Golden Steer Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Absolutely wonderful, traditional Nevada at it's best. A gem hidden in the heart of Las Vegas.
Thank you for being there and preserving the greatness of a real steak house!
the ambiance is incredible and greatly appreciated. What a fantastic break from the fast pace and noise of fabulous downtown Las Vegas. Thank you.
BY far the best steakhouse in Las Vegas. So beautiful and old school inside. Almost (if not every) booth has a celebrity's name on in, as in it was their favourite booth. We sat at Joe Dimaggio's 2nd booth ( He has 2. The other is across from Marilyn Monroe's). The food was sensational. I highly recommend the rib eye, which my boyfriend had. I had the chicken parm, which was equally delicious. It's absolutely worth the trip off strip. The prices were also quite resonable. Cheaper than Ruth's Chris.
Old school Vegas, you can never go wrong. Best table side caesar salad, incredible steaks and fantastic service all while dining in an old school but pristine red, leather banquette. We go every year when we visit Las Vegas, it's the first reservation we make.
There are no words to convey how much we love this place. Everything about it; the atmosphere, the service, the drinks, the history, and without question some of the best steaks we’ve ever had.
We went three nights in a row and had three different cuts of meat. Every single one of Them was incredible.
We have found our new favorite place in Las Vegas, and will be hard-pressed to Find any other place we’ll want to dine
Good food, but terrible service. Reservation for 7:15, arrived at 7:05, seated at 7:50 (no place to sit while waiting). Server gave us a drink menu, but never took a drink order. The place is so dark, the server used a flashlight. Romantic possibly, but very hard to read the menu.
French onion soup....hearty !!!!!
Veal Marsala...sauce delicious
Veal tasty but somewhat dry
Creamy spinach...the best
Chocolate Mousse excellent
Cheesecake...Just right dense and tasty
Coffee hit the spot
We took home most of my entree...large hearty portions...too much to eat though...wish there were smaller dishes to choose from.
Can't honestly say we will return
Very traditional Italian steakhouse that has been around for more than 60 years. Good service by tuxedoed waiters and a fine menu. Crab cocktail and calamari were good and ample appetizer portions. Very large lamb chops and quality veal cooked to order. Bananas Foster prepared at the table over vanilla ice cream is a nice finishing touch. Moscato wine was reasonably price, very good and available by the glass. Two down sides-- they have changed bakeries from their fresh Italian breads to rather starchy, non-descript dinner rolls. Second, they advertised the lamb chops with mint jelly (something that we are avid about) but had ran out the day before. Given the 24 hours that they had to resupply, it wasn't really excusable. Had I known, we would have brought our own from home. Nonetheless, everyone needs to visit this fine establishment at least once in their life.
The food was outstanding. The Escargot was perhaps the est I have ever eaten and the strip steak was top notch as well. Along with the service it was truly an enjoyable evening. Our waiters Scott and Carl were excellent and Scott shared many stories about the restaurant's history.
Inattentive service, für example the waiter has forgotten the bread before the meal or the sugar for the espresso. The steaks were lying in the own meat juice, a sign, that the steaks didn't rest enough after cooking. The restaurant was very very loud.
Golden Steer, never again.
This is a great steak place but the menu has a lot of other options. The last time I was here I had one of the best prime ribs of my life (and I have had plenty). The service is what takes this place to the top. The outside does not look fancy but inside it is quite nice.
