Love the food, The Chef & Staff! i look forward to the monthly wine dinners!
Our food was cold upon serving. Our server took two of the four entrees off of the bill.
We had breakfast on a Sunday before they set up for brunch. It was very quiet perhaps because it was the lull in between the two meal schedules. Eggs Benedict rancheros were wonderful and my friend’s omelette seem to be good too. It was a little too chilly to eat outside, but the view looked very pretty. The prices seemed in line with most hotel dining rooms.
We took our good friends for a special evening as we had sold our house & we’re moving. Gold is a favorite of ours. Arriving is always a treat as it is hidden away off of Ina and cannot be seen from either Ina or Oracle.
Service was wonderful and friendly. The menu is amazing and fresh. Portions are just right. Interesting appetizers, not the run of the mill. I highly recommend GOLD.
Our anniversary, excepted the food to be better for the price paid. It was good, we had better value at other local restaurants. Host was nice and friendly, however our server was lacking. We had to ask her name and she didn't seem like she wanted to be there, friendly and nice often, though.
Reviews said food was exceptional. Questioned this but was delighted to find it was true. Very good foie gras, very light shared salad and outstanding prime rib. Would go again
Valentines Day. Special menu, four courses. Great lobster bisque, LIGHT! With lots of lobster. Scallops terrific, seared perfectly. Service a little too fast. Generous with the included Prosecco. Ingredients first rate, out of chefs garden. Best tasting olive oil for dipping bread I’ve ever had. Plain, fruity, quality.
I would have preferred to order off menu as too much food but very nice over all and beautiful view of city lights.
Special Valentine’s menu - fixed price menu with. Food was very good - especially the onion soup which is on their regular menu. I had scallops and husband had chateaubriand. Only complaint was too much potato but flavor was excellent. Supposed to get chocolate covered strawberries at the end but we weren’t given any - didn’t push it cuz we were so full.
We all have eaten here many times. Our waitress was not very good at all (not Gold standards). She'd be good at a Denny's. They changed their menu. The food was good, but the menu was limited.
At the Westward Look Resort. Wonderful open atmosphere with beams and fireplace and great views of Tucson valley. Booth was comfortable and we could actually have a conversation! Our server was very knowledgeable about the wine list and the preparation of the food. Great "Garden Salad" for two and the rest of the meal was quite wonderful. Certain to return!
Enjoyed a quiet birthday celebration. All aspects of the evening were good especially excited to find that on Sundays wine is 50% off.
We were there for New Years Eve. They had a prefix menu that was excellent! We weren’t rushed and everything was delicious!
Way over priced for buffet! Food was adequate. Never offered a chance to get a drink, etc.
My Birthday which was mention when reservations were made and It wasn’t acknowledged
Wonderful Sunday breakfast menu with a southwest flavor. The view from our window table was awesome, calming vistas of the distant mountains and beautifully landscaped property.
Service was great. The food was outstanding. The view and noise level were perfect.
My wife and I have had their Sunday brunch many times. It is the best Sunday brunch in Tucson for the money--$32.95. Highly recommend it!
Menu is filled with mashed potatoes.
fabulous Sunday brunch with buffet as well as order from the menu items. Great view-perfect brunch
We ordered 2 entres. The salmon was well prepared; the lamb was not tender and was very bland. Service was a bit slow. The dining room needs new decor; it's drab and boring.
Our waitress Megan was awesome. The food was very good. I had the eggplant lasagna which the veggies and spices were perfectly blended. I would definitely order it again. My wife had the ribeye steak. She ordered it med rare and it was perfectly cooked. They had two breads, one was a fresh sourdough garlic and the other a rosemary with whipped herb butter. Mmmmm
The only issue we had with the food was our dessert creme brûlée. It was overcooked and the carmelized top was slightly burnt on one side. They did take it off our bill and offered us something different. But we really were too full anyway.
The rating for the atmosphere/ambience was poor because we had a beautiful table on the patio for an evening dinner. The city lights and the early evening sunset kissed sky was breathtaking BUT throughout our dinner staff cut thru patio area moving carts that made very loud noises on the pebbled floor. Not just once but many times. Apparently they also had a banquet of some kind in one of the ballroom area and took food over on tall wheeled racks. And then brought dirty dishes etc. back. It was awful.
