The bbq chicken is incredible. The service is not the best, because the waiters need to attend both customers eating at the restaurant, and take out delivery orders. Starters really good, try the Assorty Kimchi Set; it’s spicy and you’ll love it.
Service was very poor today we had to keep requesting things. They didn’t clear our finished dishes we had to keep putting them on the next table. The bbq meats were dumped on the grill at the same time we asked for the chicken and beef to be cooked separately. They didn’t bring the sauces. The quality of the cooking was just very poor. We used to love Gogi but the quality of food and the service has sadly gone downhill for some reason.
Delicious food! A must visit, especially if you haven’t tried Korean bbq before.
Only one very bad point. One of the sauter was not able to tank english. When I assied for checking out, I had to do it 3 Times before somebody reacted
We found our new cosy and very tasty place next to home!
Had a day off from work to do some Christmas shopping in London which is a 4 hour round trip from my home, decided to go to this restaurant on route over a competitor as reviews seemed to be better... big mistake, had a call from the restaurant 5 minutes before our arrival to say they would only be open for an hour after our arrival, when we arrived we were the only customers, the restaurant was shabby and need of a renovation. 15 minutes into our 1 hour allocation I was asked if we wanted any more drinks as they were closing the bar! Food was average to say the least. Felt very uncomfortable. Would not recommend to anyone I know. We were there less than 30 minutes and cost me over £50 for lunch!
Food was excellent and the service was great
A very nice neighborhood restaurant. The food was nicely presented. We particularly enjoyed the kimchi and fried tofu.
Great food, but ended up being a lot of waiting for ordering and then for paying. Great service.
Has already recommended and brought a few friends there! always good and nice!
only issue is finding the place! But, it's worth it.
Too much noisy. Food expensive Staff not smilly Not possible to order dessert or coffee after the dîner because thé staff whant to close early thé restaurant
We booked by open table but thé don t want to accept my open table gift chèque.
The BBQ spicy meat plate all tasted the same after cooking. I would order the normal meat next time. Service was from a new staff who was unsure about whether to cook the meat for us as was the custom and what was happening at the other tablez. She did not ask us if we wanted to cook it ourselves or have her do it. This left us to second guess and in the end, we decided to do it ourselves as she placed one slice of meat on the grill and walked away! The restaurant for a Thursday was fairly full and had a big table drinking shots and making a lot of noise so ambience was not great and restaurant music was also way too loud!
I prefer their sister restaurant Maguro which is Japanese.
Excellent service, calming atmosphere, very good food and at lunch the menus are very good value.
Excellent food. Good service. Very nice experience. Slightly upmarket.
Not flexible enough on menu amendments I.e an additional fried egg on a dish I was happy to pay extra for
Amazing taste and great service! The KFC is incredible
Lovely food but service a little amateur. Didn’t spoil our enjoyment though
Impecable service as usual at Gogi, the food was incredible, I am yet to find a better value Korean BBQ in London than here. The service was quick and friendly, and the cooking was very good! The buzz at the restaurant was just right, so the atmosphere was great. This is fast becoming my favourite place to eat in London.
They have 1.5 hr dinning policy which we were told when we came in. We ordered BBQ but no BBQ dishes on the table for half an hr. And we were the 1st group came in the shop but served last. And no one seems cared about us. Did not even bother to change or clean the grill, but other table got the services. Don’t know why. And the girl lead us in were rude and some how mad about us. Food is great. But they way this girl choose her table or clients to serve made us really uncomfortable tho. Other staff were trying to be helpful.
Good food and friendly staff in a cosy environment
Went there with a friend and loved it all. The food was still great and the ambience was perfect. Will definitely be going back there again.
Bad Customer Service. Not worth it.
Bottom line up front: There are so many other Korean BBQs in London don’t make the mistake we did. Food is good (not mind blowing) but good so that’s not the issue. The service on the other hand? Not worth going to this restaurant with bad customer service when you’re going to be spending at least $200 USD for drinks and BBQ for three. Pick another place in SoHo or Covent Garden. Guarantee the restaurants of that caliber won’t kick you out while you are in the middle of having your meal like this place did. I tried to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt and wanted to like it but the rudeness of not just not one but 2-3 of their staff is something I’ve never experienced before. Read the other reviews and you’ll see it’s not the first time people have encountered this type of bad service at Gogi. Advice to Gogi? Train your employees in customer service and tact and don’t accept reservations after 1:30pm if you’re going to be forcing your patrons and paying guests out less than an hour after their reservation began. Won’t ever be going back.
Good food & variety.
Many vegetarian options.
Service was little slow.
Place was packed & noisy. A good ambience.
Good food, friendly service and an attractive venue.
I enjoyed the food, but honestly the service was so poor that it really affected our overall enjoyment of the meal. The waiting staff were not very attentive at all, we were served the wrong platter of meat, had to repeatedly ask for the grill to be cleaned or replaced, were never offered drinks after we finished our first, and basically we were constantly having to try and get someones attention, and remind them of things we had already asked for. I won't be going back and wouldn't be recommending it to anyone either.
excellent food, great value, staff very profesional and kind...
Nice food and atmosphere
Great service, menu is fairly priced and with a member of staff cooking for you all you gotta do is enjoy the presence and food
Great food and experience of a Korean barbecue. Lovely area nearby for drinks after too!
Authentic Korean food. Been there about 10 times and never disappoints. Service needs refining but this is just a minor thing. Very enjoyable experience . We have taken friends and everyone has always had a great experience.
The food was more than good.
Service was timely and not disturbing.Would come again.
Really good food and great atmosphere, I think service charge should be removed when we cook our own food
The food was really great and my wife ans I thoroughly enjoyed our first experience at a Korean Restaurant.
Went for traditional Korean BBQ, food was very tasty and service was great if you like the BBQ cooked for you in front of you. Peraonally would've preferred if they'd give the option of allowing you to cook yourself (guess partly my fault as I could've asked) as the meal seemed kind of rushed.
Food prices were good value but drinks were really expensive (even for non-alcoholic drinks) for tiny portions.
Very pleasant restaurant with good Korean food!
We have been a few times and never disappointed. Good food and popular.
Really nice experience in a atmosphere. Will definitely come back
The spicy meat platter was to die for! Also the spicy squid starter. I’m general food was good and I would go again but not in any rush to go back. Service was average at the start but then got better as our waitress began to talk to us. Overall it was a fun experience and food was good so I would recommend!
Great food, lovely and friendly staff, service is relatively quick. Everything seems fresh and as a bonus point for not smelling like barbecue afterwards!
We booked a birthday meal at Gogi largely on the basis of its high OpenTable rating — and definitely were not disappointed.
We started with a seafood pancake, fried chicken and some mixed pickles, which are not only classics, but provide great benchmarks for comparison with other eateries. They were all winners. The chicken was deliciously crisp on the outside, flavoursome and succulent on the inside. The pancake was just the right mixture of soft and crisp, but with a bigger hit of seafood than is often the case. Pickles provided contrast and crunch, without excess acidity.
For mains we focused on the barbecued meats — cooked on a burner in the centre of the table. The rib-eye was delicious, and cooked exactly as ordered, and the pork belly was so good we ordered seconds. We managed to find room for a seafood bibimbap, which was delicious, though too moist to create the usual crust — or perhaps we stirred too soon.
Puddings included Western and Korean options, but we were done.
Overall, we were very impressed. The food was excellent, and side, particularly were much better value than some of the Korean barbecue restaurants in central London. As Arnie said, we'll be back.
