The Chef at Gold has continued his winning ways from last year's Sunday brunch. He didn't lose a step and it remains truly excellent and the best brunch for the money in Tucson at $32.95 p/p. We will return.
great service and dinner and very quiet ....great surroundings and views
We went to GOLD for dinner and to celebrate our 51st anniversary. We have been there before and the return visit was every bit as special as the first time. It is a bit pricey for the average every day eating out dinner, but so worth every dollar and every bite for the special times out. The cocktails, wine, and after dinner drinks are delicious. The steaks literally melt in your mouth and are cooked to perfection. Dessert was very different and delicious, as was the perfectly seasoned beef and barley soup starters.
Very clean and comfortable. Friendly and professional service staff that are very knowledgeable about the food and drinks. Will definitely be returning here.
Waitress was very nice and always checked on us to see if everything was ok.
We return because it is one restaurant in Tucson where we don't have to yell to hear each other talk. The food is hit and miss: one visit, the chicken was delicious; this visit, it was scrawny and dry. Friend's lamb was perfect; my salmon was overcooked. Really wish we could love the food.
Normally I would recommend Gold for my husband and I have been there a few times. This last time the food was poorly made and the service was stressed and slow due to people calling out. Very disappointing.
Excellent experience for our wedding anniversary dinner. We recommend Gold highly.
It was a “Thank You “ dinner. Directions were a little sketchy, but we found it. Directions could say that it is located in the Westward Look Resort lobby.
The views were very fantastic and beautiful. You could see the whole Tucson Valley and the city lights.
The service was very good, very friendly and professional, and very attentive. Drinks were filled readily. The bread and butter was delicious. The steaks melt in your mouth and done perfectly, the sides were delicious and perfectly done. The desserts, Bailey’s White chocolate gelato, seasonal cheesecake, and the bread pudding were out of this world delicious. Good wine list and choices as well as the after dinner drinks.
Our server Katie could not have been more attentive and the service ON POINT !! She truly made my parent's 64th wedding anniversary dinner extra special! We will be returning quite often to sample more culinary delights from the new chef.
There were 5 women for lunch. Only two tables of patrons including us.
Service was fair, waitress knew food items and made recommendations
Hadn't been there in several years and was disappointed 😞
Gold is a great place to go to see the city at night and there seems to be a slight breeze outside which keeps you cool. Delightful!
Excellent service, excellent prepared food with attractive presentation. Friendly and attentive servers!
The service was excellent. The food was tasty but 2 of our orders were overcooked and one was undercooked. We have been to GOLD many times and this was the first time we were in any way dissatisfied.
Great restaurant ! Nice view and good menu. There is a variety of menu items that are beautifully presented and taste delicious.
Very disappointing - reviews sounded good. First two wines selected were not available. Bottle waitress brought out while telling us 2nd bottle was unavailable was, despite assurances it was full-bodied...was not. Excuse was sommelier was new & “would probably replace 90% of the wines on the list”. Vegetarian lasagne...had no discernible lasagne noodles..a mix of laters of vegetables and cheese...a lot of tasteless cheese...added the (4) shrimp ($10), but these were served barely above room temp. Wife’s steak was good - a bit overdone...service a bit inattentive. For $133+, should have been better. Outside seating view so praised in reviews actually overlooks the dated pool and has no sunset view. Very very dated decor. Definitely will not return.
Have been there many times over the years and loved it. Had not been for a while so decided to go back. However was very disappointed. We were in the patio and love the view. However the furniture is tired looking. No table cloth. Very average food and service. My wife’s fish was over cooked and dry. My scallops were okay but not great. Was given a filthy glass to us with my beer. Won’t be going back.
Has to be the BEST Sunday brunch that I've experienced in Tucson--and for $29.95!! The Sunday brunch is discontinued during the Summer starting on May 26th but it will resume in either September or October.
Wonderful dining experience. The wait staff is exceptional, pricing is a great value for the food quality and quantity, delicious dry aged steaks. Can't wait to return.
We keep trying it because we like the atmosphere. But, the service is always so slow. Not enough help. The waitress was nice enough but never came back to see how our food was which took 45 minutes to get! My ribeye was horrible. Actually I wouldn’t even call it a ribeye. Very chewy and hard to cut. We were there for almost 2 hours. One salad and 4 entree’s.
