Food and service was good but they were really backed up in the kitchen. We had a 6:30 PM reservation and did not leave close to 8:15PM. A little too much when you have young children.
Reasonable wine list, and great hot bread and bean spread. We each just had soup and the salad with salmon, both were good especially the salad. Service was quick and attentive.
We had a big lunch so only had wine, soup and salad. We were served hot rolls with butter and a spread, all were delicious. Our waiter was great, it was really busy but he went from table to table making sure all was well. Looking forward to going back.
Family get together for Sunday lunch
Excellent service and great regular menu, limited sushi selections but delicious!
Our server, Alison, was very friendly, helpful and attentive. Appetizer & entree were beautifully presented and delicious. Tuna seared perfectly!
We made a last minute reservation, and the whole experience was wonderful. Great food, attentive service and nice casual, unrushed atmosphere. Highly recommend the calimari and the caramel cookie dessert was absolutely amazing!
Great resturant in Mystic. The food was delicious, service was attentive, and the atmosphere was pleasant. Would definitely recommend.
This was our first visit. Food was good/excellent, service was a bit slow. For example, our waitress went to another table several times but never looked over at our table, and we were finished with our meal at that point.
Service was great and prices are reasonable. Our table was in the corner of the sushi area and although it was private, it was dark. The room needed another ceiling light in the corner. Our family had a great time!
The spicy tuna tacos were amazing! Loved the menu, food and service. Wish I lived closer, I'd be a regular.
We had reserved our seat for 4 online and for some reason it did not go through. However, it did not delay us from getting a seat for our scheduled time. The hosts talked with the manager and she made arrangements to find us a table. A smaller table than the others but we managed and not once complaiined. The food was excellent, my kids even ate all their food and that is rare. Thank you for making our meal time special.
Traveling along 95 North with an hour left til home. This Sunday dinner was the perfect break. Our early dinner time found the restaurant comfortably busy but not crowded or noisy.
I've been here with my girlfriend several times, each always being better than the previous. The food is always great as well as the drink specials.
Great good. Great service. Ladies room ran out of TP, but otherwise great.
I ordered a tuna entree, and in my opinion would have been beat over white rice instead of yellow rice. Besides that it was great.
Food was very good as was the service. We were not aware of the Senior Sunday deal where seniors get 25% off, that was an added bonus.
Midweek dining with family. We ordered calimari and sushi appetizers which were delicious. The large portion fried calamari plates were perfectly prepared. However we were very disappointed with the Yellowfin Tuna entrees. Two of us ordered the tuna rare and the fish was not only tasteless, it was waaay overcooked - not even pink in the middle. I have ordered tuna at this restaurant several times in the past (pre renovation) and it was always perfectly seasoned and cooked. There was no evidence of grilling or searing and no seasoning. Even our server commented that it was not what we ordered. All the entrees were served on a bed of saffron rice, the rice with the tuna entrees also had some sauteed spinach, also over cooked.
We will probably dine at Go Fish again, but I won't order the $28 Tuna entree.
The newly renovated and downsized dining room is nice but our table was located near the entry door and the constant door slamming was annoying. The bang was so loud that it rattled the windows. Apparently nobody on staff knows how to adjust a door closer.
Great atmosphere. Very professional, courteous and friendly waitstaff. Prompt service. Food was outstanding, as usual. No reservations about recommending Go Fish for any occasion.
The service staff were smart, friendly, and attentive. With staff, food and environment all at a high level, we had a very good experience.
First off, the food was amazing. I had Surf and Turf which was prepared just right. My wife had the duck (yep!) special which she shared with me. It was the best duck either of us had ever had. Now for the Service: We had to go find a hostess when we arrived. With three hostesses on duty and maybe fifty patrons in the whole place, you’d think that would be easy.... We were then seated in a large room with only one other set of diners. Weird and kind of lonely. We then waited almost twenty minutes to be able to order drinks and then that happened only because I went and found someone. Then they walk up and ask if we know what we’re ordering. Ahm, can we have a drink and an appetizer first? After that things went fairly routinely but we noticed that at no point did the other servers ever even glance our way to see if we needed anything during the long intervals our server was away. Again, the staff to patron ratio was about 1:1. The hostesses don’t seem to quarterback anything, and unless you’re lucky enough to get your servers attention you’re on your own. The floor staff seems to lack leadership and organization surprising with three hostesses working. Get it together Go Fish servers! Go Fish kitchen staff, you ROCK!!!
