Goin' Coastal - Canton Ratings and Reviews
This was our first time visiting Goin' Coastal and I can tell you without a doubt, we will be back! The service was fantastic, the food quality was very, very good and it was a very good value for the price. I compare Goin' Coastal to any of the more expensive restaurants in Atlanta and they are far superior to most!
We had a lovely evening with great food, service and ambiance. Monday lobster special or Wed. oyster special and friendly staff makes our visits enticing....yes we travel almost 20 miles each way to eat there and it is well worth the trip to eat there.....Give them a try. I'm sure you will enjoy it.
We sat at the kitchen bar as GC was changing their menu for fall and Winter seasons. Disappointed to learn that the Naan was not just brought in for the veggie pizza, but in cellophane and reheated. Next time, back to a regular seat and to our favorite staffer, Amber.
I have been to this restaurant several times over the last year for lunch and dinner. Each time, the food, including appetizers, was well prepared, presented, and delicious. Service was consistently excellent and the prices very reasonable for the quality of food and service.
This was my second time eating at Goin’ Costal and I’m not sure how they did it but it was better the second time. Delicious food, great service, and wonderful atmosphere! Several neighbors have recommended this restaurant to me and I have recommended it many times since I ate there!
This dining experience was exceptional. We attributed it to our server whose name I wish I could recall, the well prepared food, seating away from the bar where we could talk without a lot of noise and generous portions. The salmon and broiled root vegatables was the perfect dish for a Fall evening and the salad was fresh and filled with delicious extras. My husband's dinner was also very good he ordered the mussels cooked in a well prepared light sauce. We have been fans since the opening of Goin' Coastal and this last visit was a big improvement from the previous two.
So pleased to see the positive changes. Our love for GC has been renewed. Note, we always appreciate the reasonable substitutions. I would love to see a gluten, dairy free entree and at least one dessert such as the chocolate torte previously listed on the menu.
Have eaten at Goin Coastal on more than one occasion and never had a bad experience. Within the past year, we stopped going to our go to Anniversary spot and went here to mix it up. We were shocked to be presented with a card wishing us a Happy Anniversary and signed by many employees and had same experience when we came here again after our wedding.....another card and on this occasion for a Birthday....another card. We had been going to another well known, quite pricey restaurant for years for our Anniversary....never got this type of experience as we have gotten at Goin Coastal. It's the little things that can make a difference....and having GREAT food helps a lot too......LOVE LOVE their peel and eat shrimp....yum yum
Amazing meal and incredible service. This is a gem in downtown Canton! So nice to drive 10 minutes to eat better fare than driving to downtown Atlanta. Shrimp and grits here will make you cry they are so good, and the hush puppies are a little taste of heaven.
This place is always good but they often run out of their advertised specials. If you are going for one of their specials check when you go in. If they are out there are a couple of other places within a short distance. We check now and if they are out we just leave and go somewhere else
We love the seafood at Goin' Coastal, but they need to sharpen their people skills. Not the wait staff, they are excellent. However, this is the second time we've made reservations well in advance that we have had problems. This time - just hours before we were to be there - we were called and told a large group was coming in and could we possibly come in at another time. With a child in our party we couldn't go late and earlier was not good for us since one had another engagement. We were told they would "try" to find a place for us. We were put in the same room with the large party and it was super noisy.
We have eaten at Goin' Coastal a number of times - with friends, family, or just the two of us. We have never been disappointed. Each and every course has been from very good to excellent. Our companions have agreed.
This trip was for our 55th wedding anniversary, so we treated ourselves without regard to price.
The grouper was done perfectly - very tasty without being lost under the fine sauce and accompaniments; great gravlax and oyster appetizers, double yummy peanut butter pie!
