Golden Steer Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Was disappointed, went there through a recommendation, I was told it was the oldest and best steak house in Las Vegas, thought would be great to try. Yes definitely looked old, which I didn’t mind, but the prices were very up to date, very expensive and the steak a little above average. Paid 500 dollars for 4. The most disappointed was that the waiter was so desperate to up sell and kept over filling our glass with the red wine. I was there with my wife and two daughters, they wanted the Chateaubriand, it was 65 dollars per person I asked the waiter if one was big enough for 3 ladies, he said definitely no, so I ordered two and did not order the New York strip I went in for, well when it came it was massive and we could not eat it all, so I was just upset that the waiter was not helpful. One Chateaubriand was definitely enough for my 3 ladies. The quality was just ok, nothing amazing, but well overpriced. I didn’t enjoy my experience and so only left a 30 dollar tip, which I didn’t even get a thank you or a good night and left very disappointed. I don’t recommend and will never go back.
This is one of those "You have to try this before you die" things. It's "high end" to say the least and you can expect to pay around $150-200 per person for a well rounded experience (depending on your wine selection) ... but an experience it truly is. The food, the ambience, the decor, the attentive staff ... everything screams "outstanding" but, like anything of value, you will pay handsomely for this experience. So, of you're planning a trip to Las Vegas and you haven't been to the icon known as "The Golden Steer" do yourself a favor and make this a part of your plan. Knowing in advance what you're going to fork out will lessen the blow, but plan on about $200 per person. You can do it for less but if you plan on this amount you'll be prepared.
Again, not for the "budget minded" but an experience that should ABSOLUTELY be on everyone's bucket list.
Incredible experience! Terrific Food and service in an Old School way!
We were able to converse, there was no need to try and talk over noise. Very cool vibe--old school up to an including tableside service and a menu that harkens back to the early days of Las Vegas. the steaks were top shelf and rivals that of the other newer Las Vegas steakhouses that have sprung up.
Don't be put off by its location in a strip mall. A great time was had by all!!
Amazing food, service and atmosphere. Had to delay our seating due to traffic slowing down our guests and no problem! They accommodated us and served complimentary cheesecake to celebrate my daughter’s move and meeting her boyfriend and introducing them to mine. Food was awesome and cooked perfectly. Will be back!
This iconic restaurant is worth drive off the strip. While not as "chic" as the numerous chef inspired steakhouses that can be found in every hotel in Las Vegas, this experience was a nice change. With throwback ambiance to the days of early Vegas and the Ratpack made it fun and the food was very good solid steakhouse fair.
If you want a true "old school" Las Vegas dining experience this is your place!
Fantastic food, great service that is ALWAYS consistent & has been for decades.
Table side Caesar salad, bananas foster or Cherries Jubilee with the full presentation. Very cool every time I see it.
If you have someone you would like to impress, this is the place.
Try to visit them every time I'm in town.
My fav ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Service and ambiance was great !!! Can’t say the same for the food , $55.00 steak was mediocre and the sides were soupy ( I like my mashed potatoes mashed not soupy) ! Cool little spot with lots of history and beats the hassle of going into big casino ! Although The Steakhouse inside the Circus Cicus is still top of list for best steaks
The Golden Steer is a favorite restaurant of mine. Its a time-capsule. The minute you walk in the door you are transported back to old school Vegas. The wildwest decor and leather booths named after Las Vegas legends. I was tickled to be seated in the Frank Sinatra booth on our latest visit. Enjoyed old school table side service. Ceasar Salad( Voted best Ceasar by me) to start and cherries jubilee to finish. In between i had a ribeye that was great as well . I recommend the Golden Steer to anyone in Vegas looking for a great meal and fun time. Its one of a kind.
Very disappointing anniversary dinner. Although we had 3 waiters, my wine glass was always empty and returning our fatty ribeye was an ordeal. Creamed spinach tasted frozen and prices were high for a steakhouse for tourists. Will never return.
Do not let the strip mall location, outside appearance of the Golden Steer convince you not to consider dining there. This is a classic old school steak house with formal clad servers offering top notch service and ambience. And the food is tremendous, but it may be pricey for some. Go with any of the steaks and seafood on the menu, and treat yourself to the Caesar salads that are prepared at your table side. The best you will ever have. The 'Steer' also has an extensive wine list, and the extremely knowledgable servers can provide excellent advice when you need a proper wine/entree paring.
The food and service are 5 star. The steaks were outstanding. This is one of my favorites in Las Vegas. My only negative is the price tag on the seafood tower appetizer. It is very expensive for not a lot of food. I would suggest to save the money and find a different appetizer. Please do not misunderstand... it was good, just a small portion for the money.
