We waited an hour before we got our appetizer. No one seemed in charge. Food was very good, but wait was not. Not sure what’s going on. No sense of apologies. I guess when the owner isn’t running the house, things go wrong:/
We've been here twice so far and the homemade pastas are delicious. When we went with a large group (10 adults), the food was a bit slow coming out, but they were very kind and conscience about it and sent some complimentary appetizers. Overall, it was a great place to dine, perfect for a weekday night out.
Celebrated Mother’s Day a few days early with my mom. Even though it was a bit noisy due to two large groups, the service and food was unbelievably gracious and delicious. We will back again soon!
Love this place! Came back six days later for another family celebration!
Well I was really excited to go here because my friend loves gnocchi.Whenbwe got there there was a bit of heat wave in Philly and the air wasn’t on yet and the door was open.I thought being under the ceiling fan might help so we moved but the setting sun was blinding for about 20 minutes til the sun set behind a building (maybe put up a shade since this must happen every day right?).
We ordered grilled octopus appetizer that was great , one of the best I ever had !! The flounder francaise was really good as well but the gnocchi was so disappointing!! Very chewy and bland and the Brussel sprouts were skunky smelling and overcoooked. Not a good spring vegetable really more autumnal?
The wait staff was very good and attentive so overall experience was good. There were 2 large parties so the decibel level went way up when they were seated .
Awesome. Celebrated sons communion with a party of 13 - everyone was exceptional. Staff was kind and let us relax and made everyone feel welcomed. Food was outstanding
Everything was fabulous!
Cute neighborhood restaurant with delicious homemade pastas. Service was warm and friendly.
One of our favorites! The food and service never disappoint
Service and food EXCEPTIONAL!!
This has to be the best BYOB in the City. The staff is wonderful, the food is delicious and the chef/owner is beyond hospitable. We have been here several times, and each time is better than the last, which is nearly impossible ! Can't wait until our next date night here!
I have been to Gnocchi twice now and have loved it both times. It’s a beautiful little find snuggled into Passyunk and South St., and a perfect restaurant for a date night after some fun shopping or walking the city. The food is wonderful, the authentic Italian cuisine is not only wonderful but brings delight into every bite! The menu might seem small at first glance, but you realize as soon as the waitress starts listing the nights specials that the chef was saving the best meals for surprise. 10/10 would recommend and I am definitely making this a must go for all of my friends.
We had such a great time at Gnocchi for my husbands' 49th birthday
the chef, Miso, not only created delicious entrees, but also made us
feel welcome and like family - service is right on - even with a table of
8- everyone was attended too - Our server was friendly and helpful -
Food is delicious and authentic - I felt like I was in ROME !
This was a great place!! Dinner was plentiful and delicious. The Gnocchi's were outstanding. The waitress was pleasant and helpful. We will put this on the top of our list.
The best birthday dinner celebration! The food kept coming, with special additions for vegetarian diets! We all enjoyed the special pasta Gnocchi in blush sauce. Marinated artichokes and mushrooms. Three types of salad including caprese w tomato and burratta. That was just appetizers. Gnocchi is a wonderful restaurant. The servers make you feel welcome and relaxed and are very professional. I highly recommend Gnocchi
Girlfriend and I had a wonderful dinner. Service was good, but be prepared for a lengthy dinner. Food was excellent. Girlfriend said it was best Gnocchi she’s ever had. Lamb Ragu was good as well!
the four of us all thought this was the best gnocchi we've ever had. maybe because the one we tried was made with semolina and didn't have that potato feel. bolognese sauce for it was terrific; likewise, two of us had great veal parm. server was very knowledgeable and congenial.
food came quickly. only problem was the very high decibel level with a table of about 12 next to us. we had to scream at each other to be heard. the acoustics aren't great because of brick walls and wood flooring. we want to go again in an off-time because everything else was so good.
The night we were there, the lights in the restaurant kept going off completely and then turn back on. It was weird and lasted awhile. Service was slow. We were 7 people and they brought one half loaf of bread for table. Appetizers were limited but meatballs were good. Most people in our group liked their dinner and were happy. My chicken was tough and was sent back. I ate after all were finished. Good but not great
Gnocchi was a great experience. We found it it just by walking through the new neighborhood (a couple of weeks ago ). It looked great and we knew, we had to go there... What we did. Service great, Food great... everything we need.
This place is always great and I always try to find a reason to host dinners for special occasions here. The homemade gnocchi, the specials, the service and especially the "Family Style" menu offering are all fantastic!
