Agradable y decorado con buen gusto, el servicio rápido y antento
We come to Las Vegas to visit with family and have
dinner at the Golden Steer. It has always been our favorite restaurant. We would still recommend it, but our experience this time was less than enjoyable. The food was OK, not really good, just OK. A tremondous departure from what we have become accustomed to. The service is what really put us off. When the waiter asked if we were ready to order (after we had finished our appitisers) and we said we were just enjoying our wine. He said the restaurant had booked the table for later and we would not be able to stay forever. It was not our intent to stay forever, just enjoy our dinner. I am deeply disapointed.
At age 62, this is a throwback to the good old days. You won't get out cheap$ , but you'll feel good when you leave, knowing you were well fed in a famous setting and you had no negatives to talk about. And, the steak was pretty darned good too.
This is our favorite classic steakhouse in Vegas. From the awesome cocktails, tableside caesar salad, delicious steaks and seafood, and tableside bananas foster and cherries jubilee. The wait staff is classy and refined. We always have to put Golden Steer on our list when we go to Vegas.
Went for my birthday while on vacation. Well worth the trip off the strip. It’s exactly what you think of for a vintage steakhouse: large U shapes booths set for 2, servers working as a team for a whole room, Caesar salad made at the table, flambé for dessert. It wasn’t gimmicky and a nice change from the modern hyped up celebrity restaurants.
We were not impressed. It was definitely not near as good as Delmonico’s, Vic and Anthony’s or Ruth’s Chris. I would not go there again.
Fun place with great prime rib
The restaurant, waitstaff, food, dessert was AWESOME! We'll definitely be back the next time we visit Vegas. Highly recommended!
We had a strong recommendation from a friend to try The Golden Steer, so when we were in Las Vegas from Boston we knew we wanted at least one steak dinner from this old school restaurant. We were not disappointed ! The Fillet Mignons and Chateau Briands were just what we were seeking, and my Aunt loved the house Cabernet Sauvignon.
Brian was a very attentive server, and the service was excellent.
We will absolutely go again.
Best restaurant in Las Vegas! My compliment to the Chef.
Hostess was amazing, she really went above and beyond to ensure we had a booth. Bartenders Allysa and Paty we’re awesome; excellent margaritas!
All waiters were extremely polite, very attentive and just such a pleasant service. Loved the ceaser salad!
Marvelous food and great service — every-time in Vegas a MUST
Famous place and a million words have been written. All I can add are two points. First, the staff is even better than you could expect. Amazingly professional. You never feel as though they are hovering but they seem to anticipate what you need. Second, the incredible attention to detail means even the smallest tasks are done to perfection.
Good food ,excellent service a bit overpriced.I would recommend it for special occasions. The old Los Vagus charm is everywhere and a real contrast to the new city .The prime rib is good, the Cesar Salad was average and the mushrooms were excellent. The staff was very attentive and our waiter was very knowledgeable about the wine list.
Service is always on point and the food is always as well. Always look forward to a chance to dine at the Golden Steer and no matter how many times I hear the story about the restaurants history it never gets old!
I have been patronizing the Golden Steer very year for the past 10 while attending the NAB show. Up to this point I loved it but this visit the server was rude, the steak was mediocre and it was incorrectly cooked.
Probably will drive a little further out Sahara.
Have to be fair with this review and really what you go to the Golden Steer for is the ambience and also that old Las Vegas flare If you’re very into history this is the place for you however don’t expect a five-star meal either small Improvements that can be made however if you’re looking for an extraordinary me up this is not the place but I feel looking for an experience this is the place
The food was amazing! The service was amazing! And the history is so neat with it being the oldest steak house in Las Vegas!
This restaurant is so very overrated. My steak was overcooked (requested rare to med rare--got medium well) and had to be sent back; although it was cooked as ordered when it came back, it was quite tough and surprisingly tasteless for a ribeye. The table-side Caesar was nothing remarkable other than its price at $12 each; the twice baked potato was dry, overcooked and bland. All in all, this was a serious disappointment given the history and reputation. The service was friendly and responsive--the waitstaff is their best asset--but we won't return and will warn others to proceed with caution.