Great place to go prior to our event at Foxwoods. Great service and selection.
The new space for Go Fish is outstanding - lots of windows, more intimate sight lines, and quieter. But the menu is still outstanding - modern takes on traditional New England seafood.
Fresh seafood. Good service.
We were tourists and looking for a good seafood restaurant and this was recommended. We were not disappointed!
Oysters were some of the freshest I have ever had. Service was great. Place was really quiet on a Wednesday night
I was looking for a restaurant in Mystic for my wife's birthday and reserved a table at Go Fish. It was a wonderful place. The staff was very friendly. The bar service was excellent. The pricing was reasonable. The food was stellar (though, the lobster bisque seemed to lack any lobster, but I digress). And, the waiter brought out a special desert for my wife for her birthday. Overall, it was a great experience and we will definitely be back.
We were in the Mystic CT area on the weekend after Thanksgiving and decided to have dinner at Go Fish. This was our first time eating dinner there, though my husband had had lunch there several times before. We were pleasantly surprised by the warmth and cozy, yet casual ambiance of this restaurant. We ordered some local oysters as an appetizer and they were exceptional! Salty, juicy and fresh from the ocean! Then shared a poached pear salad, which was also very fresh and delicious. My husband had the ahi tuna with butternut squash risotto. He said it was outstanding. I chose the lobster ravioli. At first, I was puzzled why this dish cost so much...even more than my husband's tuna...then I saw on my plate that not only was the ravioli stuffed with lobster, there were also generous chunks of lobster meat all over the top of my dish, mixed in with the sautéed spinach and tomatoes! Divine doesn't begin to describe this dish. We ended our meal by sharing the apple crisp with vanilla ice cream....warm out of the oven and just plain yummy. Our waitress, Michelle, was pleasant and very attentive. My husband's mixed drink and the house chardonnay I chose were perfect, too. All in all, a most memorable meal, and we'll certainly return there when we're back in the area.
We were heading into Mystic rather late and chose this because it had an opening and a sushi bar. The sushi was excellent and the clam chowder out of this world! This will now be a regular stop on our journey.
I hadn't been to Go Fish in years and my wife and I decided to try it again. The service was prompt and friendly, without being cloying. The food selection wasn't very adventuresome, but it was fine. Our entrees (cod and seafood pasta) were as anticipated. No complaints. I'll return and try Happy Hour and more entree selections.
It was Mystic restaurant week so we sampled the prix fixe menu. Absolutely delicious choices and a great value too! Wine and draft beer selection was also very good.
I brought my 2 oldest granddaughters (ages 12 & 14) there for a nice dinner. The service on this occasion was excellent. Food brought quickly, but we did not feel rushed. Menu is varied and changing so everyone can find something they enjoy.
Sushi is the best and everything on the menu is good
Something for everyone
Expertly prepared fish, fantastic burger, awesome ramen soup, great service.
Go Fish was a wonderful restaurant with a great variety of foods in their menu. The meal was beautifully presented, and service was quick and friendly. Highly recommended!
It had been a couple of years since my last dining at Go Fish. Since then it has been very nicely redecorated and includes outdoor dining on the porch. Since it was a nice, warm afternoon, my friend and I opted to have lunch on the porch. Service, menu, and food were all very good, BUT we were constantly bothered by buzzing yellow jackets attracted to our meals. Will gladly return, but not eat outside unless they screen in that area.
Newly renovated so everything was clean and fresh, hard to tell about noise level as it was not a busy night but our request for quiet corner seating was accommodated. Service was excellent, food was decent but overpriced. 30 dollars is too much for 4 scallops, rice and broccoli.
Drawback to the ambiance was the large painting of a weird male mermaid! Minor detail, but sort of disconcerting, or a point of conversation....
Great food, fantastic service, wonderful atmosphere!
Remodeling was very successful. A very good and always reliable but cavernous and noisy restaurant became a far nicer place to dine. Well done!
