Food was great and service excellent
A little pricey, but the 22 once ribeye was perfect. Great history and ambience! Highly recommend!
Always great. Wait staff attentive, polite, and dressed /groomed for excellent experience. Love the cusine
Amazing old school Vegas haunt. A must see if you love old places
Amazing experience! Great food and even better service. This place was on my bucket list of Las Vegas restaurants and I did not leave disappointed.
A truly awesome experience. Really enjoyed seeing where all of the celebrities had their own booth. The bananas foster was fantastic, and the stakes couldn't be beat. Definitely will be dining there again on our next visit to Vegas.
Really enjoyed Golden Steer! Went with some friends for my husband birthday. We fell in love with the ambiance and the amazing customer service. Very friendly staff. We even got our server to tell us a couple of “old time” stories. Can’t forget to mention the amazing “made from scratch” Cesar salad! We talked about it for days! What a great place! Can’t wait to go back!
FOOD WAS OVERPRICED, MY WIFE ALMOST CHOKED TO DEATH ON RAW MEAT THAT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE MEDIUM RARE. CAESAR SALAD MADE AT TABLE WAS OUTSTANDING.
This was the first time visiting Golden Steer and I must say it was well worth every penny. Yes it was on the pricey side however the ambiance, waiter service, and great tasting food with very large portions overshadowed the price of our meals. I feel everyone should dine in such a restaurant at least once a year. There were a few patrons who brought their children to dine however we did not hear any noise from the kids or even other adult conversations for that matter. I'm not sure if it was mandatory to make reservations but I am glad we did because there was no wait to be seated when we arrived and the restaurant filled up rather quickly. With regards to the service, it was certainly a pleasure having Scott and Brian as our waiters. They were unbelievably knowledgeable and professional about the menu and even made some great dish recommendations. Would definitely visit Golden Steer again!
Great atmosphere, delicious food, perfect for a special occasion!
Knowledgeable staff, extensive wine list. Great place for a special occasion.
Steaks were cooked perfectly. It is a bit pricey but as long as you walk in knowing that it's a good deal and experience. Twice baked potato was delicious and my drink was never empty for more than a few seconds.
If you like old fashioned steak-house atmosphere, THIS is the place for you. If you like it hip and young, you might not be so thrilled here. Either way, the steaks were outstanding, as for sides, we had only the mushrooms and they were just OK. Cesar Salat was as good as you can make a Cesar Salat. Wine selection could have been more extensive, but there was still enough variety to choose from. Service was TOP. We’ll go again.....
Our one and only MUST HIT every time we're in Vegas. The quality and value cannot be beat. In a city full of overpriced plates, masquerading as "the best", it's refreshing to receive good value for something worth paying for. Not to mention the ambiance, which can't be beat. Nothing preps me better for a Vegas night out than a quiet dinner in this time machine.
I go to Golden Steer for one reason alone - the ribeye. Best I’ve ever eaten.
We have been going to the Golden Steer for many years. somehow we don't do it with any regularity, don't know why. we have always enjoyed our selves when we are there. this last trip, the noise level seemed higher than usual. But we will be BACK!!!
My favorite restaurant in Vegas hands down. Gorgeous interior, impeccable food and incredible service. The price is high but worth it. The Caesar salad is made by the table, like it used to be. The wine list is brief but broad and the crab is the best I’ve ever had.
Fantastic dinner experience! Excellent service and attention to detail. Highly recommend!
Great steakhouse with old Vegas feel service and food was excellent.
Spouse birthday Sunday June 10
This is my second time at GS and this time the filet was tough. Sides were great but I was disappointed in the steak.
The Golden Steer experience was perfect as always. In fact, we went back the very next night.
The dinner we had was to celebrate an anniversary. We had best meal I have had in years. The wait staff, food, drink. Right down to the amazing banana foster. All 4 of the people at our table agree best dinner. Absolutely amazing.
1st time there & a great time for our anniversary! We’ll be at the Baxter table tomorrow night with friends for their anniversary!
Had such a great experience. Attention by knowledgeable staff was superb. So glad we visited!
Poor seafood starter, with oysters very poor quality, the cost was $45 for the starter but the quality of all of it was poor!! In my opinion it was all frozen and not fresh.
The rest of the meal was also average and with a $60 bottle of wine the total bill was $260, and my partner didn’t order an entree, just two sides which were also very average!!
Overall did not represent value for money or the experience we were hoping for!!
Their prime rib was one of the best me and my husband has ever had. The lobster tail was succulent and sweet; however, a bit overpriced at $75 for an ~8 oz. tail. The table side ceasar salad was good but, slightly oily. I'm not to sure how to describe the crab cakes. They were not fishy but, the texture was kind of doughy. It seemed like they were under cooked but, it was really hard to tell because the lighting in the restaurant was really dim. Overall, I recommend you order as their name implies... beef. Let's not forget dessert, the cheesecake was silky and creamy with a fantastic drizzle of strawberry puree. The service was above my expectations. Our water glasses were always full and there were at least two waiters that were checking on us. Venko was our table side easier and he was fantastic!
We have been here numerous times in the past (as a group of 8) and have always enjoyed the experience. The food has always been terrific. In the past the service has always been stellar. This year was an exception. Food was wonderful. Service....not so much. Our waiter was a weird duck who seemed to disappear whenever we needed him. Zero personality. We'll be back next year hoping for a return to what we had become used to.
Old and dusty so many better options , if you want the history just pop in and have a drink save your money and your stomach.
Great steaks in a vintage Las Vegas atmosphere. Expensive but worth it. Highly recommend it if you love steaks
Wonderful experience all the way around!
Great Rib Eye!!!
Always good service and great food . Perfect for romantic dinner!
Great old style steakhouse for those who wont amazing steaks and old time food as well as some of the greatest old stories of the early days of Vegas....Don't be fooled by the location, go inside!
Highly recomend this restaurant, steak out of this world
A friend of ours recommended The Golden Steer to us - we were happy we took his advice! Very unassuming facade when you drive up (basically is in a strip mall) but when you enter, you are taken back in time to Vegas of the past.
The ambiance is dark, romantic and relatively quiet. We started with the Caesar salad made tableside-it was AMAZING and I have eaten a lot of Caesar salads in my day. We had a wonderful bottle of wine with our steaks that were cooked perfectly and were so tender, a steak knife wasn’t really necessary. Too full for dessert but they looked fantastic. The service was superb and I highly recommend this unique place.
Filet and King crab legs were awesome. Prime rib was a little bland along with au jus. No flavoring. Table side Caesar salad was amazing.
Outstanding evening. The staff was overly attentive from the moment we arrived to the final handshake as we left. The ribeye steak left my husband overly satisfied and willing to return again. I am a light eater and the staff offered no resistance to me placing vegetable side orders while sharing the Caesar-at-the-table with my husband. This 38th Anniversary dinner will be most memorable! Thank you to all!
The staff was friendly and attentive which was nice. They food was outstanding, my porterhouse was cooked to perfection.
Ambiance was great but we left slightly disappointed. The salad with homemade Roquefort was watery and terrible. Meals were good. The mixed drinks were delicious.
