway to give 4.8 stars. While the food was amazing the main dish I ordered was not what I got. While it was still amazing I didn't want to make a mention of it there because we were having a great time and your team was so very polite and nice. Amazing all around otherwise.

The food was amazing! This is the 3rd Ethan Stowell restaurant we have been to and he never disappoints. I highly recommended the crab & beet salad. It’s fresh & light and the taste combinations are very complimentary.

Drinks were overpriced for what you got but the food tasted good and was more fairly priced.
This is a lovely spot with great views, excellent food and nice ambiance. It is on the pricey side - $7 for peach ice tea. They add a 20% service charge to all checks. So a lunchtime salmon sandwich, ice tea and the service charge will set you back $35.
I didn't notice if the service charge was on the menu. I have to say that were I tipping the gentleman who waited on our party of four women, I would not have tipped 20%. Our food took a long time to arrive at our table, and ten minutes after everyone had finished their meals, our plates were still sitting there before us. No one came to clear or to ask about dessert/coffee. The waiter was very nice, but they were not busy; I noticed him chatting with another server while we sat there with our dirty plates.
We went for brunch to end an amazing weekend in Seattle. Four of us ordered the eggs Benedict. The eggs appeared fine on outside, but we discovered the inside of eggs were almost fully hard boiled. Not one egg out of eight had a runny yolk. Our server didn’t come by for 10-15min. We let them know about the issue so the chef could fix it before other diners ordered. We were charged half price for two plates and full price for the others because of how much each person ate! Sincerely regret not ordering the lemon ricotta pancakes. Our friend ordered them and they were the best thing out of our group of 7.

Trust the chef! An amazing dining experience featuring 9 dishes. This changes daily, so you never know what you're gonna get, but I highly recommend trying this! It was superb!
Chose Goldfinch after I saw it mentioned on MSN that they have an excellent plant based menu. It did not disappoint.
Service was outstanding. Food was top notch. We started with the hummus bruschetta, which was very good. My vegan GF ordered the tempeh dish as an entree which was a nice portion and very tasty.
For my entree, I ordered the sweet potato and quinoa patty, and while it was delicious, I found the portion to be underwhelming as the dish did not come with a significant amount of vegetables.
Despite this, we would return. I would probably make sure to order more than the one small appetizer we shared...or go get a burger at Dick's afterwards. :-)
We got married
We had a guest that has a dairy allergy; she ordered a vegan dessert - and they accidentally brought her the wrong order leading to an allergic reaction. They were apologetic, but it still doesn’t forgive the oversight.
Another awesome brunch at Goldfinch! Kelly gave exceptional service, the food was delicious as always, we just love this place.
We had such good food for breakfast here. The service, the view, and the environment were perfect and lovely. We saw them setting up for Sunday Brunch and that looked amazing!
6 pm preconcert reservation. We each had a glass of Prosecco, then shared an appetizer, a side, a main and dessert. The cheese and apple toasts appetizer were so perfectly proportioned we were wondering if we should have saved them for dessert. Our main of scallops and vegetables was both beautiful and tasty. It's hard to cook scallops just right. Goldfinch did. We had a side of roasted mushrooms that perfectly complemented the main. Dessert was a cdrme blue--again, nothing too fancy but perfectly executed. Service was pleasant and unobtrusive. It wasn't cheap, but it was well worth the price.
Food is delicious but the buffet is very limited compared to other Four Seasons locations. Love the bottomless mimosas and the service is always excellent.
The "Trust the Chef" tasting menu is a great value! Last week's highlights were two fantastic seafood appetizers, perfectly cooked duck breast, and a whimsical and delicious dessert. The staff is great and the room is beautiful.
I surprised my wife with a Birthday Dinner and because she's recovering from surgery on her foot, I was limited on what I could do for her (I originally was going to surprised her with a trip to Hawaii) and after seeing this place on YouTube, I thought we'd give it a try.
We both appreciated being greeted by the Valet of which was very courteous and welcoming as they gave me the ticket and took care of us. We have a very nice view of the water and was nice being that the sun was setting as we were getting settled in.
Being our first time here it was a bit tricky on what we wanted, but decided to go with some familiar dishes for simplicity. She had the BEET & DUNGENESS CRAB SALAD for starters, and CEDAR PLANK KING SALMON for the entree. I went with the PRIME NY STRIP* 15 OZ with the GOLDFINCH LOBSTER MASHERS on the side (and out of curiosity). She LOVED the salad and was pleasantly surprised by the combination of the two, and enjoyed every bite. The lobster mashers came out and we both gave it a try, aaaand it was just okay. It wasn't bad, but I don't the taste/textures came together like it should have. The potatoes alone didn't have much flavor/taste to them, so the lobster compensated for it. Onto the Salmon/Steak. She liked the salmon, said it had a really great taste, a little undercooked, but she was okay with that. For my steak, I did ask for it to be Well Done, and it ALMOST was, but it did have pink in both the middle and on the side, so that makes it Medium-Well. I did let the server to let the cook/chef know, and usually I do send backs, but I wanted it to be a pleasant evening, so I just let it slide (as the A-1 helped). I did explain that I spent many years in the Army as a cook, so do know what it takes to cook a steak.
Outside of that, they made her a nice cheesecake dessert, which she loved so that brought it home. They also comp'd the Valet, and that made it even better. We'll definitely be back again to try out the buffet.
