Absolutely delicious! Hands down the best steak I’ve ever had.
Birthday . The staff was amazing and food was excellent. Best Cheesecake
Great place with lots of history. It’s not among the best steaks I’ve had yet the sides were terrific.
It was perfect very old school feel.
Great meal and the service was outstanding. We'll be back.
Perfection! The staff is top notch & the food was so tasty & big portions too. The Old Las Vegas ambiance was apparent & didn’t disappoint. This restaurant is a M U S T‼️😊
Always the absolute best!
Food was fair for a porterhouse and wine was not what Duckhorn should have been. Very nice personnel across the board from the bar to the dining room
Great. Always a Vegas must!
Service was impeccable, food was great and the atmosphere was very pleasing! Look forward to returning for more great food at the famous Golden Steer😀
very good old school place and the table side ceasars and flaming table side desserts are awesome. I had the bone in prime rib and was cooked to perfection. Been many times and will continue to do so
The Golden Steer is a classic Vegas gem. It should be on everyone's list to experience the real Vegas.
Absolutely remarkable! I cant wait to go back! Everything was perfect!
The evening was wonderful except for the time someone at one table that had too much to drink was pounding on the table and being very loud.
Had to send steak back because it wasn’t cooked properly. You don’t expect this from a steakhouse that has been in business 60 years.
Celebrated my husbands 60th birthday here with the entire family...everyone loved it...Great food and service !!
Great service! Tasty Rib-Eye Steak!!! Awsome Cherries Jubilee!!
One of my favorite places. This visit though food was not up to par.
Was not impressed with the bread or salad. The steak was nice and tender but lacked seasoning my lobster tail was very over cooked and had to be taken back. A new lobster tail was brought that was cooked perfectly. Twice baked potato was great, asparagus were steamed, nothing special. I wouldn’t return the food was too overpriced for the quality.
The atmosphere was great with the vintage steakhouse decor and the staff very attentive, very pricey but would visit again 😀
As someone from out-of-town, when I was searching for a great steak in LV I naturally used "google". On many reviews I read that the Golden Steer served great steaks. The added allure was notoriety, a place where many of yesterday's Vegas legends used to hang out. While it's off the Strip, parking is ample and the restaurant is quaint. It was how I pictured it in my mind, a little like the restaurant Joe Peach owned in the movie "Casino". Though I did not eat BIG I had the 24oz Prime Rib (bone in) and while it was a little undercooked as per my request, the steak was very tasty and lived up to its promise. The waiter was a little irritating and forgetful, he could have spent more time explaining or selling the menu, especially since I was there to buy and would have easily taken guidance. That being said, the steak was excellent quality and the salad starter was okay. As for ambiance, I had booked early so there was no issues and there was already a good crowd inside but by the time I left I noticed the dining room was full and several people in the bar area were waiting for tables. There is memorabilia everywhere (pictures of famous customers), several awards and even an authencity acknowledgement from the Mayor, validating the importance of the Golden Steer to the history of Las Vegas. Overall if you are looking for a great steak with a nice wine list, ample options with appetizers and limited desserts then the Golden Steer is the place to visit.
PLUS POINTS: take side preparations (Caesar salad, Bananas Foster, Cherries Jubilee), great prices (especially steaks), Prime USDA steaks, easy self parking
MINUSES: dark, pushy waiter, popular unless you book
OUT OF 10: 9/10
Ribeye was absolutely perfect. Caesar salad was the best I have ever tasted. Great atmosphere. Great service. Excellent dinner overall and will be back.
Great “old school “ Lad Vegas restaurant. They still remember what customer service is all about.
When you walk in you are transported to another time. The ambiance was everything. The service was impeccable and the food was absolutely amazing.
We live very near by and love Golden Steer -- we often sit at bar and have appetizers. Always take friends from out of town here as it is a part of the history of Las Vegas.
The food is old school Las Vegas steakhouse.
First time eating here. Food was excellent and the atmosphere was interesting
Had an amazing meal and Scot as our server! I've been coming to Vegas for years but just recently learned about the Golden Steer. It's like stepping back in time to the good ol days of Las Vegas.
Definitely worth it and will be back soon. Oh and Scot took great care of us!
Took my parents there to have dinner since i haven't been there for an year or 2 and wanted to give it an try.. The food was cold and the server didn't acknowledge us or ask us how was the food? it was very disappointing after spending $300+ dollars and not quite satisfying..
Everything was great until the end of service. It was like the pleasantries ended when the check was dropped.
So it left a bad taste. Which is too bad, because I brought a friend there who had never been. I’ve been a few times in the past and always raved about it.
I’ll definitely go back. But it might be a while before I do because I need to wait for that not so nice ending vibe to go away.
Dining at Golden Steer is Old Vegas. Brings back the way Vegas used to be. Fine food, great service, and ambiance.
The entire dining experience is Las Vegas style where customers are treated with the best of service. The food is so delicious.
This restaurant IS VEGAS BABY! Has everything going for it. Highly recommend.
Business celebration nov 24 friends and family
Everything was fine with a single exception. The beef stroganoff was tough.
It’s really overrated, very expensive for bad quality. I had oysters and it was full of grit ! The steaks don’t come with any sides for the price they are priced at not worth it !
Classic venue, great service, and excellent food!
We have been going to steak houses in Las Vegas for 4 years now and this is by far the best! Best filet mingnon I’ve ever had. My husband and dad had the 24 ounce prime rib and it was excellent.
When I made the reservation, I stated we were celebrating my husband’s birthday and then my daughter was gluten free. Confirmed this when they called to confirm reservation and again when we checked in for our reservation. No mention was made of gluten free choices — we had to keep asking — and no acknowledgement of my husband’s birthday. When I mentioned this they offered to bring something after we got the check. In a city with so very many options, I wouldn’t go out of my way again for this restaurant again.
We came the evening of Thanksgiving. The food and service were great! For 3, dinner wine and dessert the cost was $400. Not inexpensive, but for a special occasion we greatly enjoyed our experience.
Friendly waitstaff, great food. Large portions so dont order too much if you are visiting from out of town. We had so many leftovers and no one to give them to.
