Goin' Coastal - Canton Ratings and Reviews
Great waitress, she was a big help with the menu. Stopped by often to check on us but not TOO often. Lol! Was disappointed the mussles with curry were not on the menu-but they were on the website menu. I tried the mussles anyway-they were ok but there sure were A TON of them!! Enough for a meal!! The lobster bisque was AWESOME!! Those 2 things were very filling! Lobster MAC and shrimp dinner was fantastic!! I’ll be back!
As walkways Goin’ Coastal was great. They always have the freshest seafood you will find in north Georgia. They were out of the bottle of wine I ordered so they upgraded me to a more expensive bottle at no additional cost. Always a classy move. They were really busy but the wait staff did a good job taking care of tables. My only complaint and it’s been the same one every time I go is that they always seat parties of 2 in the these little acward tables in the windows out front. I always feel like I’m on display.
My wife and I made reservations thru Open Table for 6:30. We arrived promptly and were shown to a high top table. At this time, there were about half a dozen booths and regular tables available.
We asked the hostesses if it would be possible to get a regular table instead and we were told that it would be an additional hour wait. While my wife and I were discussing our options (and seriously considering leaving), the staff reluctantly agreed that accommodations could be made, all the while acting quite put off by the request. It seemed ironic that during our whole time there, there were at least 3-4 tables available, so we were wondering what the fuss was about.
Our food was good and server exceptional. We may consider going back, but some serious issues need to be addressed with regards to customer service at the hostess station.
We had a 7:15 reservation and were a few minutes early. Allowed to get a drink from the bar while we waited and we were seated at almost exactly 7:15. Service was friendly quick and knowledgeable. Seafood was good which always amazes me this far inland. Nice draft beer selection as well.
Goin coastal is a fun place to everyday dining or meeting with friends. Chefs are wonderful and food is prepared very constant and professional. We generally always sit at the bar and we enjoy the conversation. Bar is fun. Go and see for yourself this fun tasty restaurant.
Worth the 45 min. drive each way for gourmet food, friendly service and a staff that describes dishes to a tee. We love the lobster special on Mondays as well Oysters on the half shell on Wednesday. There is a great variety of fish and appetizers to please all...leave room for dessert or take some home. You won't be disappointed. Thank you Larry; you always make it a lovely experience.
Main Server was great... kid with long hair brought a couple of courses & just plopped them down in front of whoever And that kind of service ruined the overall experience,,, he did it 3 different times not caring who he dumped food in front of,,,food & main server were great,,, we spent almost $ 400
This was our first time visiting Goin' Coastal and I can tell you without a doubt, we will be back! The service was fantastic, the food quality was very, very good and it was a very good value for the price. I compare Goin' Coastal to any of the more expensive restaurants in Atlanta and they are far superior to most!
We had a lovely evening with great food, service and ambiance. Monday lobster special or Wed. oyster special and friendly staff makes our visits enticing....yes we travel almost 20 miles each way to eat there and it is well worth the trip to eat there.....Give them a try. I'm sure you will enjoy it.
We sat at the kitchen bar as GC was changing their menu for fall and Winter seasons. Disappointed to learn that the Naan was not just brought in for the veggie pizza, but in cellophane and reheated. Next time, back to a regular seat and to our favorite staffer, Amber.
I have been to this restaurant several times over the last year for lunch and dinner. Each time, the food, including appetizers, was well prepared, presented, and delicious. Service was consistently excellent and the prices very reasonable for the quality of food and service.