Every time we go to Vegas we make a trip to the Golden Steer. The steak is always tasty (ribeye) and the sides good (esp creamed spinach). This was the first time getting the creamed corn b/c we were with kids and it was way too sweet. I am a fan of creamed corn and this was a lot different than I've previously had. Next time we'll have to save room for the bananas foster!
First time to the Golden Steer. The food and experience was awesome. Our server Scott was great. Will dine again when we go back
Hadn't been in a long time, went for anniversary. Could not have been better service or food.
Waiters forgot about my son and I sitting at the Clint Eastwood table this past Sat night, Steaks came out cold after I flagged one of the waiters to inquire about our entrees. First visit was great about 3 years ago, but extremely disappointed this time.
Food and Service were both amazing...this was our first visit to Golden Steer Steakhouse and as Las Vegas locals you can count on Our returning 🤗
I have been to Vegas several times and always wanted to stop by for dinner. I got the chance to this time and was glad I did wishing I did the 3 other times I was in town. I will for sure be back and tell everyone to go as well.
We had a wonderful dinner. The seafood appetizer was amazing! I’ve never had shrimp, nor crab legs, as large as these. The porterhouse steak was huge and very tasty.
It was a great flash back to the golden years of Vegas. The bar scene was good, the steak was one of the driest, non-flavorful steaks I've had in years.
Great service and food was excellent
Decided to go to an off-site Steakhouse as the prices at the casinos are getting extreme. Business associate said to try this restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised.
While the Bar are is disappointing with video slots at the bar and no munchies other than you have to buy an appetizer, the restaurant itself was a throw back in time. It was fun.
The service was very attentive and the food very good. Prime steaks and great side dishes and even the basic salad had a wonderful fun dressing.
Despite its location in a strip mall and a bar that is not appealing, I think most will be surprised by how good the food is.
Visited from Minnesota and received recommendation from a friend. Our reservation was for early evening, so restaurant wasn’t busy. Waiters were very knowledgeable and friendly, even taking time to answer questions about the history of the restaurant. We were in Las Vegas to celebrate my birthday and our wedding anniversary, we weren’t disappointed by our choice for where to have our celebration dinner. We would highly recommend it to others , both for the food and the history.
A place with history, everything from the impeccable service to the lost art of making a proper Caesar Salad table-side to the dark leather booths surrounded by dark wood screams tradition. If you want the experience of a old school steak house that cuts no corners hit this gem.
Absolutely love this place, love, service are fantastic....
Anniversary and b day
Amazing food and service!
It was a very nice evening until a large party came in and took over the dining room. I would have preferred to be in the front room where it was much quieter. All in all, great service and a delicious meal. Shrimp were huge, steak prepared as we wanted. Caesar salad - so-so.
The classic old school Las Vegas steakhouse. The Golden Steer has been added to our very short list of regular restaurants we'd visit in Vegas. The food and services was remarkable, as was the interior. If you're tired of all the fluff and fees on the Strip, give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.
The staff was friendly, food was great. Pricey like most steak houses but great for special occasions. Will definitely be back.
This is the oldest steakhouse in Vegas, and I think it hasn't changed much since it opened in 1958. It's very clean, well maintained, and chock full of history. Service is exceptional, as is the food and the wine list. When our Taxi dropped us off, I was a little worried- it appears like a divey little place in a less than wonderful part of town, but the instance we stepped in, that impression changed. If you're interested in eating one of the best steaks you'll ever find and being pampered with 1950s era customer service in a place that was frequented by Frank, Dean, and Betty, book a table.
Everything was ok. Food was ok, service was ok...it was just ok. The veal was ok, mushrooms and sauce all over it. My wife’s Dover sole was ok, they did an ok job deboning it. Daughters steak was ok. It’s really nothing to remember sorry
Magnificent. Like an old time supper club minus the relish tray. Loved the place. Food, service and ambiance were tops.
