An old school steakhouse. My ribeye was cooked perfect and was delicious. Desert was excellent along with the cocktails and wine. Staff was friendly and service was great.

As usual, good food and service. Enjoyed an excellent Sidecar cocktail, petite filet mignon, cream spinach. The dessert of bananas Foster prepared tableside was just great. A classic restaurant.

Golden Steer was a pleasant step back into old Las Vegas. The decor and memorabilia on the walls told a story of days where things went slow and the elite dined in stile. The multi service staff was efficient and served up class. The food was delicious, comparable to leading strip steak houses. The only down draw was the ambiance set by other diners with their groupons and cargo shorts.

Classic old Vegas steakhouse with loads of history and ambience, but food is as up there with the very best steakhouses on the Strip.

Disappointing, food very average, seemed like frozen chips (not home cooked) also cold, starter Ceaser salad (not served at table as menu says) when asked waiter why we were advised that only happens when more than 1 person orders it. Service was very rushed, felt like in and out! Dress code not adhered to people in caps and shorts. What a shame as we had been recommended by a taxi driver who went 20years ago, definitely gone downhill!

Golden Steer is a treasure! A nice old fashioned steakhouse from back in the day. It really feels like a time machine.... 1958 to be exact! The food is great. Get the Caesar Salad made at table side.... I’ve never had better. Enjoy the Bananas Foster too for dessert.

Our waiter was awesome very professional he recommended dishes to order , desserts, etc. My lady had the filet topped with lobster and crabmeat. I had the bone in ribeye which was suggested by our waiter. He was spot on! The appetizers were amazing as was the cappachino and carrot cake. The waiter explained and showed us the history of Golden Steer, amazing! We travel to Vegas several times a year and have tried many steak houses. This is now our favorite in Vegas! Second favorite is The Steakhouse. Thank you for an amazing night and experience Golden Steer!

This was the second time I was at the Golden Steer and having had a superior experience the first time, I was disappointed in the quality of the food, the wine list, and the service at this encounter. I doubt very much if I will return and even though my husband enjoyed our meal, I found it sadly lacking.

This place was awesome. The steak was amazing. Loved that it is Old Las Vegas and that it still has the old Las Vegas charm. Loved, talking to the server that had been there for 35 years.

The Golden Steer is the best restaurant I have ever eaten at. The steaks are seasoned and cooked to order perfectly. The service is top notch. We went there by chance at 830pm on a Saturday night and were able to sit and enjoy both a delicious meal and great service from Eric in the front bar area. I wasn't hungry enough to take on the ribeye that night, so we went back the next! ... Not kidding, of all the spots in Vegas to eat, we did not think twice of going back. Worth every penny.

This place is cool for history buffs and for those who want a throwback experience of life in Vegas in the 60’s! Cool booths, great service and nostalgia await. I will say however, that it wasn’t what I expected in terms of quality of food and taste for the price. Easily can run up to $70 per person, and I was left feeling slightly ripped off. You’re really paying for the history and the ambiance more than the food. The steaks were ok, the sides were great, but the appetizers were be best part of the meal. Good experience, but it is not a must have, especially if you’re on a budget.

We decided to visit the Golden Steer, based on the food reviews and it being the oldest Steak House in Vegas. It is an easy drive/uber off the strip. The decor is very fitting for the feel. The drinks are a little on the spendy side (even for vegas) but the bartender makes a great and strong drink so worth it. Our server was only okay. He seemed to be a bit out of it like he was on something. Our food was fantastic and the best part of the entire night was chatting with the older fellow that made our salad table side. He has worked at the restaurant for 30yrs and he was very engaging and made the whole experience! I would honestly go back just to see him! I would think that if we had a different server I would have rated this much higher. Worth another shot for sure!

The restaurant, including the food, service and ambiance generally exceeded our expectations. The charm and authentic appearance was exactly what we hoped for. We arrived early to have a drink at the bar because we had heard The Old Fashioned was superb...It was. Getting drinks took a bit of time but we enjoyed the time just the same.
I was expected great food and it was better than expected. From appetizers, main course to desert we were thoroughly pleased. Our server Ali was both cordial and professional. He was great.
I am sure to go back and recommend anyone considering it to go as well.

Excellent. Everything was great. I did not see much value on the wine list. I know may of those labels and we were looking at 20% higher prices than comparable restaurants. I wish Vegas would have more BYOB options. For Golden Steer I would pay $20 corkage fee in a minute instead.

Celebrated our friend’s 40th birthday and I can’t say enough about this place. Old school steakhouse with so much character. We were a table of 10 and they put us in their private dining room. From start to finish it was a perfect experience. Service (Bryant!) food, ambiance A+! Thank you for such an amazing experience. We will be back every trip to Vegas!

Celebrated a birthday dinner and the service was excellent. Like that I am able to tell them early we are celebrating a birthday. They brought out dessert with a sparkler to celebrate. It’s something different and fun! Food was excellent and pricing is average for a Las Vegas steak house. The history of the restaurant makes it fun!

This place is a classic gem. Nothing else like it in Vegas. A holdover from another era that is nearly unchanged from the 50s. Red leather banquettes, waiters in tuxedos and a genuineness you really can't find on the strip. Amazing steaks and classic dishes. It is fantastic.

Always great food, professional service, my Father was in the restaurant business for 50 years and my wife and I agree that male waiters in tuxedos in a fine restaurant always classes things up. When you walk into the Golden Steer you know you are in the golden era of old Las Vegas. The one negative and it's no fault of the ownership is the location. The parking lot is not exactly a place to hang around after you finished dining just get in and go!!!

We attended on this occasion post our wedding renewals with friends. As ever the food service and quality was top notch. Waiters attentive but not pushy. Value great . Steaks phenomenal as always. Don't judge the inside from the outside when you arrive. You can book Frank Sinatra or Elvis booth if you wish as well.

The food was good but not great. Nothing tasted bad. It just didn’t wow me. The ambiance was eh. I was hoping for more of an Old Vegas feel to it. Part of that might be that we were sat near the entrance and it was loud there. There were also a number of families with kids eating there. Granted I’m a father to two youngins so I get you do what you gotta do, it just took away from the “Romantic Night Away” for me and my wife. I don’t think this place is poor by any means. The food is pretty good, just not a “wow factor”. With all the other options in Vegas, I probably wouldn’t go back here.