We ordered wine and they were out of the first two we wanted. Ended up having an okay bottle other than that, it was a great evening. The views from our outside table was phenomenal! Great place!
Cream brulé was not very good. Shrimp on celery salad was wonderful. Our server Robert was excellent.
Another wonderful evening at Gold, our dinner was fantastic and the service attentive but not too much. It has become our go-to spot for a fantastic dinner.
Excellent choice for very good food, service and pleasant evening!
Food was ok but overpriced. Service was very slow but probably due to having only one wait person for entire room. Food seemed to be coming from across the street or somewhere off premise. Reservation at 6 and food arrived at table at around 7:30. Not the restaurant I expected or remembered from several years back. Probably won’t be back any time soon.
Good food and decent service. Only one server was on and she had to handle all the tables. She did well. The hostess pitched in and that was helpful. It is a great setting especially if you want to dine in a nice room where the noise level is low.
Brunch is an unbelievable disappointment.
Great food and service.
One of the best meals we have had on our trip through Arizona.
Food was wonderful and had many choices for brunch. Coffee was very good as well as the champagne cocktail. Service was excellent and we would definitely recommend the Gold room for everyone who would like a hearty Sunday brunch.
Visited Gold on Valentines Day. Had asked prior for a window table, and was obliged with a fine table. We picked the prix fixe menu, and all parts of this were superb. Fabulous Chateaubriand, close to the best ever. Two aspects were a bit disappointing. The waitress was competent and almost attentive, but not overly friendly. And the ambiance was distinctly "snowbird resort faux classy". Given the stunning views, perhaps the interior decor could be brought up to match? Oh, and put out some signs so non-resort folks could find the place without the random-walk.
Fantastic experience. We have eaten there before a few times and always enjoyed it. But last night was extra special with the fantastic view and excellent food and drink. My wife and I will probably go there for our anniversary in March. Thanks for a wonderful time.
Lots of snowbirds in town so wait staff was overburdened. Asked for, but did not get salmon fully cooked. They provided one free dessert for this miss.
We dined at GOLD on New Year's Eve. They had a special menu. We picked from a choice of appetizers, entrees, and desserts. It was wonderful! Highly recommend it for a special night out. Loved the view of Tucson at night through the dining room windows.
Poor service. Placed is by back door on a cold night with opening and closing repeatedly. Long wait for food, bill, etc. poor planning of staff levels for a busy night. We hesitate to return although the view is grand and food okay.
We were there, in Tucson, to celebrate our anniversary with friends.
The waitress was polite but clueless. Initially, we were one of two tables in the dining room, and I had to go find the ur waitress after waiting ten minutes to order drinks.
We spent over $400 and aren’t going back. Very sad as we live ten minutes awy
Our family had a wonderful Christmas dinner at Gold! Thank you for that family Christmas memory!
Disappointing!! Although we had wanted an earlier reservation, OPENTABLE advised 5:15 was the closest time available. Arrived at 5:15 Christmas night to find GOLD ROOM virtually empty and it did not fill up the entire 1.75 hours we were there. Told "yes, we have Moscato" when asked for drink order, but in fact they did not; must reorder, and rearrange thoughts about wine with meal.
Dinner an hour arriving.
Salmon very good though slightly salty.
Companion ordered "special" prime rib and it was awful. Grey, NOT medium rare as ordered, and tough. As another patron was leaving and passed our table, she inquired into the prime rib quality and remarked "it looks like it is ledt over from the buffet earlier. Good guess but bad meal. My friend is not a complainer as I would have been, but she ate very little of the meat while declaring potatoes and vegetable very good. For $43 her"special"included salad -- the same size as my $9 ala carte but hers on a larger plate -- and desert. As she is diabetic, she gave me the several-layer chocolate cake with fudge frosting. It was better after it had sat a bit, as it began so cold I'm certain it had very recently been frozen, and perhaps had also come from a box.
Before we were both widowed, my friend and I had often enjoyed meals here with our husbands, but rather than bring back fond memories of past times here, this Christmas dinner convinced us both that the GOLD ROOM is now only a part if our pasts.
Beautiful restaurant, but we were disappointed that they only had a limited menu. Asked for a city view table but didn't get it. We will find somewhere else for our Christmas Eve dinner.
The glass is half full with this place. We had an ok dinner, but there are better places to go. The Arizona Inn or the Ritz at Dove Mountain are 2 of our favorites.
Always an excellent place to dine, and very comfortable.
