Golden Steer Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
We had a reservation at 7:15 and arrived an hour early and sat in the bar. At 7:30 I went to the podium and asked about our res and he was surprised because he thought the hostess had already seated us. She had seated the couple that came in after us that was sitting at the bar. How can you seat a couple without asking them their name? Or she's so ditzy she could care less. Unacceptable! That's their fricking job to seat the correct people! They put us in a back room that was absolutely freezing compared to the rest of the restaurant After several people put on their coat and we asked for more heat. they finally warmed it up. They put us at a table with 4 chairs and the ambiance was totally different than the rest of the restaurant. A couple minutes later they sat a couple in a wonderful booth in the restaurant area. Bummer for us. The food was great except the Creme Brulee was weird. The crust was great but the pudding/flan consistency was something I've never had before. Terrible. They took the charge off our bill.
The prime rib and sauteed mushrooms were delicious. HUGE cut of prime!! The caesar salad that's prepared at the table was one of the best we've ever had!! I would return but not on a busy night, i.e. Valentine's Day.
I have not visited in perhaps four years. My favorite server, who had been there for years was gone which took away some of the experience for me. While their overall service was good, our server catered to a larger party next to us and we seemed to be waiting for him at every step.
Ask what the "market price" is for the petit filet and lobster tail before ordering; it was $120.00, and the filet by it'self is $51. $69.00 is WAY too much for that lobster tail! As much as I enjoy their ambiance, this was probably my last visit.
I would highly recommend visiting the Golden Steer when in Las Vegas. It is a true piece of the old Las Vegas with authentic memorabilia and booths where the stars actually sat. The steaks are pricey but excellent. The service was very good. When my first choice of table was unavailable, the restaurant called me to offer a comparable table.
It is a little off of the beaten path and doesn't look like much from the outside but the ambiance is terrific inside. The restaurant called us a cab when leaving and informed us when it had arrived
Golden Steer offers an old school Vegas steakhouse experience without the New World prices. It's not the best steak I've ever had, but at 25%-50% cheaper than the "best" Strip steakhouses the value is there that makes the drive to Sahara worth it to experience the classic steakhouse.
Excellent! 22 oz bone in Ribeye was cooked perfect along with the 18 oz Prime Rib. The Caesar salad was a great beginning and its prepared table side. There's an excellent wine list with a variety of choices by the glass. The atmosphere is old school but classy. I highly recommend it for your Vegas Steakhouse dining adventures.
Was really looking forward to our visit as we had read good things about how great this restaurant was. Ambiance was good. Old school charm. Our waiter(s) were not near as attentive as you would think for being a high end restaurant. Kept the water full but did not check back with us on drinks and if we were doing fine or not. Just brought the food. The food was definitely not up to expectations. Steaks were not tough but not the melt in your mouth as a prime steak should be. Just a so so experience for us.
Fantastic! The food was wonderful, the service was even better and ambiance is unlike anything you will find in the world. It is a special place full of Vegas history. We were able to sit in Dean Martin's booth for our special evening. Tremendous service from the Somm!
Ive been once before and everything was amazing! My sister flew in from west Virginia and I met her from California for a sister weekend. I suggested for golden steer for our Friday night dinner so we could dress up and have a girls night out. Dinner was amazing again. Ali and his helper im sorry forgot his name were great, very suggestive with the menu, and great conversation since my sister and I are very talkative. My next visit will be with my parents. My mom has been wanting to go for 2 years now.
The cesear salad was OK. I had better larger salads at airports fo more than 1/2 the price. Brocholli head was steamed and yellow below the green. Mushrooms were great. Lamb very good and very fatty. My husband enjoyed his fillet. The wait staff was wonderful. The gentleman told us about the history which was why I went there. With that in mind I enjoyed the tour.
What an incredible place! The oldest steakhouse in Vegas and nothing has changed! The steak, Dover sole, escargot, and chocolate cake was incredible. The table side salad was the best ever and the service is five star! My wife and I fell in love with this place and will be back when hit Vegas again in September..
This was our second time back. It was fantastic the first time.
Although we made reservations we had to wait 45 minutes. The bartender dismissed us at first when we tried to order drinks and we waited and waited. . Apparently she had a cut or something on her finger and kept sucking on it every time she squeezed a lemon or lime. GROSS
The food was incredible. We had escargot, lamb and Oscar filet special and some sides. The mushrooms were not cooked and were still hard, but the sauce was great on it.
The service was incredible. Food was cooked perfect.
At the end of dinner they came to run the cards at the table. Kind of weird and not a good practice. It made us feel rushed.
What an amazing place! The history of this restaurant alone is already a perfect excuse to visit this place. Everyone was super nice and the food was amazing. Hearing the stories about this place from the maitre and the waiters was just amazing. And the food... wow! We will be back!
If you are in Vegas and want one of the best streaks in your life this is the place. Ali was awesome and accommodated all 10 in our party. We started with 8 and called to confirm the reservation and we had a last minute addition and they worked to get to other 2 added. The location is off the beaten path of the strip but is a staple of Vegas history. The only downside, no matter how large the party, no splitting the check. Take my advice, if you are planning a trip to Vegas, make sure you eat dinner at the Golden Steer.