Tried this based on reviews. We went on a Tuesday night so no issue getting a table. The gnocchi is freshly made. Dessert was tasty. Also open later than most byobs. I will definitely be going back.
Love this place, but prefer it on a less busy night.
The food was outstanding but the service was a bit slow and disorganized. Overall it was a great experience!
Food and service was above average. I thought the serving size were too generous We will be back
Great little cozy place with excellent food and great service!
Good service and excellent food. Your site should be clear it is cash only
We showed up with a reservation for 10 on a Saturday night, which we had also confirmed the day before, and we're basically told our table had been given away because another reservation had shown up with more people than expected. There were also two other large parties with reservations at the same time as us that were told the same thing. The lady in charge that night was extremely rude in dealing with us and dealt with the whole situation VERY poorly. Even worse was that it was a byob so we had all already bought bottles of wine that basically went to waste at that point. Luckily we were able to walk down the street to Nomad and get a table where we were treated like actual customers. Needless to say we will not be coming back or recommending this restaurant.
Horrible customer service experience. Didn’t even get a chance to try the food because upon arrival, we were told that they would not be honoring our reservation. The excuse I was given was that, due to the Super Bowl falling on this weekend, there was a much larger population in the city on this particular weekend and that every reservation showed up with extra people. Let me remind you that the Super Bowl was held in Minnesota, not Philly. So, instead of honoring reservations that had already been booked previously, they decided to just allow people to bring extra people with them to their reservations. I was told “There is nothing I can do about it” and that “this was not my problem”. My girlfriend was also told that one of the reservations that was originally booked “brought an extra 10 people with them” and that the owner/hostess was “threatened to be beaten up” by the person who made the reservation if they didn’t accommodate their extra people. This same person also thought it was a good idea to get in my girlfriend’s face, insinuating a physically altercation was going to take place. Thankfully it did not get to that point, but I feel it is important to relay this type of behavior to others. This is all after I confirmed my reservation with the restaurant two days in advance. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone if it was the last restaurant in Philly based on the way the owner spoke to both myself and my girlfriend when all we wanted was a simple explanation as to why they would not honor our reservation and would allow other reservations to just bring extra people in with them. I guess they have a different understanding of “reservation” than the rest of the world and the fine people over at OpenTable.
We ordered "Chef's Table". Great value at $50 per person. Delicious selections. Great Chef who is very hands on and friendly. Great atmosphere but gets really loud later. The Gnocchi special with blush sauce melted in your mouth. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Great wait staff that truly make the dining experience enjoyable. The menu is not very extensive because of the expansive list of specials everyday.
We went with a large group, there were 8 of us. The food exceeded our expectations and the service was outstanding. The atmosphere was casual and very cozy but the staff made the experience even more comfortable. We found the place by chance but I plan to visit this place again the next time that I am in Philly.
Food was incredible
Very enjoyable meal at a local spot. Lots of "daily specials", all delicious. Friendly, helpful service. We'll go again soon. Just be aware that it's BYOB and cash only.
I love Gnocci because the owners and the staff make us feel at home. It's like visiting a favorite relative. It's a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. The servers are great. They know the menu and they're so accommodating. The owners and the servers cater to the customers, making sure you enjoy the food and the experience. The food is delicious, imaginative and abundant.
Always a good meal. One of our favorite places to take out of town friends
Waiter and staff were attentive and informative. Suggested the Chef’s table which was an incredible value that offered a plentiful array of selections. Delicious food!
Amazingly delicious food, excellent service, large portions so there were leftovers. We’ll definitely return! Recommended BYO!
The food was delicious and the staff was very accommodating. My only complaint would be that the staff locked our party into a fixed menu pricing upon our arrival at the restaurant (without informing us of this decision when we made the reservation). The staff was otherwise very helpful but we paid $50 a person for a fixed menu dinner. Food tasted great
They don't accept credit cards, but no sign notifying customers of this. Server was very hasty with, "Can I take this?" as I was getting cash ready (after I ran to ATM next door) - wish she were as hasty during the previous :15 minutes we were ignored while new customers were served. Server gave us a mom look when we said we were finished with mussels and there were a few left on plate - we didn't appreciate being shamed by her, especially when they smelled mildly off. Boyfriend didn't care for his fish and had to repeat his diplomatic response of, "It's just not for me" when pressed for a reason. I'll give them points for working on Thanksgiving weekend, but the food wasn't good enough to make me go back. Jerusalem artichokes were noteworthy.