This is not our first visit to Gold. We try to come at least two or three times a year. It is worth the trip from where we live. The food is always prepared properly and the presentation is always top notch. The one thing we did notice is that the wine list has become a little pricy. We know a lot of wines and their retail prices. The markup seems a little out of line for a lot of them. I think there needs to be an adjustment made and a lot more wines need to be presented that don't make me take out a second mortgage to drink them.
The Chef at Gold has continued his winning ways from last year's Sunday brunch. He didn't lose a step and it remains truly excellent and the best brunch for the money in Tucson at $32.95 p/p. We will return.
great service and dinner and very quiet ....great surroundings and views
We went to GOLD for dinner and to celebrate our 51st anniversary. We have been there before and the return visit was every bit as special as the first time. It is a bit pricey for the average every day eating out dinner, but so worth every dollar and every bite for the special times out. The cocktails, wine, and after dinner drinks are delicious. The steaks literally melt in your mouth and are cooked to perfection. Dessert was very different and delicious, as was the perfectly seasoned beef and barley soup starters.
Very clean and comfortable. Friendly and professional service staff that are very knowledgeable about the food and drinks. Will definitely be returning here.
Waitress was very nice and always checked on us to see if everything was ok.
We return because it is one restaurant in Tucson where we don't have to yell to hear each other talk. The food is hit and miss: one visit, the chicken was delicious; this visit, it was scrawny and dry. Friend's lamb was perfect; my salmon was overcooked. Really wish we could love the food.
Normally I would recommend Gold for my husband and I have been there a few times. This last time the food was poorly made and the service was stressed and slow due to people calling out. Very disappointing.
Excellent experience for our wedding anniversary dinner. We recommend Gold highly.
It was a “Thank You “ dinner. Directions were a little sketchy, but we found it. Directions could say that it is located in the Westward Look Resort lobby.
The views were very fantastic and beautiful. You could see the whole Tucson Valley and the city lights.
The service was very good, very friendly and professional, and very attentive. Drinks were filled readily. The bread and butter was delicious. The steaks melt in your mouth and done perfectly, the sides were delicious and perfectly done. The desserts, Bailey’s White chocolate gelato, seasonal cheesecake, and the bread pudding were out of this world delicious. Good wine list and choices as well as the after dinner drinks.
Our server Katie could not have been more attentive and the service ON POINT !! She truly made my parent's 64th wedding anniversary dinner extra special! We will be returning quite often to sample more culinary delights from the new chef.
There were 5 women for lunch. Only two tables of patrons including us.
Service was fair, waitress knew food items and made recommendations
Hadn't been there in several years and was disappointed 😞
Gold is a great place to go to see the city at night and there seems to be a slight breeze outside which keeps you cool. Delightful!
Excellent service, excellent prepared food with attractive presentation. Friendly and attentive servers!
The service was excellent. The food was tasty but 2 of our orders were overcooked and one was undercooked. We have been to GOLD many times and this was the first time we were in any way dissatisfied.
Great restaurant ! Nice view and good menu. There is a variety of menu items that are beautifully presented and taste delicious.
Very disappointing - reviews sounded good. First two wines selected were not available. Bottle waitress brought out while telling us 2nd bottle was unavailable was, despite assurances it was full-bodied...was not. Excuse was sommelier was new & “would probably replace 90% of the wines on the list”. Vegetarian lasagne...had no discernible lasagne noodles..a mix of laters of vegetables and cheese...a lot of tasteless cheese...added the (4) shrimp ($10), but these were served barely above room temp. Wife’s steak was good - a bit overdone...service a bit inattentive. For $133+, should have been better. Outside seating view so praised in reviews actually overlooks the dated pool and has no sunset view. Very very dated decor. Definitely will not return.
Have been there many times over the years and loved it. Had not been for a while so decided to go back. However was very disappointed. We were in the patio and love the view. However the furniture is tired looking. No table cloth. Very average food and service. My wife’s fish was over cooked and dry. My scallops were okay but not great. Was given a filthy glass to us with my beer. Won’t be going back.
Has to be the BEST Sunday brunch that I've experienced in Tucson--and for $29.95!! The Sunday brunch is discontinued during the Summer starting on May 26th but it will resume in either September or October.
Wonderful dining experience. The wait staff is exceptional, pricing is a great value for the food quality and quantity, delicious dry aged steaks. Can't wait to return.
